Hi Charlie, whenever I have any doubts about buying our Meteor, ( 😁😁having 300 mile service today) I just watch one of your fabulous videos...and realise why we did it...extra training booked for next week...hoping to sort rack & panniers out ASAP 😀👍 thank you very much!
Hi Andrew, thats so nice of you to say this. I didnt think it would be possible to love the bike more than i did already, but this tour has managed it! Stay Safe. 😃
great vid 😊
Great! These are the ways I'm looking for. 😊
Файна подорож) автору публікації вподобайка за роботу і відео УДАЧІ!
дуже тобі дякую. 😊
Love the road trip videos. At my age and with the old guys I ride with we stay in Hotels with beds and free breakfast. The roads over there are narrow, by Canadian standards, but look very appealing. Our once in a lifetime vacation, in planning. Going to Manchester; wife is Corrie fan, around Scotland and over to Europe. I assume dogging sheep is easier then avoiding deer and the odd moose here. Stay safe and keep riding.
Sheep do move slower and as they're fluffy they just bounce off. 😊
@@restdayrider LOL
🤩👍👍👍wonderful whit R.E. Meteor! Have a nice trip! 😘
Hey! Greetings from Germany!
I very much enjoyed this video and was reminded of a 6 weeks bycilce trip I did around 84 on Cornwall cost. Coming by ferry and got lost in Dover fighting the urge to create my own rules. I mean traffic. Start Driving left side is confusing in the middle of the day😂.
I am doing my bike licence next year and can't wait to visit Britain again. 😁God speed!
I always struggle for the first few minutes every morning in this country remembering which side to drive on. 😆
Greetings from down under. Thanks for taking us all along with you. Love your work, the soundtrack and the beautiful scenery. Thanks again.
Thank you Keith. 😊
Great footage. Your bike is loaded up! How fun. Beautiful ribbons of road, narrow and inviting. Take care from Minnesota.
England have such amazing roads 😁👍
We do, as do Scotland, Wales and Ireland and Northern Ireland, I can't wait to explore more. 😊
You go girl, your killing it on those little roads in the middle of nowhere. Don’t be bummed about needing help to back up. It happens, now you learned from it so you won’t do that again. Your camping setup is great. But I would get a taller table. And a bigger tent. Comfort is what it’s all about. Your little Enfield is just chugging along. Good for you. I would be honored to ride with you .
Thank you very much. Have no fear, i swallowed my pride and just confidently enlisted some (albeit rather drunken!) help. 🤣
I just subbed today and am currently binging on your videos. The countryside in the UK is so intriguing for me. On a side note I had a long time lady friend who's name was Charlie (Charlotte) She was very interesting just like you. 😊 Cheers from the US of A.
What a great video, thank you. Such a magic trip, & such beautiful countryside to ride through. I live in South Africa, & have ridden motorcycles pretty much my whole life. It's always been a bucket-list wish of mine to do a motorcycle tour through the UK.
Hi Ian, I bet South Africa has better weather! What are the roads like? 😊
Bonjours, enfin de vos nouvelles...désolé pas de traduction automatique pour l'instant...mais un paysage cadre magnifique, merci pour ce partage.✌🇫🇷
Merci Alain, le paysage était vraiment magnifique. 😊
I honestly could have wept for you eating that last meal sister.. That was a cry for help lol… Great video, huge thanks for sharing your journey
Thanks Duke, I did pull myself together. 😊
Love this. Great video. Am in Fairford near Swindon so it’s interesting to see your route.
A great start to you great adventure

You're welcome. 😊
Brilliant vlog, look forward to seeing the rest of your journey. Thanks for taking us along with you.🙂👍
Thankyou Jonathan. 😊
Nice one! Lovely bit of Derbyshire you rode through and perfect roads for your bike! 👍

Thank you Charlie for taken us on your tour can't wait for the next video tbh , brilliant
Thank you Steve. 😊
loving the new channel ride
Love the tool kit! Awesome!
