I’m part of a men’s group at my church that works to promote masculine virtue and break away from sexual sin. Really it’s such a massive problem that there are many men today who don’t have a male friend who they can really be open with. It’s so good to have true friends who you can trust and be trusted by.
how do you go about promoting those thing at your church if you don’t mind me asking?

As a wife of 9 years, I want to encourage young men to not be discouraged if your idea of adventure doesn't look like camping or warfare. You're not less of a man if you prefer to battle the cultural darkness with beautiful words or art. Passivity is the problem, not gentleness.

Many guys I knew in the Army openly were artists or appreciated art. Plenty were nerds too, like love 40k or Starwars... I was so surprised. But why do we fight... we fight because there are things like this that we like which are worth it back home.
What's crazy is being openly religious as a Christian is seen as "cringe" these days which is wild to me. It's why I'm glad that I made so many Muslim friends because that community is open about their faith and that's something I respect massively, even if Christianity and Islam are incompatible belief-wise. I've found times where if I tell someone about a religious topic or say, "I think this is a sign from God" or some such, I almost feel... embarrassed? Stupid? Naïve? Let me be clear, I'm not embarrassed to be a Catholic Christian nor am I in doubt of my beliefs in God, but religion is so downplayed today that I feel like I am being out of place anytime I mention stuff like that.

That makes it COMPLETELY incompatible. Islam believes he was simply a prophet and a very good/noble person, meaning he was only man. That is heresy to Christians. To be any kind of accepted Christian, you MUST believe Jesus is God. If not, you can not be a Christian.

Joining a small group of men in my church who both struggled with the same things I did AND challenged each other to do better was a massive turning point for me, especially with my fight against lust. It's taken much longer to grow out of teenage insecurities than I'd like to admit, but it's been an amazing journey and and I'm still working on it.
Don't let anyone tell you you cannot have self control, Jesus calls us to it, and when we seek help and remember his word, we have all the tools we need to make it happen.

One of the things im trying to overcome is doubt. All through life, people havent trusted me to do many things. My family would belittle me, and i wasn't always in the best environment. Even now, i still cant always trust my own judgements thinking im always messing up. Keep your heads held high, and preserver. God has a reason for everything.

@@richardwatterstan That’s false. If someone has an interest in science and is gifted they shouldn’t abstain from potentially advancing the field. Humans especially women should never be reduced to reproduction machines.

Obviously, reproduction is the one most important thing to life. No reproduction - no life. There's obviously much praise for the roles of the mother, idealised as the blessed virgin Mary, and God the father.
But as it is, it implies you value a man's possible advances to science as greater than those of a woman, which is clearly false. And possibly that we/women should not use the gift of scientific skill God has given us.

I am a 21 year old man who has recently embraced Christianity and I was indeed hopless and in a very dark place but I truly believe that God pulled me out of that place and while I am uncertain of how I should continue my life I actually look foward to pursuing a meaningful life.
As a slightly older Christian hear my advice. DO NOT wait for God to throw a wife in your lap. Start working hard right now to be the man worthy of the wife you want in five years.
Your most important relationship is with God. Build a relationship with others, but never lose your relationship with Christ.

I agree and disagree. Church isn't a hospital that you can throw like cheap whore. Church is a body of christ. A community that supports each other. Jesus comes to this world to heal the broken and call the sinners back to His calling. To mend the broken covenant between God and human. If we act high and mighty and thinks the only person that's allowed in the church is the holy people then we're just like pharisees.

Man, this was wild.
I followed one of the instructions at the end to get in touch with a male friend to ask them how they're holding up and that I'm there if they ever need me. I chose a friend who recently lost a relative who, turns out, really needed to hear that and really appreciated the sentiment.
It sucks that, without being told to, I wouldn't have thought to just text a friend unless I expressly needed something.
This has just made me realise how isolated and lonely I've kept myself all these years.

Obviously we'd stay away from christian beliefs, generations of parents here excuse bigotry with christian values and the government (notoriously corrupt here) side with mega churches furthering distrust to them. The masses are busy fighting bigotry and fighting for equality, for change and church has been so rooted in filipino identity and its a new age now where we want change its getting pushed out.

