    Billy, thank you so much for uploading these abridged videos. I need to study, but God knows many of us adults don't have time enough to work a full-time job, exercise, cook, clean, take care of our families, AND watching 90-minute classes all the time.

    I don't know if Billie will read this but I'm so thankful with him.
    You don't only help me learning a lot of korean in a easy way but also you help me a lot with my english. You are one of the only persons that I can understand without any problem. I stared learning korean before I stared learning english and that was a problem for me 'cause there's no content in my mother tongue to learn korean. There's only videos for hangul and how to introduce yourself :'D

      Have you found his beginner series? There's a playlist of 100 episodes. Each one is very quick and easy to fit in when you're busy. Highly recommend.

    HI, always me!! Taking advantage of your great lessons to solve some doubts I had when it comes to grammar. After watching this video and the one on "다 보니까" I was wondering, what would you say it's the biggest difference between these two forms? If I understood correctly, this form here seems more on a conscious level: "I realize something as a consequence of trying something else" whereas the other one sounds more like "I was doing an action and while I was doing it, something else happens that makes me realize something else"
    Like for example "등산을 일년 동안 하다 보니까 살이 빠졌어요!" compared to "등산을 일년 동안 해 보니까 살이 빠졌어요!"
    I don't know if these are the right examples, but basically... If I understood correctly the main difference between these two sentences is that the first one is implying "I went hiking for a year and before I knew it, I had lost weight!" almost unexpectedly; whereas the second one gives more the feeling like "after going hiking for a year, I lost weight!" as in: I was trying to lose weight and I managed after going hiking. Is it correct? Sorry my comments are always so long but I seem to have a problem every time 다가 is involved hahahah

      I recommend checking out the full live stream for these forms. In the end of each of the full versions, I give a summary of all the forms and how they're different. But I think I cut them out of all of the abridged lessons :)

    I have a sort of beginner grammar questions
    The sentence you used
    이 동네에 살아 보니 사람들이 왜 여길 좋아하는지 알겠네요
    Since living in a place is like you doing an action in certain places right, why wouldn't it be 이 동네에서??🤔🤔

    i have a question please, in the sentence 아기 키워보니 엄마 마음을 이해하게 됐어요. why is it 되다 and not 하다 at the end? what’s the difference?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před 2 lety +1

      Both ~야 되다 and ~야 하다 have the same meaning, but ~하다 is a tad more formal sounding.

      I just was thinking about "생각해 보면...", and from what I've gathered I guess it means "if you give it a thought", "if you try some thinking" ... and in English can be translate as "If you think about it..."/"When you think about it".