Thank you. 😊
Great video! I just stumbled across this and had to watch. I did my first motorbike camping trip in the spring, also up to Scotland, solo. (Did the “Crief Cloverleaf” ride while I was there, which is excellent BTW). Looking forward to watching more of your content 👍
Thanks Chris. 😊
Love it! You go girl! 😍 Impressed with the Meteor!
So am I! 😊
I feel like I'm travelling with you , can't wait for next video👍😍
Brilliant Charlie so pleased that your out there doing a proper trip, great to see that your not to bothered about sticking to a route it always more fun winging it a bit x
I totally agree! I winged it a fair bit on this one. 🤣
I enjoyed your video, well done! And I like your bike. Subscribed!
Thank you Jeff. 😊
yes! fellow swindon biker! i plan on doing this exact journey when ive finally decide which bike im replacing my rebel 1100 with :)
Awesome! Let me know how you get on!
Hello ,I enjoyed very much your trip all through the roads of beautiful Scotland .
Brilliant progress- lovely views of the Peak District.
It was stunning. 😊
Absolutely loving your video , much respect 🙏👏
Thank you Brendan. 😊
What a lovely little trip, some of the roads you took brought about fabulous scenery, and well done you for having the guts to ask for help, looking forward to the rest of the trip.
Thank you David. 😊
Great to see you're on the way. Been looking forward to this. Love the set of diggers in the tool roll. Ride on.
Thanks Tim. 😊
Brilliant video really enjoyed it,iv subscribed just going to watch part 2 👍
Fabulous, thank you. 😊
Hi, great start on your journey to Scotland and to other beautiful spots on route, myself and a few friends took a trip from lechlade to the outer Hebrides in 2018 , fantastic trip, we still meet up some Tuesday nights at the Bibury bike night where around 175 happy minded bikes meet up for a chat and a burger , all the best and look forward to seeing how the rest of your trip went , Mitch 👍
I may try and make the Bibury bike night some time. 😊
Thanks for the entertainment, it really helps me while I’m at working dreaming about motorcycles and camping!
Don't just dream, plan and do it! 😊
Watching this on a Monday morning before work. Brilliantly done. Look forward to the next episode.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed the video. Thought it was very well put together.
Thank you. 😊
Ohh that was excellent! Thanks for sharing. ✊
Thanks Billy. ,😊
So, so great! Beautiful, inspiring, and funny at the perfect moments. Your note on using new editing software explains why the sound levels varied so much, but I'm sure you'll even them out on future posts. The music at mark 8:20 fit the visuals so perfectly I was very moved by the stark beauty. Looking forward to your next chapter! All the Best from Kentucky!
Thank you Pete, I am definitely trying to find my feet with the software, and sound is something I really am struggling with. I'll keep trying! 😊
Devils Bridge, very popular and well loved biker destination up here in the North West.
Great video I'm a new subscriber and looking forward to seeing more stuff 😀
Thank you 😊
Love that tool/food kit 😍
It's from MotoGirl. 😊
Like everyone here I really enjoyed riding along with you, on real roads at real speeds. Can’t wait for the next exciting episode! Thanks.
Hi Nigel, thank you very much. The next episode is nearly ready. 😊
What an amazing adventure loved your videos.
Thank you Nigel. 😊
English is not my language (you see) but I realy love this film, so charming with a nice attitude on traveling as a single motorcyklist.
Thank you. 😊
Your zip moment made us both laugh, especially when the chap asked if you were Ok, hope you got the Zip sorted
I fear the zip is forever failed. New jacket time! I'll keep the old one incase I can get someone to repair it. 😊
That was fun, and a good tip on checking luggage for security after a few miles!
Taking the back roads, as you are, is so invigorating and enlightening, I have done the long fast blasts many a time, all that gains is time.
It is about the journey as much as it is the destination if time permits I think.
I feel your tears, we all do I'm sure....
Thank you Geoff.
The start of a wonderful adventure 🤗👍🏍️
Wow Charlie, 1.5 K views in 16 hrs That’s brilliant 👏 Sooo very well done I enjoyed it muchly thanks for the upload till the next. M 🏍💨 x
Thankyou Martyn, its getting there! Hopefully i will get quicker at the editiing on this new software!