Even when I was agnostic I was aware that the lack of church is the reason there's such a strong feeling of hopelessness and lack of purpose these days. There is no given community for secular people. When you graduate highschool, unless you go to college, it's just your house and work, that's it, it's bleak. When you're in the church you have a community for life.
I'm Agnostic and I also recognise that the decline of religion can be directly linked to loneliness

Car dependency and zoning created that lack of community, not secular culture. If we built cities for people in ways which promote social interaction rather than building them for cars in ways which promote social division, our nation would be *so* much better off!

I am still in public school. Everything you said, everything about public school, is true. We are being taught all of this anti-Christian stuff. Most people at my school sadly go along with it, say, do weed, or play too many video games, or just stop boys from being boys. Keep spreading the word man.

Weed (at least edibles) shouldn't be considered anti-Christian because God specifically says in the Old Testament that he gave us every green plant for food (yes, I know some of them are poisonous or medicinal so they aren't actual food but the point is that they're morally okay to consume). I know Paul talks about not being intoxicated but I don't think God requires you to stay sober all the time because in the law of Moses, it says that common people can consume strong drink.
As a socially anxious recluse who stays at home not doing much most of the time, and usually ends up feeling depressed and lonely cause he doesn’t have the balls to meet new people, I needed this. I’m not gonna lie, I was thinking of giving up on everything. My family was constantly mad at me, my friends abandoned me, and I didn’t have the social skills to comfortably meet new people. I needed this video as a last source of hope. I’m 16 years old and I’m scared about my future.
Totally feel you bro, your fear is warranted. I am much older and in similar situation sadly. But try to find guys to hang out with often and get out often, perhaps guys who are also socially awkward. It’s important to just have someone to talk to. Consider that they could ideally be your friends for the rest of your life, and you should be able to help each other out in future. So if possible choose friends with same values and similar goals.
For your future IMO main focus should be school, future career or line of work, getting small work asap and making some money. Once you can pay for stuff, be independent, and provide for others, people will respect you.
Give your life to Jesus and He will fix it, He will renew it, He will heal you entirely. I'm 16 as well and have felt the same way in the past, however I came upon the online "self-improvement" movement about 2 years ago and dedicating myself to a greater purpose (of following Christ fully and achieving my most desired goals) has completely changed me for the better. My personal advice for someone in your situation is to start out by just going for the small wins. Give yourself small goals (ex: 30 pushups everyday) and once you can easily accomplish them, just make them greater and keep achieving. Within just a few months, I promise you'll feel completely changed and like you can do anything (because you really can lol).

All i can say is that you can do it, but help is needed. Im not saying you need a therapist (which depending where you live may be expensive), but talk to someone you know.
Parents are often scary to open up to, friends may be too distant. You are the judge as to who you can approach.
If you think one of your parents or sibling can have a good open heart moment where you tell eachother that you love and won't abandon the other, and give the time to cry together.
You probably can't imagine how it makes an immense difference.

Bro I feel you honestly I am also very socially awkward usually just staying in my friend group but something I’ve done recently is ask a random person at church or wherever your at how their day has been, it’s really hard at first but it feels amazing to see their eyes light up in excitement from somebody just wanting to have a conversation with them
I was in a Bible study group with some friends & there was one 9 wk period where we split up into young men & women’s groups & we did a men’s study & the girls did a women’s study. The study we did was called “Warrior” by Lance Ingram & in my opinion it’s one of the best resources/studies on how young men & men in general need to equip themselves for the times that we’re currently in & the times to come too. Also I haven’t gotten into but my dad who’s a SBC preacher loves talking about & through Dr.Tony Evans “Kingdom Man” study

One clarification I think is necessary on issues of masculinity vs femininity is that men are not exactly encouraged from a young age to be unmasculine and feminine, but to be unmasculine and practice or embody the negative expressions of femininity (ie excessive indecision, passive aggression, vulnerable/insecure narcissism, etc.). In the same way, women are encouraged from a young age to be unfeminine and practice negative expressions of masculinity, (ie "girlboss" culture promoting aggression, ruthlessness, uncontrolled ambition and greed, irresponsibility). Because femininity and masculinity each are not negative or bad, and the positive traits are also not bad when found in either sex, but simply more likely to occur in the personalities of the sexes they are associated with, respectively. A sociable man with overflowing compassion is not a failure of a man, nor is an adventurous woman who actively and unabashedly confronts wrongdoing a failure of a woman, but both are rare, and both are rare likely for a reason. But I do think that practicing the flaws typical of the opposite sex has an even greater detriment to oneself and possibly society as a whole than the flaws typical of your own sex, and for it to happen en masse is scary at best, at worst the cause of collapse. And another thing is that it is bad for men who would otherwise be masculine to be forced into femininity, even the positive traits, and vice-versa, since it will cause great harm to such men and women.

