    THAT...WAS...FRIGGIN...AWESOME!!! Holy smokes. You just cut everyone's workflow down by, like, 80%. Thank you for sharing.

    Absolutely amazeballs!
    And here I am creating a wall with 16 different clips, laid out by hand... This technique is _so_ much quicker.

      lucky, i was only "thinking" about making one lately and didn't do it yet. I was going to do it the same way you did.... I'm so glad i saw this video :D
      Motion is so powerful. I use it only to 0.1% of what it can do lol

    This is a fantastic tutorial for Motion newbies. Would you please consider posting a tutorial to show how to use the sequence replicator and 3D camera functions to achieve the look shown at 04:41 in this video? Thanks.

    Wow, that is insane! In a good way :-) Mark, you're a gem! Like somebody said below, Motion is so powerful , it's crazy what can be done with it. And realtime to boot. You and Simon Ubsdell are really showing the way. Well Done.

    This is so smart. I know how to do all these things individually but never thought to combine them to make a video wall.

    Thanks great tutorial. I did have one issue. If you DONT tick the 3D option in the replicator you will not get smooth playback and the RAM preview just falls over and crashes Motion after about 100 frames. Tried re-installing, deleting prefs etc. Motion 5.4.5.
    Once the 3D option IS ticked whether you're using 3D or not the whole system flys with no issues.
    Weird, I thought the 3D option would make is worse but it does the opposite.

    If I have 30 fps would it be 150 for the source frame offset? Nothing is happening when I do that. Each clip is 5 seconds on the test project I am doing.

  • @talln8
    @talln8 Před 9 lety

    Does this play all of the audio as well? Or is it limited to the video portion? You made it look so easy!

    • @rippleguys
      @rippleguys  Před 9 lety

      Nathan Indergaard So you want every individual clip exported from FCPX to have audio? If that were the case, what Mark demonstrates would not be possible because 1 clip needs to be exported in order to use the Replicator . Even if the single exported clip contained audio, why would you want 12 audio sources all playing at the same time?

    • @talln8
      @talln8 Před 9 lety

      I am creating a video where many people are telling about themselves, but at the end say the same tag line. I thought that having a bunch of them say the tagline at the same time would be cool.

    • @talln8
      @talln8 Před 9 lety

      I thought that I could also import the videos, split the audio from the video, and add the audio tracks in garage band to create 1 audio track for it. I was just wondering if there was an easier way, i hate when I find out after I do something that there was an easier way.

    Thank you for this great tutorial. I followed your instructions exactly. However, when I tried to create a new project and changed the fps to 24, it kept changing back to 59.94 fps. Can you shed some light on this for me. I am trying this for the first time. Usually, I do these type of thing manually or I purchase a plug-in or template. Thank you so much.

    • @markspencer3104

      Start with a new project set to the correct frame rate. If you have content in your project, you can't change the frame rate.

    hi! why if i put mask on my dropzone and put gradient to have some reflection effect it doesnt show or move., i tick luminence as well., but nothing happen masking is not happening.,

    • @rippleguys
      @rippleguys  Před 7 lety

      That is not how you create reflections in Motion. You need to create a floor for the main object to reflect from then tick the reflection box. Too many steps to even attempt to put into comments here.

    • @rob3982

      In your video wall created in the video, each clip comes in the wall separately. Some are flipping horizontally, but each is animated in its own way. Trying to figure out how to achieve that same result