Well done. I've been riding every day for 45 years and never done a solo 'tour' so well done❤
Thank you John. 😊
Enjoying this
Nice to see you just cracking on with it
Keep safe and plenty more videos please
Thank you, am getting there, but working 12 hour shifts and then trying to edit stuff. 😊
Another lovely video, can't beat heading out on the bike and camping.
Thanks Janner. 😊
Fair play to you, cracking vlog. Really enjoyed it & quite inspirational. Came across your channel as been umming & arring about getting a RE. Tested the Meteor & Classic, preferred the Meteor but still not sure it's got enough for me. Really interested to see how this trip pans out on yours. I'm a fan of the back roads but your really off the beaten track there. Travel with a mate or 2 generally but feel I need to have a crack at a solo trip someday.
Looking forward to your next episode. Ride safe
Thank you Andy, I do love my meteor, and it was so much fun and reliable as anything on this trip. If you want a little more horses... Maybe wait and test the 650 Meteor twin that's coming out..... I know I will be!
Just subscribed and I'm loving your videos. Stay away from main roads and motorways and an Enfield is all the bike you need . Great content . If I'm ever in an RTC I hope it's you that cuts my trousers off 😂😂
Paaahahahaha! I always try and avoid cutting now I know how expensive this stuff is, but if someone's in joggers , T shirt and trainers then I won't have to do any cutting as they disintegrate anyway. 😭
Seeing those cutlery tools made me laugh sooo hard. But what an genius idea, whoever came up with it.
😂😂
Edit: typos
Great aren't they!
Your editing skills are great Charlie, which makes your videos truly a joy to watch, well done and thanks for sharing such awesome new life experience! 👍👍
Thank you very much! It's complicated and I'm still learning. 😊
@@restdayrider you're doing great then Charlie 👍👍
Great video looks like the weather was dry, and congratulations on getting over a 1,000 subscribers, nice to see someone who love's motorcycle so much they eat dinner with spanners 🤣 👍
Well, why wouldn't you! 🤣
You are "the most Real" lady on youtube in my opinion. I hope you grow your channel as big as Noraly's Itchy Boots. Many thanks for the inspiration. I am still desperately trying to get out of 1st gear in order to get my CBT certificate. At 53 and health issues confidence is hard to come by. But you show me that its possible. Thanks :)
Thank you so much Angie, I'm now 52 and have had my licence 2 years and am still learning every day! Please do dig deep and go a safe and supervised smidge beyond your comfort zone each time, on the other side is a fabulous adventure. 😊
Brilliant !!.
Love the cliffhanger ending.
The Peaks are my stamping ground so it was good to see the places I am familiar with. The Miners Standard I know well but have never camped there . Always looks a bit crowded.
I like Hulme End campsite ,Hartington, next to a pub and you do not have to book ,just turn up the field is huge.
Castleton .Bertie was a rope maker and probably worked in one of the Caverns which you can still tour and see a demo of rope making.
The cavern is called "The Devils Arse",
Sometimes climatic and pressure condition cause a huge blast of air venting from the cave with loud trumpeting noise. Hence the name.
Your packing was great and the collapsible thingy pan I have bought for my next trip. The security net for your gear is on my list.
I went upto John O Groats last month and did it with one stopover. Too rushed.
Stopped at Kilvrecht campsite at Loch Rannoch ,great site ,cheap and good basic facilities . ( mosquito net hat needed).
Want to do Skye next but will definitely take it more slowly ,you miss so much trying to do too much.😀
Hi! , I know what you mean about missing stuff if you go too fast. It's all about the journey not the destination! The Collapsible kettle was amazing, I really want to invest in more from that range.
Ride safe and keep your travel updates coming. 😊
Just discovered your channel. Awesome video, really enjoyed watching 👍🏻
Thank you. 😊
HI from your NiAS colleagues especially Coleraine Stn Riders, seeing you wake up in your tent reminds me of why Air b&b is so great # Toldtocamp 😃
Hi! Yeah , that feeling hit me too. 🤣
Nice one castleton is a beautiful village place some history there devils bridge is a very popular bike meeting place love the footage going on them lanes stay safe 👍👍🙏
Great video. Respect for fully laden Meteor! Yes, Devil’s Bridge is very popular with bikers as you gathered - never seen anyone jump off of it though. Love the ‘tool kit’.
