Joule thief circuit uses two discrete inductors (no toroid)

  • Two discrete, through hole inductors placed side by side replaces the ferrite toroid in the basic Joule their circuit. Circuit built on breadboard. The link below presents my explanation on how the Joule Thief works.

    If the battery voltage is low than what transistor require to start conduction, the oscillation will start anyway ? I ask that because i build this with a 2n2222 and a AAA cell with 0.6V, with out resistors on base. The oscillation starts, the led slow fade way, then I need to manually switch on again.
