Honestly, 'cats over 20 pounds USUALLY have alot of wasteful fat. Har' in Okra-Homer, years ago up on Spring River, my Grandma and me caught 3 blue's that totalled about 20 pound. We fried and ATE my 8 pounder on the bank for "breakfast" with Paw-Paw's help. We got some channel cats too using crappie for bait. You probably know, ain't NOTHIN' tastes like one that was swimmin' a half-hour ago fresh-cooked on the banks!

Most likely this gentleman's " perch" are actually sunfish. I was at a fishing seminar once and a Northern pro fisherman freaked when he heard folks saying they used " perch" for bait. I had to explain that southerners oflen call green sunfish " perch".

I live in Georgia on a private 250 acre lake and tried almost everything for catfish bait, but even wardens aren’t allowed to trespass here cuz the land has a lot of history with my ancestors who came to an agreement with the government in the early 1900s. It’s a long story but the property was owned by my ancestors from way back in the early 1600s

Game fish are not legal bait in Tennessee. If you catch a bass or crappie in a cast net you must release it even if it is a baby fish. Game fish can only be caught by using a fishing pole in hand, no limb lines or jug fishing for them. I'm 60 years old and have lived and fished here for my entire life and know the laws well and anyone from out of state better read the regulations before going hunting or fishing here or pay the price

Play he caught a couple of crappie that big I'd be taking them home to eat. Because I would have caught some bluegill or or went and got some shad or skipjack. shad and skip Jack are oily fish. They put a scent out there faster and stronger than other fish that's why they can pick up on the scent of them much easier and faster. So I would have used something like that can taking a crappy home to eat.