Thank you. 😊
Luv it.Scottish biker woman wakes up & rides.Haggis dreams & reality. After pub things get no it's ok.Sleep(very necessary for bike rising, even a yawn with mind control. This vid.is a change from more proffessional types.
There's nothing professional about this I can assure you. 🤣
That sure is a beautiful route that you picked for your trip! Perfect bike for the job.
It absolutely was. Keep watching for more vlogs, the roads just get better! 😊
Just found this video and really enjoyed watching it. Solo riding is a nice thing to do. You do it well. 🇸🇪🇬🇧👍🏻🍻
Thank you Jon. 😊 Make sure you're subscribed for the next installment!
The Meteor is a cracking little bike, I test rode both the Meteor and the interceptor and thought the Meteor was a far more comfortable bike to ride and handle over the Interceptor. I actually ended up buying a Benelli 502C as I wanted a few more horses. The Meteor with the Interceptor engine would be a winner for me. Loving your trip, can't wait for the next episode.
Thank you Steve, I'm excited to see the 650 meteor.... That I will most definitely be test riding!
Hi, I found your channel by accident, but I've already become a fan :-) ! The visual world, editing and narration are super good!! Happy riding and video making! Greetings from Hungary !
Thank you very much Bial. 😊
Salve, seguo sempre i tuoi video e devo dirti che fra tutti quelli che girano i tuoi sono i più interessanti. Ckmplkmenti
Grazie mille 😊
I don't know how you appeared on my feed but I've just binge-watched 6 videos 😆 Great stuff ! Inspirational and entertaining..very well done 👍
Fabulous David. 😊 Thank you. 😊
You got me hooked. I'm spending my weekend it seems binge watching and playing catch up on your videos. I am find them both entertaining and quite delightful to watch. I have subscribed and am following. Two thumbs up.
P.S. Really loved the one where you got your dad's old bike fired up. My dad was quite the rider back in the early 5o's through the late 60's. He loved the Triumph and his Harleys. I was a Harley, Yamaha, and Honda fan. Actually looking at your bike now. Anyway - catch ya down the road.
Thank you Rusty! Stay hooked. 😊
That was great, thanks Charlie, I’ve been watching daily for your moves 😇
Thank you Geoff, sorry it's taken some time!
@@restdayrider don’t you dare be sorry, you are very much admired from afar and your posts appreciated muchly
Charlie did you happen to weigh all the gear you loaded your 350 with by chance ?
@@geoffballe8766 I didn't, and I really should have. I will definitely do this.
Great video! Love the cutlery!
Thank you. 😊
Excellent mate, last time I watched your vlog I was up on a tour of Scotland in July, JEALOUS!!!!, Good skill with the mark one sat nav, ie a good old fashioned map👍 tech will always let you down imo, ride safe looking fwd to the next instalment.
Thank you Chris! 😊
stumbled upon your vlog and extremely glad i did. Good luck for the rest of your journey (which i assume you have already completed) i know i will be watching the rest.
Thank you! 😊
I like that solo moto camping
Love your channel brilliant no frills just as it is I try and use roads less travled please keep your video coming ❤
Thanks and welcome to the channel! 😊
enjoyed the video..keep it up!
Thank you 😊
Just loved the eating utensils.😃
Really enjoyed your content, Fond memories of Devils as used to tour the lake district a couple of times a year. In all the times I have been there never seen a bridge jumper, from what I remember its a narrow deep channel and either side very shallow so broken legs or broken everything if you miss the middle.
Love the cutlery set, never seen them before.
Liked and subbed.
Hi, thank you for stopping by and commenting. Yeah, the bridge jumper did make me wince a bit!. The cutlery set is from a company called MotoGirl. Stay tuned for more. :0)
Wow. What a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing. I'm now wondering how I might do a bike trip the next time I visit the UK.
