    I took a course at college on plant breeding. Besides what you mentioned, number six can be genetics. If you try to grow seed from hybrids, the dominate trait might be male or female in seeds collected from them. Use heirloom seeds for biodiversity. Otherwise, be dependent on the seed company. It is o.k., too, since the hybrids can give you a great crop.

I also heard that parthenocarpic zucchini varieties won't require cross pollination. These varieties are rare and have to be sow and grown from seed hence purchased in advance from a reputable seed company. Be well and Happy Gardening!!!
