Alohe from Hawaii🌺 Thank you for the update! I was just thinking of your Gold breasted waxbills. Mine currently have 2 chicks hatched and i plan to grow my population due to the shortage of them in Hawaii. At the time, there’s at least 4 of us, that i know of, that have a female Gold Breasted waxbill. Two of the 3 other people got their females from my breeding pair. There’s at least 3 other people that have them, but they only have one male and one of them came from me too. I would. Be really sad to see these teeny tiny waxbills disappear in Hawaii Aviculture.
An, Totally understand that, I feel like we have an individual bond with our birds, some more than others. I have a handful that people swear are tame, I tell them there are not tame, they are not afraid, so when they land on me, its that they trust me. So of course we miss that connection...
Back in the day……I had a pair of gold breasts. When I’d add fresh water into the (too deep) water bowl, that tiny female would perch on the side of the bowl, SCREAM with joy, and then flop/swim the 4-5” to the other side. And repeat. Too adorable! She had personality. Good luck with the eggs!
شكرا لك ولذوقك ولإهتمامك بالطيور وعلى هذا المكان الجميل والرائع

They are getting a bit scarce here too. I can not imagine an aviary without them
@@Echosaviary neither can I. In the morning, they are the first to wake up and sing. And that’s the only time they sing or make any sound.
How exciting love love love ❤

My condolences on Sven.
Thanks Doug, I miss his presence.
An,
Totally understand that, I feel like we have an individual bond with our birds, some more than others. I have a handful that people swear are tame, I tell them there are not tame, they are not afraid, so when they land on me, its that they trust me. So of course we miss that connection...

Oh my gosh, I can envision what you are describing but would give anything to see with my own eyes! Thats an awesome memory to have.
Can I keep Gouldian finch and Parrot finch and canary together? In 25 feet x 15 feet x 15 feet (height).. ? Please say
yes
be careful of mixing parrot finch species, they will hybridize.