@@PurpleNoir ah, to clarify, I meant to include grandiose narcissism as one of the negative expressions of masculinity too, so as to say that narcissism is more often insecure among women and grandiose among men, and as both forms of narcissism are negative, the more common forms for each sex might be counted as negative expressions of feminine/masculine traits.
Autism is the "extreme male brain" and is caused by prenatal testosterone which is why many autistic women and girls, and exclusively the females on the spectrum, come out as lesbian or trans: it's because they have make brains and desires

My mum and I were talking today after church and we touched on the topic of marriage. She has very much the idea that marriage is a somewhat hopeless idea for our youth today. I, being 19 and having a great longing to be married and raise children to be soldiers for the Kingdom of God, am of the opinion that this defeatist mindset is precisely what we young Christians need to fight against. Anyway, I thought nothing more of it until she sent me this video. Not only did she unknowingly watch a minecraft video, but she said that you were promoting the same idea I was. And it made me really happy to know that there are others wishing for a Christian community also. Find Bible verses to read and recite when temptation bears its pig face. When wicked thoughts enter your mind, force them out with scripture and praise. I was raised Methodist, but as my stepmother’s health started to decline, my family went to church less and less until we gradually became your standard C and E Christians. Your videos have been a huge part of my decision to start going back to church. I went the last two weeks and every week I look forward even more to going to church and worshipping with a community that cares about the problems we face today and offers tools to face them. I genuinely believe that God used you to call me back to Him, and I am grateful. So thanks again for what you do and for giving hope to countless young people!
On the point about conservativism needing to be FOR something, I used to wonder why the Lord of the Rings still stands above all other fantasy, even C.S. Lewis' Narnia, as the pinnacle. I believe it's because Tolkien paints an idyllic standard of behavior in all the characters. Frodo's mercy towards Gollum, and his self-sacrifice for the good of all. Samwise's devotion and loyalty to his friend, to the point of going to hell and back with him. Aragorn's acceptance of responsibility, and embracing his inheritance, rather than running from it. Gandalf's wisdom and guidance, as well as his sometimes harsh but never cruel means of correction. Even the side characters exhibit idyllic masculine qualities. The books go the extra mile in showing how these men interact as friends, even to complete strangers (just look at Aragorn and Eomer's meeting in Two Towers). Tolkien's fantasy set the standard of a lot more than the fantasy genre; it challenges the reader to live up to a standard of a well-rounded life. Much like ancient myth.
Im a huge Tolkien fan too and I love his characters so much. People can learn a lot about goodness and Truth from the like of Tolkien and Lewis, and the hope that remains even in the darkest of circumstances mirrors our hope in Christ, even in the valley of the shadow if death. Tolkien wrote amazing female characters too, they absolutely demand respect and attention when they appear, yet they are also graceful, strong, caring, and courageous, and essential to the tale. Galadriel and Eowyn resonated so much with me as a young girl that I think they shaped a bit of who I am. Listening to Lord of the Rings again as an adult helped me see what Tolkien knew implicitly, femininity is not inheritly weak, and masculinity is not inheritly dominating.

I substituted real life friends for online friends for years. Decided about half a year ago to commit to church, and while I have a group of friends there, I find that the social isolation has affected me so much that I can't really talk to them. I struggle with eye contact, leading conversations, and including myself in their plans because "I don't want to be a bother". Social isolation and being terminally online has destroyed my social skills and I'm not sure how to fix it
Just keep trying to better yourself, I guess, is the answer. Nobody said this was an easy problem to fix, and it if it was then people would have already done it by now.

Try going to a Traditional Catholic (Latin Mass, Eastern Catholic, Ordinariate etc) Church. They are typically filled with young men and women and families. You may find it in the garden variety novus ordo parish, but the more traditional the parish, the more young people there are. God Bless.

