- नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के नेता और जम्मू कश्मीर के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला ने कहा है कि कश्मीर में भाजपा की कोई मौजूदगी नहीं है. उन्होंने यहां किसी उम्मीदवार को नहीं उतारा है. इसकी दो वजह हो सकती है. पहली ये कि उनकी यहां कोई मौजूदगी नहीं है और दूसरी ये भाजपा किसी मुसलमान को टिकट ना देने की अपनी परंपरा को जारी रखना चाहती है. उमर अब्दुल्ला ने कहा कि अगर आगामी दिनों में जम्मू कश्मीर में तय समय पर चुनाव होते हैं, तो उसमें जीत मिलने के बाद स्थानीय निवास से जुड़े कानून अमल में लाएंगे. देश के कई हिस्सों की तरह यहां भी बाहरी लोगों को ज़मीन ना ख़रीदने दी जाए, इसे सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा. इंडिया ब्लॉक के बारे में पूछने पर उन्होंने कहा कि उम्मीदों से बेहतर साझेदारी बनी है और पीडीपी ने नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के उम्मीदवारों के मुकाबले में दावेदार क्यों उतारे, इसका जवाब महबूबा मुफ़्ती दे सकती हैं.
