  • Heasandford Revisited Nov 2018....Last visited in 1945 as a 9 year old kid, many changes have taken place over the intervening 72 years. This area of Burnley still remains an outstanding area of natural beauty.....Well worth a visit plus it has some excellent walks and lot's of history of our industrial past.

Great video, very informative. I'm always poking around the local area trying to come across bits of history. This helped a lot. Nothing better than information direct from someone who was actually there. Do more videos!! 👍🙂

Sorry, I missed this and it's over 1 year ago!!!!....My sincere apology for not responding sooner....Many thanks for your comments, I am knocking on a bit now so the legs don't work as good but another area of Burnley I do remember very well is under the railway arches where there used to be an Abattoir...I might just visit see what remains of the buildings and of course, my memories....Best wishes, Alan.

I remember a canal barge at the far end of Heasandford Lake....I made a little video showing where it was but I had no response at all from that one....I may do another.....best regards. Alan.

Thanks for your efforts and making this video, very well done aswell! Brilliant to see footage and a knowledge of an area i know so well. You`ve answered a few ponderings ive had about what used to be. its kinda hard getting first hand knowledge about such a local subject from a time ago. would be good to see more stuff about burnleys history. cheers again

Your comment made the video worth while making.....so much has changed over the years but there are still one or two remnants that would be worth a little video....as we get older the long term memory gets hightened.....hhmmm might have a go under the railway arches where the abattoir and gas works used to be near the now famous "Magic Roundabout"
      ......Happy days.....Thank you.

@@mixwizard2310 that would be good too, like i said any knowledge of the past local area is interesting and quite sparse on youtube, so would be great to see more of it..

Covid has put a dampner on many things but another trip to a well known spot could be on the cards now that restrictions are lifting. Thanks for your comment...Alan.
