For the people saying “He’s bisexual” or “Ever heard of bisexuality” etc. Yes, they have, they talk about it in the movie, and he is exploring his bisexuality. He even tells his friends and Rory that he is bisexual to pass it off.
I just saw it. It was one of the best things I've ever seen. I laughed. I cried. And in Todd's penultimate dialogue to Rory, I both laughed and cried. I could watch this over and over again.
@@candiedskull9841 There's nothing like it. It's been a while since I saw a romantic comedy film that really focused on the socio-emotional connection and bonding of two people more than the physical aspect.
@@hedayashona5320 Yeah, it wasn't explicitly conveyed but I'd like to think that the guy in the end was there as their 'third companion' for Rory because it was mentioned that Todd still hasn't tried to eat Rory out. 🤣 If that's not the reason, lol idk why
I don't like it. Very excessively theatrical, which can be very appealing if done right, but this seems quite odd. A failed attempt for a Jarmusch-Anderson charm.
I don't know if I want to see the movie, but the screenplay seems quite clever, and sardonically humourous. The dialogue had a Sorkin/Whedon-esque quality to it.
I just don't get it why people assume like the movie are going to be off. For me its not. Its really interesting to see someone else perspective. That, not every man who act feminine and sound less masculine are gay. You can not judge and define people by their appearance.
I think men need male figures too just like women need women figures. Sadly some many men don't have that. Still....metrosexual men are a thing and some cultures have more "masculine" men.
That's so true .. like my cousin is extremely flamboyant and loves more feminine things but he is still a straight male regardless of his personality or "predominantly female" interests
Totally agree, my brother-in-law is very feminine (But he can be masculine, depending on his mood) he has many male figures in his life and hasn’t experienced any trauma, a lot of people think he’s gay, but he isn’t, it’s just his humour, though the older he gets the more calmer he is and less feminine 🤷🏻♀️
This movie was beautiful. So glad I watched it. Made me laugh, made me cry, made me wish I could find my soulmate in this lonely world. Also, the music choices were amazing! That Thing by Hazel English is my new favorite song.
i loved this movie. finally getting past the glib neuroses and into human intimacy. so glad this film was made. it shines a light on what's missing and what's present in your life. hats off, brilliant yohhhh
Maybe because the film shows little interest in depicting character growth, preferring instead to present numerous characters spouting generalities about identity conflicts and questions?
Legit feeling to have. Loved the movie, but it touches on some of that existential whatever stuff, and it doesn't really have any feel-good moments to make up for that. There's also some ambiguity, in both the movie and the trailer, that could easily leave someone ruminating
I loved the movie even though it is clearly unsettling because nothing is as expected and there really isn't a way to figure out what's going on with the main character as he doesn't know himself. Also, instead of some huge epiphany we get lots of trial and compromise with an unexplained/ambiguous resolution.
@do you like pizza? cuz I want a pizza dat ass crazy is the point of the movie to confuse straight people who are unaware that they are make the lgbtq community look unsure of there sexuality...
Do u know what sexuality is?itz being sexually attracted to someone and the whole bloody point of the movie is that he isn't sexually attracted to her he loves her personality how well she understands him she is his soulmate
As a lesbian, I often think, "Man, wouldn't my love life be easier if I could date guys?" After all, there are men in my life that I think would make an excellent partner if I could only be attracted to them. The movie is exploring a gay man who acts on that feeling. I understand the desire for bisexual representation but don't deny gay experiences in the process.
The movie is not denying gay experiences (or advocating for bisexuality). It's a much more nuanced exploration of sexuality and the idea of what it means to be 'soulmates' and the dualities of romance, friendships and partnerships.
My God, this is really me. I thought a lot these days "I should give up men and try a girl. Could I do it? Would it work? Nah, I don't want to give my mom satisfaction.
It looks like it could be a good movie, but it feels a little aggressive, like its forcing us to acknowledge that its witty and quirky. It seems like something I'd like but for some reason I don't feel like watching it. Does that make sense?
@@megamoviez His friend mentioned that people like the main character (who go back and forth on their sexuality cause they have no clue) are part of why bisexuality is seen as a myth. Yes, they have, they talk about it in the movie, and he is exploring his bisexuality. He even tells his friends and Rory that he is bisexual to pass it off.
