    I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

    Good. I've already done this, with an industrial wire brush, cone-type, 6 inch. Cost was 45 $ Canadian. Cut - off 9/16 inch deep socket, to fit onto Stihl FS 40 trimmer drive nut/shaft. Welded it to the top side, of cone brush- centered and balanced it. Install onto drive nut/shaft with a larger spacer washer, to fit , so the nut going onto the drive shaft, tightens the brush, to the lower lip, of drive. Works awesome, as a sidewalk trimmer - throws dirt/grass/sand all over - takes a short time, to cut back up to 2 inches of dirt/overgrowth over sidewalk. Angling the trimmer, gives for an angled dirt edge, looks very good, pro-like. Made another one - flat brush, doing the same thing ; BUT this one, works better for just ' weed whacking '.... Go Trevor....but b carefull !

    Always use from right to left when moving against the rocks and or walls. In this review you are moving from left to right and hence the kick

    • @petersack5074
      @petersack5074 Před 18 dny +1

      Right. Drag it while walking to the ' right ' up the sidewalk, so the rotation throws the debris, FORWARD ; angling the trimmer to get the 45 degree slope, of the dirt/grass growing over the sidewalk...(using inside of cone brush.....).. Much better control - same as my skill saw blade, onto STihl FS 40 .....trimming tree branches....

    I like this as an alternative attachment. I am seeing some concerns about pavement/brick damage. I am not looking to trim near pavement. But I have a lot of heavy brush, small trees I need to trim, the string trimmers (even heavy duty ones) are terrible and the feeder system always sticks/hate replacing the spools. I bought a Stihl commerical gas trimmer and a metal trimmer blade (it's basically a circular saw blade with no safety guard on it, not a good idea). I sold it for 2 reasons. One it is very heavy/hard to control (I am older and have a chronic shoulder issue), to be honest the metal blade scared me (there is no give at all with it and I am afraid it will kick back and give me a serious cut on leg, etc.. So the Wire brush looks like a good in between option

    Thanks for doing a review! I've been trying to decide if this wheel brush was any good much less worth the money. With this review all I have to do now is place my order. For some reason I was picturing those wires in the wheel falling to pieces after 20 minutes of use, but its a beast in the Field. Now I'm curious if you can edge with it like you can with string just no string to lose. Again thanks for the review

    These will only work on a weed eater with a clutch drive. If you have a direcct drive like most weed eaters, it will be nearly impossible to start. The weight of the wire wheel is too heavy causing the pull start to not be fast enough. I just installed one on a warmed up machine and I could not turn the engine fast enough to start it.

    Several folks asking if this will work on an electric trimmer: No. First, you probably won't be able to attach it. Even if you did, you have a bigger problem: The electric motor is meant to spin at high speeds with relatively low torque. This is just too heavy an attachment. The higher load will burn out the motor in a short time. Seriously, you won't be able to even finish your lawn with it before the motor is shot.

If your skilled with the weedeater you wont break the line much at all. With that wire wheel, i bet it dont last that long and i dont have to worry about the metal wire sticking in my leg as it comes apart. That thing bogged your weedeater down way to much . I run my equipment as it should be ran. I run about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and it cuts everything just fine, actually it cuts it GREAT. Thanks for the review.
