so Russell T Davies has said in interview that it didn't make sense as a character for Ruby to learn who her parents are then go running off into the Tardis again but that she will definitely be back as her story isn't quite finished yet, but she needs time with family so in meantime the doctor will be off with a new companion.
Love this reaction, love this episode, love this series, love this Doctor... I hate we only got 8 episodes. If we got a full length 12-13 episode series this could have been the best in all of NuWho. So many emotional gut punches in this episode...

the only issue i have with this episode is how they dont explain how ruby can make it snow, but that’s the only issue, other than that im fine, i also think mrs flood is the master/mistress but ut could be something else idk because the master wouldn’t stay hidden like that, unless she’s the one who took the tooth that the master is trapped in and is keeping it for something idk
Ruby's not making it snow. Sutekh is. He's become obsessed with discovering the identity of the woman on Ruby road, believing she must be a creature of magic, or a person of power, or a god of something, and that causes the night on Ruby road to bleed through wherever Ruby and the Doctor go (wherever Ruby and the Doctor... and Sutekh go), as he obsesses over the significance of this girl and her mother.
She will be back, Davies confirmed this is just a pause for Ruby. The answer seemed to easy. Just, take the dog for a walk.... The Ruby's mom reveal felt.... I don't know. I know what they were going for but when you build up a mystery that much, that kind of answer to me just feels kinda lazy Then again, I really wanted her to be related to the Doctor in some way. I felt like, okay even though the series had so many Doctor Light episodes and a few Ruby light episodes, having her be family might somehow give that connection that was told about but not really shown. Like, they didn't know for sure, but it was like they could sense it and that's why they supposedly clicked so fast.
Why are Doccy Who finales always so sad? Can't we have one finale where, instead of saying goodbye and mever being okay again, we just smile and have a happy day and move happily nooooo we have to say goodbye and cry and be sad.
Ordinary woman given power through the power of story telling, the power of fairy tales, the power of beliefs .... that is actually the whole entire arc of the season ... from the salt thing onward ...
The beginning of this episode was great, but the end just left me with too many questions so that it didn’t make sense. You have to suspend logic when you’re watching DW, but even doing so didn’t make this ending make sense. There has to be more to Ruby and her mother.
The ratings are irrelevant. Same-day figures haven't mattered for years. That's why the industry moved over to +7, and then +28s. Streaming, binging, iPlayer, etc. all these different ways the industry have changed, and people are still clinging to same-day figures.

Old TV's did have large screens like that that could be removed from their casings. Naturally though there should have been no image once it was removed as it would have no power or signals being feed to the screen.....

Ruby Sunday is a companion next season. The TARDIS team will have 2 companions. RTD has teased much more to come for Ruby's storyline
