Riga is such a great city for walking. Love that you got into the old town, and through the park. The Art Nouveau district is also really beautiful.

@@Travellight5 We just left there a couple weeks ago. Couldn't agree more. The weather was awesome and we really could enjoy walking. We don't mind the cold - for a few days, but I think Latvian winters would be hard for us. We're wimps!

В какой-то степени да.
Трущобы начинаются за МКАДом и далее к востоку. Да и в пределах МКАДа кроме пробок и огалделых толп народа отдохнуть невозможно.

Везде трущеб хватает. Была лет 5 назад в хваленой Швейцарии . 3км от центра Цюриха заброшенные, заколоченные, перекошенние дома, просто была в шоке. Зато в центре куча банков.
