The LEGO Indiana Jones Iceberg Explained

- I love the LEGO Indiana Jones Franchise. I've covered various trivia, secrets, speedruns, and challenges, but today, I wanted to collect the most niche and out there trivia I could for a LEGO Indiana Jones Iceberg. I did the LEGO Videogame Iceberg months back, but a super focused one on LEGO Indiana Jones allows for much more in depth analysis.

Thanks for watching! What was your favorite thing you've learned from this video?
The DS port being absolutely broken.
Been waiting for a Lego Indiana jones iceberg for a while thank you 🙏
You didn't link probiscus' channel.
Sallah's face in the rock. He's always watching.
That you're hot
the thought of dying without knowing what the green octagon was for terrifies me
i always thought it was a landing pad for the ufo, so i guess thats an option to imagine
i remember reading somewhere that it's used elsewhere on the wii version to spawn a UFO, so i'd assume it involves the UFO somehow
I said it once and I’ll say it again, George Lucas specifically requested the green platform, because and I’ll say it again ‘I want Indy to stand on a green platform’
honestly a very george lucas thing to do
I can completely see that. George Lucas won’t give the rights unless Indy stands on a god damn Green platform
Lego Indy 2 is revolutionary for being the only game to have an official vehicle called "fridge car", which you can purchase and drive.
“Official” what games have unofficial fridge cars.
@@ked49 You can obviously mod one into any game on earth, you can probably make one in a game like Lego Fortnite, for example. It's pretty clear what I meant.
And Create your own Levels
@@Fries101Reviews Lego harry potter also has that.

That’s not the American salute.
That’s actually the “Rimmer Salute”.
5 hand twirls before the British salute.
Never expected a LEGO game to reference Red Dwarf before LEGO Dimensions.
Oh my god yes it was
19:58 Speaking of non-John Williams music, the first Temple of Doom level in The Original Adventures includes some tracks from the 2003 videogame “Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb” composed by Clint Bajakian.
I had no idea!
Mindblown.
I've always wondered what the song that plays when 'select' the game is-not the one over the main menu or anything, but if you're playing on the Wii and select the game but don't hit play, it has this weird, kind of ominous song playing that, as far as I can tell, is not from John Williams' soundtrack.
I believe the music for LIJ2 Crystal Skull Part 3 Story Level 3 uses "Combat Mix" and "Fight in Panama" from Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings as well!
“I’ll leave the link to the Lego Indiana jones DS world record in the description” **doesnt leave the link in the description**

I think you forgot a star wars reference. In Lego star wars 3 there is a mini kit you get by playing a little mini game controlling indie on a screen (I believe in the hostage level)
You can find it pretty easy on CZcams
Thank you for mentioning the fact that both Lego Indy games use the Young Indy soundtrack, as I have made several OST comparison videos. Also you won’t get copyrighted for playing Young Indy music, I checked.
Lego Indy is the most underrated loved classic era Lego game
Thank you for showing it love it deserves
Fun fact: Marion has the wrong color of hair in Indy 1's box art (it's brown instead of black) and red arms instead of white.
Gives me memories back when I played the games on the Wii.
got a Wii and the first IJ on Easter when I was a little kid. so many good memories
I played number one on the wii as a kid, I could never get past the last mission in The Last Crusade for some reason as a child, picked the game back up on PC last year, and I actually 100 percented it for the first time.
@@ChrisDelSanto98 probably because you had to guess which chalice was the holy grail, if you picked the wrong one you would instantly die, don’t worry, I got stuck on that part for a bit as well.
Same, playing these games with my little brother was some of my happiest memories
They did Omar dirty 😭
That Green Platform I actually remember. I spent a lot of time figuring out what it does, then losing interest very quickly.
Using the first game's transition sound effects between segments was a nice touch. I keep forgetting that was a thing lol
I mainly grew up with the DS ports of all the classic Lego games. Although I did have TCS and Indy 1 on the Wii, which I played, I spent much longer on the DS ports due to family issues and not really being able to play the Wii.
