This G5 storm literally didn't even disrupt cell signal so that's probably a good sign our grid is stronger than we think.
G5 is top level on a single scale, this recent storm was a weak G5 storm, so little effct. Solar storms can get strong enough to melt pretty much every powerline on the planet
