I loved this show when I was a kid, and then it was Star Wars, then Star Trek, and then along came G I Joe, and now I collect the Battlestar Galactica Eaglemoss Hero collection, amongst G I Joe, and I have plans on making the models of Battlestar Galactica this coming spring with lights in them.

I feel so lucky to have watched this as a kid. It was fun, adventurous but had a an elements of darkness and danger to it as well. It was a good balance unlike most shows today that want to skew only in the doom and gloom direction.

Glen Larson is currently writing a screenplay for a new Battlestar Galactica movie based on the original 1978 Galactica series NOT the rebooted BSG.

Best sci fi series that should have been a mega franchise.

This was certainly a first best forward effort for Space Travel at the turn of this millennium..

The Star Trek TOS of my generation. So solid and dramatic. Morality play. Love it 2 this day. Cassy my favorite female on the show.

I was mentally involved in this show. I didn't understand all of the dialogue though. I was concerned for the cast. It was hard to find people on the playground that watched the show

The original is still way better than the remake!
And one person gives a thumbs down, wow.

Thanks for posting this! I liked it very much. I'm a great Glenn Larson fan, both Knight Rider and Battlestar Gallactica, as well as a Starbuck fan (of corse). I liked the new BSG series as well, but wish that they would have ended the original as good as the new one, with them arriving at earth.

This show had it's flaws and really could have used a scientific adviser so they could keep their terminology straight but all in all I think it was amazing and highly ambitious.

Is there the possibility of this being re-uploaded in HD?

I wish that Jane Seymour would have accepted the role and stayed the entire season she brought a lot of depth to her character and it was very sad but at her request she demanded that her character be killed off and if you watch the DVD set and the uncut scenes she actually dies in the movie that was cut out they thought they could convince her to do the series and she only agreed to do the first two episodes Lost Planet Of The Gods which was a great episode kind of sexist you know sitting there thinking that women should only be shuttle Pilots but I thought she brought a lot of good things to that episode also and unfortunately she chose not to stay with series

I have read that if they would have been renewed they would have a new producer and some of the characters would not be returning I heard that she was not going to be you renewed boje Cena was going to be recast because they felt that Marine Jensen was not delivering the character that she started out as but also as time went on you notice her role got reduced and I heard that her and Glen Larson did not get along Boxee would have been reduced and also the cylons so that means Baltar and Lucifer probably would have been a reoccurring characters I really like both Jay and I also like jelly and I never understood by Jolly's role was not up a little bit because he was part of the cast I really like Starbucks and Apollo I also like the dhamma I think that you know Colonel tigh could have been reduced he didn't need to be in every episode and the damn damn it come on you know that could have been reduced. But unfortunately I didn't get renewed and I read in a magazine that Cbs NBC were showing interest in it picking it up for a second season unfortunately that didn't happen and I think if they would have renewed it some of the characters would have roles have been reduced some characters probably would have been gone because it was sad that it got cancelled and it was still in the top 20 now what amazes me is they cancelled it but kept some of these stupid shows that were barely even hanging on to the ratings I know that the cast was shocked when it was cancelled because it was still in the top 20 and it would have been nice if it would have been renewed for a second season because then maybe it would have caught on and would have climbed back up into the top 10 but it also had to do with some of the episodes got stupid and not all of them I liked a lot of them especially Lost Planet Of The Gods and is planning on playing at zero and you know they were good episodes but there were also some Clunkers you know so unfortunately I've read that money was another thing um it's not like today that they could have did computerized up so it's unfortunate that it got cancelled in too bad I didn't get to do at least a second season
