    Awesome video! You've made some excellent point about putting a handle on the flap. We'll definitely bring that new handle system to our gen-2 FTIMs as suggested. Again thank you for your time and feedback! James @ Vanquest R&D

      WandaH Thanks for the suggestion about the removable shoulder strap. We actually sell a universal shoulder strap now. You can take a look at that on our website. Works great with our organizers.

      it's been 3 years, and still no handle on the flap (which is GREAT, btw!). I suspect this is because you yourselves tried it out, and see that it doesnt work:
      - you really need that space in between the 2 zippers for the auto open to work
      - OR you need to close the zippers just at the right spot AND have that flap handle be right at the zip area for this to have any chance of working properly (and even then, that first bit of unzipping will still take some work)
      Granted, we'd all like for this to work without that gap, but realistically, I think the system has to remain as is for now...

    Great review and nice piece of gear. I have used the quick deployment tabs on some other items and they work fine. There is just a small learning curve getting used to the quick pull. You can also pull the zippers up pretty close on the tabs.

    The loops in the corners and middle, can be strung with cord to reduce its capability to fully open.

    Thanks for the thorough review. I read a few reviews on Amazon where people are not liking the stiffness of the zippers. Are you noting any problems with them? Maybe you could attach a larger grab handle onto that velcro pull tab at the top?

      As a lady, I would also like to see it with a strap and perhaps some loop velcro in that back pocket. I saw another review where the user had a Glock 19 back there.

    Do they really need 1000D for an organizer? Seems to add a lot of weight for something like this. I think 500D would be better.

    • @vanquestgear
      @vanquestgear Před 8 lety +1

      Dear Rob, thank you so much for raising such important question about 500-D vs 1000-D CORDURA. Yes, 500-D is 30% lighter than 1000-D, but because CORDURA only accounts for a portion of the total weight (zipper, buckles, webbing, tapes, labels added together weight more than CORDURA alone). One day we may use 500-D CORDURA on larger items, but for a small product like the FTIM, the weight saved would be about 1/4 oz. I hope my answer helps. James @ Vanquest R&D

    • @dot5425
      @dot5425 Před 8 lety

      +Vanquest Gear Would there be any cost savings by using 500-D that would reduce the overall price substantially?

    where do you guys get these cool velcro patches made?

  • @Paul-eb3pg
    @Paul-eb3pg Před 8 lety

    The idea of keeping it open to rain is kinda hard to believe they were that careless, they could have put one of those nice loops on the front enabling the zippers to work. Kinda hard to understand. They should change it immediately and sell those at half price for people like us to give our feedback. I am so glad you are honest as usual thank you.