Hey man I went to a First Presbyterian Church for the first time last Sunday, it was a amazing experience. I haven't been to church since I was about 12 years old, I was raised Catholic. After my Dad passed I stopped going. Recently been looking more into Christ and have been finding my way. If you want to add the church to your list of Historic Churches it's called First Presbyterian Church Oceanside, they were founded in 1871 here in Oceanside, New York. They are more left leaning, for me that doesn't really matter they seem to stick to scripture though. I personally am more politically in the middle of both parties more so leaning right wing but I don't mind this church. Everyone was super welcoming to me when I went there, with open arms they brought me back to church and I will be going back every Sunday from now on. Prays the lord 🙏

I am not Christian anymore, but I do think monogamy and commitment is crucial for society. To sacrifice yourself for someone, sometimes to the expense of yourself, as they also do it for you, is why love is powerful. I thank you for touching on this topic, because the state of young men is DIRE. And most of your points are really good. However, I do have some critical points and I'm only saying this because I value the content that you share and the heart you have to talk about these things.
You mentioned a couple of times, and it seems like this was one of your main points: GO TO THE local church to change and fix the problem. I'm always an advocate for more young men to go and stick to one local church, and I'm also always an advocate for society to strengthen young men, starting with the local church. However, do you really think it's wise to encourage young men, who are generally very hot headed and prideful, who aren't already going to church for whatever reason, to go to the local church to "change" something? Sounds like the blind leading the blind. What young men need to learn is how to REPENT. Young men who aren't already going to church have a long way to go before they are at a place where they're capable of changing anything. I'm saying this because I've been discipling young men in the church for three years, and I can say I've had a lot of weaknesses along the way, and I ought to have had more fear of God throughout the way. So, I suggest a couple of things to think about for your future videos:
1. Talk about repentance more. People don't make mistakes, they actively reject God. If people don't actually recongize that the MVPs are major SINS that they're committing and going to church is the best way of getting accountability to fight those sins, they're not going to last in the church for long.
2. Talk about Christ more. I find it strange that you talked about the ONLY hope for young men and didn't mention the name of Jesus once.
Basically, share the Gospel.
Again, I love your videos and I think they have a lot of value towards the community. You're doing something incredible that many, including myself, am not capable of. So, I, too, must be humble. The fact that your videos are gaining so much steam shows that God has favour on you! Several of my friends at college watch you (I would too, if I didn't block CZcams on most of my devices). I think there are good things to learn from the story of David and Jonathan in the bible. Their friendship was extremely strong. And David mourned him greatly when Jonathan passed.
The motivation part is very important. After last summer i was entering my second year of Norwegian high school, i had tons of motivation to work for my grades and if i'd have continued as such i would've aced the whole thing, but that didn't happen, out of nowhere i lost all my motivation over the course of the winter and my grades started going down. I just felt no reason to be going on like that, and i got depressed. Through all this i found God, and God has given me the strength to get me back where i was before but better. Young men need God these days.

They are massive gatherings were people worship the Lord, receive teaching and they connect people, in a world where it seems like you can be so alone in your faith. There's some words of wisdom in this. I've been trying to tone down my own cannabis use myself (I think it's good to treat it responsibly like booze) and while I wouldn't say it outright kills my motivation, it certainly dulls stress and general societal anger that i sometimes feel.
Cuz let's be real, working two jobs and weekend side jobs at 20 to barely afford rent with a roommate is some bogus. It's not like I'm expecting a summer of work to pay for tuition or anything crazy like what happened after the second world war, but living is just becoming untenable. I wouldn't call myself nihilistic, because I put my faith where my mouth is most of the time.
And about what you said about media addiction, i entirely agree, but I think it's gone past video games, and gone past men. I was listening to a really catchy song the other day that has a chorus that goes "who are we to wonder where we're going, who am I to tell me who I am," but when I listened to all of the verses, it's just some guy narrating his life through the filter of what shows he's streaming, and how life events coincide with seasons of his favorite shows. The whole song didn't really try to, but I could only see, the effects of chronic detachment. Being so unconnected and not in the world around you that you can't think in any other way THAN in that framing.
A general consumerist attitude, something that I see when we talk about our favorite brands, our favorite shows, our favorite things we like to consume instead of our favorite traits in people.