Anything is possible. 😊
Brilliant video! Good job you brought the map, the satnav on the Meteor is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. By the way much of the stone in the Cotswolds is Cotswold stone, what else. Well done! I haven’t watched part two yet but am looking forward to it. 😊
Part two is in the making, there will be 5 vlogs on this tour , but I'm also working 12 hours shifts now so maybe one a week! Thank you for watching. 😊
Just discovered your channel (you have a new subscriber) and really enjoyed the vlog. Stay safe & have fun.
Thank you Steve. 😊
I tip my helmet to you, madam. A very courageous endeavour and very inspiring 👍✌
Thank you Glenn. 😊
A lovely lady, a lovely bike & your a real life, life saver! 😎👍
Thank you. 😊
Great video can't wait to see more, hope you find this adventure fun as its really good to watch, you are my hero biker I don't think I could do what you are keep it up. x
Thank you so much. You never know what you can do til you try. 😊
@@restdayrider When will you upload more on your Scottish trip? cant wait
@@skippercaship I'm working on it now, but also working 12 hour shifts on the Ambulance, so I anticipate a week per vlog, there will be 5 in this series o think 😊
@@restdayrider Ok thank you, will you give a bell notification when you upload the next video please? also, I am thinking of buying the meteor however my dealer has said the new bike will not have the tripper navigation, do you think the tripper is really of any practical use. Do you use it much? Thanking you Roger
Hi not sure how I activate a bell, I'll have to look into that! The tripper in my opinion is no great loss, I have used it, but it's proven inaccurate, difficult to interpret and therefore too distracting. If I purchased a Meteor without one, I wouldn't be looking to have it as an extra. I'd invest in the Quadlock system for my phone and use Google maps, like I do! 😊
Goodness gracious. What beautiful scenery. Wish I could ride the area but Ohio USA guy so I will live vicariously thru you. Fantastic video
Thank you Blaine, I'll try and give justice to the wonderful scenery I rode through. 😊
First time viewing, really enjoyed watching your adventures. Loved the utensil spanners 🙂 Here's to many more happy miles. (Subscribed too )
Thankyou Denise. 😊
@@restdayrider My name is Walter 😅 Deise is pronounced ( Day - Sha) 😁
Sorry Walter! 😱
Excellent...watching during one of my insomnia episodes ...and it didn't put me to sleep..ate boiled egg sandwiches. All the best.
Sorry you can't sleep, but glad I didn't help fix it! 🤣
Finally a channel of ridding and not just face time. I live in the North West desert of the USA. There is no scenery like this here. So, just take my Rad Power electric bike and park my but under a scrub tree and drink my beer. Or, my KYMCO Like 200i and do the same thing. I am 78 and would like to take off and travel, just have to work up the courage to do so.
Thank you. 😊
Fantastic... 🙂
Watched through my tv so just came to give a like and subscribe , great video thanks 👍🥂
Thank you Henry for taking the time to do that. 😊
Hi Charlie, good video as per usual. I use the EDZ inner shell on cold wet days. Really does it’s job and would have been good when your jacket zip broke! Seems a bit pricey but as I say is very good! David
Thank you David. 😊
Great video, new subscriber gained!
I’m mostly a solo traveler as well, but I always book a hotel in advance as I can’t face everything that comes with camping.
Hi James, Thankyou. 😊
15:10 now I understand why Brits like to jump from balconies to pools in Mallorca!😜 Nice trip though!
We love your "Scran Spanners!"
Theyre from Motogirl, as they were a gift id better not google a link. 😁
Awesome! ✌️🤘
Hi Charlie, I've just recently found your channel and am working my way through your videos.
Grear content and very well made, I love them. Sadly my biking days are well behind me now, I'm 72 in a couple of weeks but I can still enjoy bikes and biking through you and others like you. Keep 'em coming girl.
BTW you are the first person I've seen that uses the same vaping mod as me, the e-leaf. I have two.
Hi Graham, I'm glad you're able to live vicariously through others. 😊
