Green bars are where level up points have been spent. Every time you level up your sneaker, you get a few points to allocate as you wish. If you buy a leveled shoe with no green bars, you get to spend the points as you wish. If it has green bars, points have been allocated and you're stuck with them. I'd pass on a shoe with base E of 1.5, aim for one with at least 5 as the base stat for efficiency if you can.
I was hoping this strategy would still hold up in July, but it looks like the price of SOL, GST and GMT have all dropped significantly since then. With SOL being roughly $35 at the time of this comment, I personally think it's better to buy 30 shoes to maximize energy bars so you can maximize daily earnings.
This is a great overview of the app -- but my goodness how this has hysterically aged in the wrong direction in just a month's time! (I'm still walking daily using the app though, since I'd walk daily anyway, GST or no GST).