I don't usually do this, but I wanted to say something as a fellow Christian. Self-Love IS NOT anti-Christian. The Love of Self, putting yourself above all else, is anti-Christian. Self-Love is "an appreciation of one's own worth or virtue, proper regard for and attention to one's own happiness or well-being" (Definition from Merriam Webster). You have to show yourself love in how you take care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially, financially, and for your future. You have to take care yourself especially when helping others. In the Book of Mark, Jesus says the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. We are required to LOVE Ourselves, to show ourselves as much love as we would show our neighbors.
Yes, self-love can become selfish and humans can easily get self-centered, but a healthy ordered self love is needed for a healthy life. We are vessels of the Holy Spirit. Like any vessel, be it car or ship, it needs maintainence care and repairs. Unlike like these inanimate vessels who don't get a choice when they are repaired, we are Living Vessels who DO get a choice in when our own maintenance happens. It is something that should happen frequently whether that be in prayer, fellowship, or in making healthy decisions.

MVP is so true of many young men, including me before I got saved. One of the things about marijuana is that it hurts your motivation even when you aren't high. All three problems are meant to sap men of their motivation and satisfy their God given desires to protect, provide, and procreate. You might want to do a video on "muscular Christianity" which was an early 20th century movement meant to bring men back into churches. Teddy Roosevelt was a proponent of the movement and there are some super cool "manly hymn" books that came out of that era.
I think we need to seriously consider restoring and renewing monasticism for Protestant traditions. Not as a bandaid of retreating from the pagan culture we face, but as a proper vocation for those who can support the Church through the unique calling and provide a 24/7 visible incarnation of lay Christians to encourage those called to be bulwarks in the marital and clerical vocations

I think it’s good to be careful. My teachers at least gave the explanation that if we throw snowballs, there could be small pieces of stone or gravel which could potentially hit someone in the eye. I got involved in my church music ministry. I'm Catholic. I'm the only male in the group of about 8 total, maybe 4 show up to any one mass on Sunday. The choir director is female. I find myself holding my tough a lot during rehearsal; I feel like I could do a better job as director but I have a full time job a wife and child already. I understand the situation she is in. I sure wish there were more people to start a men's choir. Am I supposed to tell the priest that they should replace her with a man? What man? There are no men. The whole parish is run by women.

Very true! I'm in the same position right now and I cant help but worry about the same thing. For me, it is just knowing that I can become successful and have money and so on, but while I have the drive to do these things for myself, at the end of the day it just doesn't mean as much to me without having someone else to share it all with. The traditional role of men being the providers is really being suppressed these days but it is so fulfilling to provide and have others that rely on you because it offers so much purpose for your life. As a young Christian woman this fits from my point of view too! I hope to get married and have a traditional family one day; but it's hard for that hope to feel realistic when, throughout my teen and young adult life, I've only ever met a handful of guys in my age group who are genuinely committed to Christ. Even the guys I consider to be my friends are mostly flirting with/fully into MPV.... I have so many female friends who are passionate for Jesus, where are the boys at? And honestly, even if I do meet someone I'm interested in, I worry that he'll have wacked out expectations about romance (and by wacked out I mean immature, nonconsensual, violent, and outside the bounds of Christian chastity) because of the media that's targeted at young men. The western world is already on the brink of destruction, and as a student of history I know exactly what a generation full of ungodly, passive men can do to a civilization.

