  • This video shows how to adjust the height of the trimmer line on a Craftman walk-behind 22 inch Weedtrimmer. It also shows the mechanism from the inside that locks the latch to the axis to select the desired height. If it seems locked or does not work, it may be because there is a lot of grass inside the head of the trimmer line. Remove the bolt and clean it up! That's what I am showing!

    Excellent video! I had to replace the carrier plate , one of the tabs holding the line finally broke off after 20 years. ordered a replacement but not the mechanism to adjust the height. Disassembly was what I needed to replace it.

    Loved how straight forward and clear you are. I'm just learning to use my trimmer and finding out how to disassemble to remove tangled grass is a BIG game changer for me. Thank you.

      Make sure you clean the assembly. It happened to me that I couldn't adjust the base because the amount of grass in the base. Hope it works for you. Thank you for your comment!

    How do I remove and replace the entire assy. I have the ball off, but there is a bushing on the shaft below the assy. It's bigger than the hole in the assy and NOT moving at all.

    How would you lock the shaft from spinning for removing the nut on the bottom?

    • @drivanfig
      @drivanfig  Před rokem

      The nut is not crazy tight. Just hold the bottom part with one hand and use the rachet with the other one. At least it worked for me. Thank you for your comment!

      @@drivanfig thanks! Apparently ot wasnt the bolt being too tight. The bearing in the thing is fused to the shaft and half blown apart 😆