Thus, I was surprised at how many of the cut characters of the PS/Wii version were ones I actually played with as a kid !
it is an event when bd1p uploads.
“There’s nothing special about these characters, they just exist” describes most of the characters in this game pretty well tbh
Fun Fact: Some of Indy 2's cut characters appear as enemies in the horde levels, like the Pankot Guard & the Motorbike Enemy Soldier. These characters can become playable if you hit them Mola Ram's Black Sleep potion. It's like a mind control ability similar to LEGO Batman's Riddler & subsequent super hero games, where you can control another NPC as long as they're within a certain range.
I was so shocked to find out this hidden feature as a kid.
I remember finding that wacky thing with the boat to get into slave driver cave... such an amazing part of the ablng route
It’s interesting to see the Thuggee Slave Driver Chief in game. I like to think that he was gonna be the main boss and the other Thuggee Slave Drivers were just gonna be goons similar to how it was in the movie. The Chief Slave Driver also looks notably closer to his movie counterpart when compared to what we ended up getting.
I don’t remember fully if it was the chief or not, but on the DS, the slave driver also had a whip, being the only other character with one, besides Indy
Similarly to that AMAZING discovery you found that the Venice music being sourced from Young Indiana Jones Adventures... a bunch of music tracks in Lego Indy 1 came from Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb.
Weren't a lot of the cut LIJ1 characters in the DS version? That was the one I grew up with and I feel like I remember Thuggee Maharajah as well as some others being present and playable.
23:05 Could be a reference to him reading the newspaper upside down in The Last Crusade movie. Or I'm reading too much into it.
18:05 this scared me when I saw it on the video. I didnt think it was possible to do that in the game and tbh i still dont understand why when the character dies his head just disappears, its so weird
LIJ2 was my first Lego game. Maybe my favorite one too.
A Skywalker Saga style Indy game would be cool. I actually didn’t know there was gonna be a new show until you mentioned it in the entry!
Not sure if anyone knows this. But in Indiana 1 for the Wii in the Trouble In Sky level there is an infamous glitch. At the end of the level should you climb to the top of the ship to get the purple studs then finish the level the game would crash every single time. A hard crash as well as a horrible buzzing noise. To this day I have no idea why it happens, but there was a form post about it on GameFAQs so it's at least known to the Wii players. Don't climb up the crows nest and you are good.
Also, during the final level of the holy grail, I ran into an unknown glitch where the Jenova puzzle messed up and the stones would not light up thus the door would not open either. Restarting the level fixed this issue however.
I don't know if either of these are iceberg worthy, but I just wanted to tell someone about this as I think it's slightly interesting.
Damn 4 minutes. Still can't believe icebergs are being made for games, but I sure am not complaining, these are amazing.
Wasn’t the Mario 64 iceberg one of the ones that made icebergs popular.
@@luckysix1015 yes, but that was back in like 2020-2021, that video's getting kind of old, I'm just surprised people are still actively making them, specially for a game like LIJ.
@@AMentalFailure Honestly, Icebergs are just a really good format for discussing the intricacies of any piece of media's deep lore. Just like how Tier lists became a better way of making "Top 10s". They're creative, fun, have a unique "forbidden" vibe as you get deeper down, and I don't see any reason why they should fall out of fashion...
6:34 regarding Build Your Own Adventure: did anyone have a glitch where the vehicle you chose to use just never worked. So you and the second player walked on foot everywhere? That aggravated kid me to no end.
The hidden entry is "Dog Picture" in layer 3, a reference to the real photograph of a dog attached to a post, in an optional minikit room in City of Danger from LIJ1. I forget the story behind it though. If only his majesty @bd1p could explain it somehow...
been waiting for this video my whole life thank you
Another interesting fact for LIJ2 is that you can find pictures of the real-life builds for some of the game's vehicles taken by the game's model designer Carl Greatrix on Flickr and Brickshelf.