I was a small group leader in a house of 70 Christian guys in college. From my experience, there will always be guys, even in the church, who will walk away after the world. But there are many faithful guys as well. The biggest issue, in my observation, in the lives of Christian men is Scriptural illiteracy. Most guys come from churches that preach on topical issues and they don't get the exposure that they need to the whole counsel of God. Guys can learn a skill rather effectively, with the right tools and mentorship. However, our current church and societal climate is such that men don't have the tools that they need provided to them in solid, scripture adhering preaching through the whole scriptures (so they can be exposed to the whole counsel of God and know what God prioritizes by the frequency it comes up in scripture) and fatherlessness as a whole in society is crippling, but can be overcome by good, godly mentors, of whom few will step up naturally without prodding out of fear of disconnect with the youth (this has resulted in my having to reach out to guys I respect to counsel me at times). This is the crux of the issue to me: men are capable; but, need to be encouraged by men they respect, so it needs to be a community affair.
Here is where my advice to you and your peers is: first, pray (of highest importance when seeking and being joined in marriage to a spouse) very little in life can be changed by the efforts of oneself, but with God all things are possible, but are done in accord to His purpose. Second, the traits I advise looking for in a Godly man would be teachable (to authority of the preacher, his parents [if younger], take counsel even from someone younger than himself, is he mindful of the weak among him (does he talk to the elderly in the church, does he not talk down to children), is he long-suffering (can he encounter hardship in life with grace, not getting flustered or frustrated easily, but working steadily even fruition is not immediately evident), and meekness (not to be confused with timidness, but the ability to recognize he may have power, but submits it under the Lord). And generally the same counsel as the proverbs for a good woman: Charm (personality one puts up) is deceptive, Beauty (outward appearance) is fleeting, but a woman (or man) who fears the Lord is to be praised. And the process of sanctification is an ongoing effect, so recognize that he may not meet these things perfectly yet, but if he is striving for them, he is a solid candidate.
Also, as one who has both psychology and biblical education, and who has worked mental health facilities, caregiving, healthcare, etc. I advise, don't make anyone a project (good or ill intentioned). Your husband will be imperfect, and you can't change his worst habits, only he can do that, and that prompting must come from the Spirit (again pray for him). I know many Godly men, who were dropped by a dating prospect after a couple weeks because they didn't meet the individual's standards (those ladies will either be deceived by a charmer, find a man who meets the list, but gets so burnt out trying to meet those expectations and the new ones she adds on that he will get burnt out and give up altogether, or will never find anyone who meets them and, unwilling to compromise on a man who isn't perfect, but trying; she will be single and lonely and I don't know which is worse, so don't be her haha. Marriage is teamwork and it is easier to get up and try when you have a buddy cheering you on, not gauging you against every metric haha!
I think there is a decline in friendship in part because of the sexualization of love. One of the vocabulary shifts from the gay rights movement is the equation of love and sex. (See “love is love,” when of course “love” was never the problem.) As any deep friendship between men is suspect of being a gay relationship. Look what they read into David and Jonathan.
I think our society having a one track mind in making everything about sex is a big problem. Just like guys who have legitimate complaints of not being able to start a familly or have a meaningful connection with a woman always get dismissed as "guys who are entitled to sex" or "incels" or "guys who are just mad that they can't get laid"(while ironically accusing these guys of sexually objectifing women.) Same with homosexuality in how every debate with some "homophobe" always ends with confidently concluding him as a closet homosexaul himself, and has nothing to do with him finding homosexuality genuinely strange or repulsive. I think it has to do with our society's knee jerk over correction to puritanism and taking Seigmond Frued WAY too seriously.

You are spot on about the loneliness and isolation of young men. And you are even more right to point out that Tolkien saw the antidote to this. “Indeed in nothing is the power of the Dark Lord more clearly shown than in the estrangement that divides all those who still oppose him.” Christian men need each other’s support. Jesus didn’t just choose the 12 apostles because the church needed leaders. He also chose them to be his friends.
Made it about 60 seconds in and identified 3 red flags about this person's beliefs and messages.
1. "Girls are doing better than boys in schools"
This one seems like a reasonable concern. But posing it as a problem than needs to be fixed is concerning for the future of women. Women have been kept out of academia across the globe for thousands of years. In Greece, in China, in Arabia, in the UK. But the moment women are doing better than men in any way, suddenly there's a problem. Notice also his phrasing. "The public education system often favors feminine traits..." is a subtle way to imply that it's the system's fault. Men shouldn't need to change, and instead, the system has an issue. Now, the idea that systemic issues need systemic change to solve the issue is one that I agree with. But this obscures where the root of the problem lies. It's misleading and short-sighted. Presenting the issue in this way makes it seem like school should change, when in reality, the culture in which men are raised needs to change.
2. "The public education system often favors feminine traits, like being neat, organized, quiet, and following directions"
Why are these traits considered feminine? Is there a reason, perhaps a cultural reason? I don't know. He doesn't say. If he were to say something like "owning a purse is a feminine trait", that would be easy to verify. Purses are sold in the "women's" section of stores, they are marketed to women, and most purse owners are women. But how could you make a sweeping, blanket statement about a minority group with so much confidence, yet have nothing to back it up with? It's just from thin air.cHe also contrasts this with masculine traits of being loud, energetic, and creative. Again, I don't know why these traits are considered masculine. I just have to take this guy's word for it I guess.
3. "There's the problem of not being able to find a wife"
Firstly, wives are not a commodity. They aren't a good that's low on supply. They are living, breathing human beings that have ideas, ambitions, and futures. To reduce them to nothing more than something you would find in a grocery store is insulting. Secondly, not everybody needs to find a life. It's not a box to be checked off of life's to-do list. Don't trap yourself in a marriage you don't want simply because you feel like you have to. And lastly, the speaker says that one could "reasonably expect" to find a wife, until "the structure of modern society makes it really hard" to do these things. Is it that modern society is intentionally making things harder for no reason? Or is it that society is changing at a pace that the archaic definition of manhood cannot keep up?
All of this weaves together to form an idea of male entitlement. "Men don't need to change, the system needs to change. Oh, but the outdated, restrictive definition of what it means to be a man, though? Nah, that's not the issue either. It's school's fault. It's women's fault. It's society's fault. Just ignore the fact that men have agency and can change those things."
Watching the rest of the video, here are some other thoughts.
- In regards to sexual frustration, the speaker says that historically speaking, this could lead to something bad happening. But... what exactly? He never specifies. And I'd love to know more examples throughout history of... somehting bad happening. Maybe that happened in... Spain??? Australia??? I don't know, he never tells me. In general, these outcries are warranted. There is a crisis for a longing for community. Once you're out of high school or college, it's impossible to meet new people and make friends. Especially since it's so hard to find a job now. But the solution isn't for everyone to go to church. People have their own beliefs, and it's not necessarily the bedrock of society. City centers are. Parks are. Malls and markets and cafes and apartment buildings are. This video shouldn't be an outcry for church. It should be an outcry for public spaces and walkable cities.

