  • The rainy days of April continue. Today, there is severe weather with thunderstorms going from West to East. These severe warned storms looked like they were headed for Boca Raton, however, the storms seemed to diverge just before. But now there is heavy rain in Fort Lauderdale again. I don't know if y'all saw, but just south of Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale had the craziest weather day that I have ever seen yesterday.
Where I was, in Boca Raton, I saw continuous rains all day long; totaling to about 3 inches of rainfall. But down in Fort Lauderdale, that was insane. I don't think I've ever seen a storm that was originally moving just stop over an area. But that was what happened in Fort Lauderdale, where a storm that dropped heavy rain, indicated on radar with the red color, stayed right over the Fort Lauderdale area for at least six hours or more. In total, I'm pretty sure it rained for 8-10 hours straight for most of the South Florida area. But in Fort Lauderdale, there was about 20ish inches of rain. So yeah, being (somewhat) of a witness to this strange weather event, I would say it felt very reminiscent of Tropical Storm Nicole from last year... perhaps worse.
Today, there's been sunny skies early on, but now in the afternoon, there are some thunderstorms passing by. This seems like a more typical type of weather pattern for Florida.