Other things you could’ve mentioned:
Lego Indy on the DS has unique Star Wars cameos
You could’ve brought up the version differences between the trailer and the final game
Indy can pull out a pistol in the first level and the boulder sequence looked a little different
They also called the game “Lego Indiana Jones: The Video Game” so as a kid I thought this and The Original Adventures were 2 different games
The C-3PO & R2 mural is also present on an actual Lego set based on the scene from the movie
And going further, the mural can be seen in Raiders of the Lost Ark, as well
You could’ve maybe mentioned some trivia/fun facts in correlation to actual Lego sets, but that’s all I wanted to add
Loved this video and your content in general it’s really fun!
Beta snowman -
in the files for LIJ1, there is a scrapped beta snowman. What's strange is in the DS version of Lego Star Wars II, the final bonus level contains that very snowman...
like 6 years I had a bad trip and I started hearing the music from Lego Indiana Jones when shit goes down, like at the part on the very first level where a giant skull shaped boulder keeps falling from the ceiling with spikes beneath, let’s say I was really stressed when that happened to me
Henry looking at the wrong side of the map could just be the map being folded so we're seeing one side of the map and he's seeing the other
I thought the same thing! Or maybe there's something written back there... Like a cryptic riddle to find a hidden treasure?
@@hgarr I like that idea too
oorrrr they are just referencing how henry read a newspaper upside down on the movie
Awesome, man. Thank you for making this video
in lego skywalker saga in the 7th episode when you can play as han and chewie the first time there's a indiana jones easter egg
They done my boy omar dirty twice
2:50 not to mention the massive statues of the Hindu goddess Kali in the game and the whole temple of Kali level
Interesting that the Indiana Jones level builder is more in depth than the Harry Potter one as the latter is a more in depth franchise
There are also Indiana Jones references in the “ambush!” And “hostage crisis” levels in LSW3!
In the custom character builder, if you scroll through the weapons, you’ll get to a custom Kar98k weapon model that isn’t used in any of the levels. It’s a shame as it’s really cool!
Dial of Destiny didn’t even have its own Lego sets. When Lego brought back the Indiana Jones theme to coincide with the release of Dial of Destiny, they only put out 3 sets, none of which being based on Dial of Destiny. One was based on Raiders and the other 2 based off Last Crusade. There was also a cancelled set based off Temple of Doom
I was recommended the series and decided to see what it's like by looking up videos and MAN THIS GOT ME HOOKED it sounds so interesting, def getting me to check out the Lego indy games :)
refreshing vieo as always! love your content keep it going
I still wanna believe that Lego Indi 3 will happen, maybe taking a page from Lego Pirates book and having the Disneyland Indi ride as a bonus level
Very unlikely at this point, since modern LEGO games have full dialogue they'd have a much harder time working around Nazis and Soviets than they did 15 years ago.
@@retrobrickreviews687I’m sure they could figure something out
This was an awesome video
I called it on the community post there's text in red font at the bottom left of the iceberg image ;)
BD1P why haven’t you let us out of your computer, we don’t want to be the characters you play as in these LEGO games. Please let us out. Please.
The world needs LEGO Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail!
Henry also has the grail diary printed onto his torso
Some of those cut characters were still featured as custom character parts in Lego Indy 1
7:35 You forgot The Obi-Wan Club in the Temple of Doom map in LI2
7:10 i love star wars easter egss
default blender cube my beloved
Seeing all those scrapped characters for indy 2 makes me hope someone makes a mod pack with ALL of them or even a couple
You should do this for every Lego franchise
In the Lego Indiana Jones for the DS there is an Ewok in one of the jungle levels.
