The diversity of foods in the U.S.A and Mexico is really big. You'll need more than 100 videos to cover it all up. That's why some people may not feel identified with the foods shown in this video. Both countries have immigrants all over and that's what makes their cultures so rich, this may not look like "American food" for some people... but what really is then?

    • @juanluis2159

@@SmellsLikeNirvanna mexico does have immigrants from all over the world since the colonial days it had the most diverse colonial population in the americas and the culture impacted mexico, there are many things in mexican culture that might seem very mexican but has roots in India, China, Russia, Romani, Morocco, Egypt etc not to mention all these people genetically influence our gene pool which is why most mexicans are very mix racially which you can find youtube videos of mexicans taking a dna tes. Now a days its the USA due to its economy while in Mexico the immigrant population isn't as big as the one in the USA. Not to mention, the average American isn't mix race and everyone tend to marry within their own group creating. Mexico is a true melting pot country, meanwhile America isn't.

@Carlos M. melting pot of ethnicity. USA is a melting pot of culture. Difference. Mexico’s history of mixing was long ago, it’s basically homogenized at present. The USA hasn’t. There’s a difference between cultural melting pot and just being a racial one. It’s the reason why you can put an asian lady in this video with asian style food and call it American but if you did it calling it “Mexican” it will make no sense.

@@MAXRIMA22 first, make sure your mazapan is fully intact before you try it. Many people try to open it, and it is already on the verge of falling apart.
      1. Find a fully intact mazapan
      2. Slowly grab the mazapan from the middle wrapping that is sticking out (to be unwrapped). Once you make it looser, you will see the other edges that you can pick from.
      3. The point is to not put too much pressure on any corner, so start in the middle, and work your way to whichever wrapping part is available (middle one is most noticeable at first), until more and more edges from the wrapping slowly come undone.
That should help, and if it doesn't work the first time, try again :D ♡

Frankly, the food the average American is chowing down, is a lot more diverse than the "USA" food shown in your video, Tuesday tacos, Wednesday a pizza, Thursday chowmein, etc. you get the drift. Otherwise, the video would need to be recaptioned as "a week of Asian-American food vs. Mexican food".
Or even better, just as suggestion for a follow-up video, would you consider making a follow-up video, entitled "stepping outside my culinary bubble", when you would eat unfamiliar food (to you) that can be easily ordered in melting-pot LA, for a week or so, e.g. Ethiopian, Soul, Persian and Peruvian, which sound like interesting and contrastive options to me personally.

Why was my mouth watering ALL VIDEO???? I agree, she is asian American and her culinary experience is asian/American, not traditional American. Traditional American is donuts, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, croissants biscuits and bagels, burgers and hotdogs and southern foods like mac and cheese, bbq ribs , philly cheese steaks ECT! As a Mexican American my diet is very similar to my Mexican girl, but also it has a very traditional American twist.. I enjoyed the video! But I would also enjoy a video of a Mexican American vs Mexican food diary

The Mexican American girls food looked so bomb. Only thing I would have done differently would be to sub the bacon for nopales and have nopales with eggs and then sub out the meat for a veggie protein source. Her meals looked so good! I got so many ideas from her. Going to try making nopales quesadillas now. The Asian American girls food looks delicious too. I love vinegar foods but I have no idea how to cook any of it properly.
