Proves Hip Hop is universal...man, really impressed by our Japanese brothers
straight up 🔥🔥 music is a universal language !
Hell yeah! They didn’t water it down or destroy the important culture of it. They did a great job grasping it and created awesome pieces of art.
Music is the language of the soul. There's nothing else like it.
No

I was listening to this mix in Tokyo, in Odaiba's statue of liberty park, in the night time. No one around. The rainbow bridge in sight blinking, cars going in and out, and the skyline shining in the back. What a beautiful feeling.

Top 10 reasons to learn japanese.
1. Play games that are never getting translated
2. To appreciate BARS
🤓 i love japanese culture
To... hentai
most untranslated games are in Chinese
To read doujin
honestily just to buy manga in native language ;-; so many fucking untranslated shit its almost like a joke
First track is fucking masterpiece
If only I knew what they was saying I guess flow sounds the same in any language , sounds dope though.
Rest in peace to the leader of that group
Agreed!
@@WaldoBagelTopper don't worry japanese are not understand lyric too.
I knows is from Buddha Brand, but what's the name of the song?
Don’t know what they saying but the flow and the beats are unfuckwitable just a whole different vibe I love it
aye word bro i said pretty much the same thing! dunno what they saying but its straight fire
@@simplejaydan7483 fr trus bro I’m half Japanese and I like to say I’m fluent and even for native listeners it’s harder to catch onto what they’re saying compared to US/UK rap.
@Crazyk Yamada yeah man, I was born in 港区 but I live in the UK, wbu?!💯🤝
Unfuckwitable is the word
Bruh Japanese 90s hip hop is literally American 90s hip hop but in Japanese. It’s not like other genres such as k pop is nothing like American pop nowadays

I love how hip-hop can be so varied in production and flows across the board but still unambiguously hip-hop, sonically. Especially the sample based stuff. I'm definitely going to check out buddha brand.
Nowadays, same style everywhere whether be it american, japanese or any other countries. Rappers back then have individuality and distinctive style on their arsenal.
@@suiken3149 You just have to dig now. I get what you mean, but I think that's most commercial music in general. There's still great artists out there but you're unlikely to find them via word of mouth(depends on the mouth) or the radio.

It's part of the hip hop culture
But the roots can never be accredited to the creators because they are I mean simply put they are too dark of complexion to receive respect from anyone. Why? Idk
Japanese hiphop from the 90s is the coolest thing ever. Japanese is not as easy to rhyme as English, and we don't have a rhyming culture. Furthermore, people doing HipHop in Japan had the image that it was just an imitation of America, and a lame one at that. They thought it was a clone of America and that the real thing was cooler. This was a generation that did not pay attention to such criticism and stuck to what they thought was cool. Because of them, HIPHOP took root in Japan. Especially in the 90's, there were many questions about how to reproduce overseas RAP in Japanese. It was a time when people were trying to figure out what kind of HipHop would suit Japan. It's imperfect, and yet it has its own Japanese quirks, which is really great.
shing02 a blessing to our ears from japan
Not cooler than the americans ones ngl
Why is this version of lamp eye - shogun different to the original I’ve been trying to find this version but I can’t.
I’m interested in you could actually name those quirks characterizing 90’s Japanese rap. I hear something different but I’d be curious if it’s known what they are.
Why isn’t Japanese easy to rhyme?
To all the people who didn't know that there was a hip hop scene in japan in the 90s: If there are humans there will be music!
Music has a soothing effect no matter the culture it was originating from.
WORD! 🖤
Along with the street racing scene in Tokyo back then, amazing era in Japan.

don't speak Japanese but how original the Japnaese instrumentals sound. I listen to Polish and American rap from the 90's and now Japanese. They all tend to have really good beats, all different from each other unlike in modern rap where it sounds the same. Don't understand the words but it still is something i'll probably explore some more
The first Buddha Brand song has something that give me sadness, happiness and nostalgia at same time
I agree

it also feels something similar to nujabes tracks imho
@@Junkkie It's in Samurai Champloo, my first ever anime other than pokemon. I went all in after that and never looked back lol
This is literally some of the best hip hop in the history of the genre. The early/mid 1990s are the apex of classic rap music. Unbeatable.
Damn. Japan has some crazy vibes in the 90s. I love it! Big up from Germany 🇩🇪
Did not understood a word they said but enjoyed every single second of it. Hip-Hop truly used to be magical.
I’m black and I love this music, the closest thing I have to be in Japan and you have delivered.

first Japanese pop blew up, now its time for Japanese Hip Hop
Japanese is my 4th language and I am giving all the Japanese I understand to make sense of the lyrics as much as I can.....I love it so much, the flows and bars are at par with 90s American Rap, so mindblowing.
I love hip hop so much as it held a special place to me when I was learning English. It made me absorb English faster and learned to appreciate wordplays and figures of speech, sadly modern hip hop ain't created like this anymore. Plus, hip hop beats get me going with my day.
I'm envious. Learning Japanese is my top language. I just got to put in the time to learn it.

I love that there is a whole Japanese hip-hop culture that’s running for decades... love from Amsterdam
I wonder if they found the samurai who smells of sunflowers.
I remember listening this same track listing when i was unemployed and slightly depressed in 2012, and i remember these songs making my day a lot prighter(and now also). Japanese hip hop instrumentals&sampling is so unique and the flow of Japanese language so cool sounding. Shakkazombie is awesome, i remember finding out from either cowboy bebop or some other. Maybe ghost in the shell series had these too.

Young people in Japan don't know these songs from the 90's because of the popularity of trap music, but I believe that Japanese hip-hop songs from the 90's, including the tracks, are comparable to US rap.

The Japanese are very thorough. So I definitely believe if understood the lyrics I would be blown away or confused cause of cultural differences.
@@WhentheBehelitScreams I think you are right, this scene in the 90's was not as popular as it is now, and I hope that the culture and street fashion of that time will come back.
