Mike Dean is one of the greatest producers of all time. In this interview, he sits down with Donnie Houston for a real conversation about his life and career. Mike talks about being a trained musician as a kid, jam sessions while in high school that sometimes included Eddie Hazel, producing early music for Selena all before meeting J. Prince and joining Rap-A-Lot. He goes in detail on his some his classic work with the label as well as meeting 2pac, working with Dr. Dre, Roger Troutman, Jay-Z, Diddy and more before connecting with Kanye West. He talks about their early sessions and some of their classic work together as well as working Beyonce', The Weeknd and Travis Scott. I been a fan of him since the 90's, when he was an in-house producer for Rap-A-Lot Records, producing some of the best beats that I ever heard for rappers like Scarface, Yukmouth, Geto Boys, A-G-2-A-KE, Z-Ro, Do Or Die, The Ghetto Twinz, etc...
