I just met Lou and John in Sebring for the Light Sport Expo. I'm in the midst of my training and have been looking for a plane to own. It's been a dream of mine since I was 12 years old. I'm now going to be 63. Bristell is the plane I am choosing. It drips excellence. Flies like a dream. There are lots of good planes out there. But Bristell is for the discerning taste. The fit and finish are unequaled. It's like comparing a Chevrolet to a Porsche. I'll take the Porsche please...John and Lou know this plane intimately. They are so willing to show you every great aspect of this plane. Quality, safety, and great communication from your dealer should be of great importance to anyone looking to buy a plane. Now I just have to pick the Bristell for me.
I had my first intro lesson when I was 11 then another at 13. Never got around to training, but here I am at 30 aiming for PPL within the next 2 years. I have been so out of the loop that I have been diving in learning about the LSA category that I completely missed. So far have been very intrigued with the Arion LSA, Lancair, and Vans RV. This Bristell is beautiful and I love the interior/exterior options they have - they're exactly the finishes I would want (BMW Charcoal/Ballistic Grey). One thing I appreciate about it (a trend that I am not liking on the other options) is the solid top. Everyone else is doing the full bubble dome with the interior flappy visor. I like that this one still has some solid top - it looks better and I'm sure functions better. Very elegant. Being an architect/designer, aesthetics are very important too!
I have been drooling over the Bristell since it was first brought into the US. When I first saw the TDO...I had that feeling one has when they see that pretty girl that makes their heart skip a beat. Currently looking at several different planes but I keep coming back to the TDO. Having met both Lou and John, a buyer couldn't ask for nicer guys to talk airplanes with. Good luck guys....maybe one of these days...;)