Women being organized and quiet in school is a traditional stereotype. It's not really an absolute truth, but it seems to originate from the fact that young girls' brains develop at a faster rate than their male peers at a similar age. This results in the more rational women at being much better at organization skills, studying, and test taking, which benefit them in the current school system, while the more behind men are punished for doing boyish things like roughhousing and forgetfulness.
Obviously these stereotypes aren't universal, but they *do* come up from time to time. There are exceptions, but these are the trends.
Men need something to fight for other than themselves to thrive in society, married men with kids make more on average. That’s why he states wife’s are important we need somebody good to raise our kids. Because us men especially don’t want to fight for our country or gonverment these days.
The reason I'm not Christian is because I don't want to have kids or a wife at all. When I told my parents this, they just said "grow up" and when they kept asking about "got a girlfriend yet?" I said no. Then my parents figured out they couldn't change me, they just shunned me. I thought Christians were supposed to be welcoming and kind. They literally neglected me for a while because they wanted grandchildren. They scared me away from religion.
As for me I used to be a Christian but not anymore, I've realised that nothing truly changes, I thought Christians are supposed to be kind and welcoming as you said but there's alot of people like those and anti-lgbt ones

Boys are just as social as girls, but are more likely to openly conflict, where girls are more likely to passively conflict or actively cooperate. As well, I think a better word than empathetic is emotionally intelligent. That is, they speak the language of feelings better than most guys do, which makes it easier for girls to frame and articulate their emotions.

As a young woman married to a wonderful christian man I think you really hit the mark. It requires extra effort to be traditionally feminine and traditionally masculine with conservative values in today's world, but it is so worth it. There's no need to justify your ways to anybody else if you want to uphold traditional values in your life, just start somewhere. There are no easy solutions to the problems you mentioned, but the only everlasting solutions are found with God.

I agree with you on the things you mentioned. I would add fatherlessness as a biggest factor in the state of young men today. Fatherlessness is caused by the Sexual Revolution and feminism which dismisses the role of a committed marital relationship. Boys need a father for an example.
Also, Reformed Baptist and conservative Protestant churches (PCA or OPC) are more masculine than other churches I've attended. When I say "Reformed Baptist", I include Particular Baptists like John MacArthur type churches (dispensational Particular Baptists).

Funny you say that, as someone around the area I could recommend the First PH Church either in Goldsboro or Mount Olive (they’re separate.)
I was raised Pentecostal, I do not fully agree and as I move away I am looking for something a little different, but I can certainly tell you that the Gospel is preached and the church has an excellent track record for serving the community. I can personally vouch for the one in Mount Olive if you’re willing to make a 15-20 minute drive.