That green platform must have been inspiration for the "foundation of all dimensions". Even Batman calls it a green square
I've had first lego Indiana Jones demo version around the time when the game came out and after playing the demo way over 100 times for sure I finally got the full game and I remember that it felt way different than the demo like the full version was cut or sth i wonder if it has anything to do with this forgotten demo
Star Wars Easter Egss
God I haven't thought about the green octagon in so long. I remember as a kid thinking it was a part of a puzzle I forgot that I already completed
Don't mess with Young Indy show fans, we all discovered this because of the lego game
I wish Lego would pick up the Indiana Jones Ip more. They only made three sets last year, and didn’t even do anything for Temple of Doom, Crystal Skull or Dial of Destiny. Imagine if they made a new game with a more comprehensive roster and all five films adapted.
9:05 SO THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED! I had that happen as a kid and I was absolutely devastated and now I know why!
I shared this video on a Discord server, and someone said they thought you were AI generated because of how you move x)
Enemy butler is just Alfrid with a stuble
THATS HOW YOU GET 11/10 kits?
I did that in lego indie and the complete saga. I just thought there was 11 as some developer oversite.
3:24 the DS ver and the 2nd game completely dropped the blue eye and blonde hair
bd1p my saviour 🙏🙏🙏
A thing I've never heard anyone talk about is the horrible, horrible localisation of Indy 2. It had left me incredibly confused as a child, but only really noticed it while playing.
What I noticed through this video is that "Erster Gefährte" is actually supposed to be "First Mate", while the German translation is something along the lines of comrade or companion. The correct translation would be "Erster Maat" and I guess they took "mate" a bit too literal.
The same applies to the Level names, with absolutely baffling names like Shang-Hoch (literal, nonsensical translation of Shang-High) and "Mappen-Raum-Mysterium", translating to folder room mystery, as map and mappe don't refer to the same thing.
What I to this day don't understand is calling the turrets you can place in the level builder "Kranz", meaning wreath. I don't even know how you can mistranslate a turret like that.
The worst case though has to be Kurze Runde. Yes, they even translated Short Round.
None of these issues were present in Indy 1, which makes me think that they outsourced the translation to the cheapest possible translator.
7:18 Egss
You forgot the Ryloth Ark in Clone Wars and Skywalker Saga, it's clearly a reference to the Ark of Covenant
TheGreenPuff!
3 minutes ago is crazy
Another Star Wars reference is when you hand over the idol to Belloq, Indy gives him the head of C-3PO first.
That was a cool video.
I think you could have added an entry titled "Realistic weapons", in the same layer as "religious art".
Lego Indiana Jones 2 is one of the very rare official LEGO product to feature realistic-looking weapons (namely, machine guns and artillery pieces). This is unexpected since LEGO usually has a policy not to represent any modern-day weaponry in their sets.
I hope we get a new Lego Indiana Jones game that would include all five movies in it
Enemy butler is the same model as Alfred in batman
wooo yeah baby
Funny there’s a joke about the word idiot in young Indians Jones involving Henry.
where can i download the mod that adds back voice files to lego indy 2?
Ngl, i kinda how they do a "Skywalker Saga" treatment for a new Lego Indiana Jones game
I've actually seen the ufo park itself on the green platform on the xbox 360 version
you need to look into the Conan O'Brien lego Indiana jones cross over.
Really good of you to actually do a face cam while you read the list. Shows more dedication then a simple narration.
Idk just a detail I like! Great content.
thank you!
I already asked you that your favorite Lego game is LIJ1?
Interesting fact regarding the salute, the German military did actually salute like the American military. The salute you're thinking of was more of a political salute.
What if the map is just folded and Henry is looking at one half of it? 🤔
nice video
This was the first lego game ive ever completed
I'm replaying the lego indi titles, first game is rougher than I remember but still having fun. Idk how I feel about 2 yet, gonna try to keep an open mind but didn't enjoy it much originally.
13:00 XD Satipo looks stupid
You missed a big topic. That being lego Indiana jones was my first ever video game
And I thought I was an expert on the game lol a lot of these were news to me
Where did you get the footage of the cut characters in both games?
i modified my game and put them back in
@@bd1p Oh cool, is there a way for me to do that as well?
