- 1969 Impala Junkyard Find. Another old Chevy bites the dust. This time its a 69 2 door impala custom that found its way into the yard. Now some may be thinking its just a 4 door but nope. Might be hard to believe in this day and age, a 2 door getting junked but here it is. This one was mostly complete but appeared to be a bondo buggy. Someone decided to customize the decklid to make it open sideways. The interior was pretty much all there and not in too rough of shape with only the steering wheel missing. I would say under the hood but there waa no hood on this one. The fender emblem indicated a 327 but not sure if it had been swapped out. All im all it was pretty neat to see but nothing really I needed on this one. I thought I could use the door glass for my 70 poncho executive 2 door but they were different unfortunately.

This car deserves to be saved, even if there is a lot of Bondo. It’s a shame if it gets crushed.
Definitely a keeper..How in the world does this almost complete car get junked..Amazing what people do🙃
Can't believe someone actually scrapped it that needs a home.
You'd be surprised with the vehicles this yard has gotten
Dear lord, what a sacrilege!! Had a 69 Impala myself, 396/400 she was a sweet cruiser.
Just like to say how much that I appreciate this channel, makes my day when there's a fresh post. Thanks!
Me too
Thanks, appreciate ya 👍
Best car I ever owned, back in 81. Custom coupe, 350 automatic, buckets and console. I felt like a gangsta driving it.
Hi Benny I love that 69 Impala Custom. it reminds me a little of my 71 Impala Custom. my first car my parents bought for me. big comfortable luxury!
Oh dang a rare 2 door in the yard what a dirty shame.
Wow a "shining star" Impala, rest in peace cougnut, shout out from the Bay.
I just got the resin body model to build the 68 impala I can only own models can't afford the real ones maybe someday!!!! Thank you for sharing brother!!!!
I had a '69 Impala during college. Great car. 👍
Glad you back with some junkyard footage Benny! I 👊🏾
Yep, I cant stay away from them yards 😄 👍
Whoa Nelley, it's a Chevy, and boy is it heavy (with Bondo/filler). I heard that comment. LOL.
We got the tag we can brag: 69 for 1969 model year, 16447 for Impala Custom V8 two door sport sedan, VN for Van Nuys, CA assembly, 806 for black interior trim, 65 65 for upper and lower Olympic Gold exterior paint, and 03A for the first week of March 1969 production. The trim tag doesn't indicate a vinyl top car from what I can see, but Van Nuys did some weird stuff on the data tags, so it's tough to tell. I might say no due to the emblem "scarring" directly on the metal like that. If it were on the vinyl top, I don't think it would be as pronounced as it is.
We got the VIN, we win: 1 for Chevrolet, 64 for Impala Custom eight cylinder, 47 for two door sport sedan, 9 for 1969 model year, L for Van Nuys, CA assembly and the rest is the production sequence.
Yes, I believe disc brakes were an option as far back as 1967, and power disc brakes became standard on the Impala with the 1971 model year. Those are the "hall of fame" of automotive aftermarket stickers indeed.
My friend that gave me the compressor called and told me that he found some more parts pertaining to it, so that's good news as it's less to buy if he has it. Also coming my way are two NOS back tail gate glasses for a K5 Blazer, one new in the box, one out of the box, a set of Rallye rims with the beauty rings and other assorted GM NOS parts. Should be an interesting haul, just have to make some room for them....
Whoa Nelley, a 327 and it's going to Heaven. V8 and used to be great. Olympic Gold and now it's old. Used to run like a deer, now the end is near. Going to be flat, and that's that. That's it, time to quit. Get the parts while you can before it's squished, because we're going to get pissed.
LOL!! Thank you! You provide a wealth of information, and have a witty sense of humor as well.
I presume it's a 210 horsepower 327 large journal 2 barrel engine. I had a friend in the early 80's that had one and it seems those engines the rings didn't last that long because everyone of them I recall had blow by.
This was the last year for the 327? The 350 took over completely in '70 and up.Good going decoding Mr.Google GP.
Most Chevy V8 engines of this vintage had oil control issues. The joke was that Chevrolet stood for Check How Every Valve Rusts Or Leaks Everytime.
Sure thing. Yes 1969 was the last year for the 327, it was introduced in 1962.
Very good shots of the vin number ,excellent.
Now there's one to save dam 2 door too..yup I'd be taking that one home
Same
can you get it put in your name if there's no title for the car?
@@nola504creole5 In some cases they can't sell you a car without a title.
@@nola504creole5 yah but the problem is...I live too far away how would I git it home..fly it lol..I think it would cost me nice piece of change to git it over here...I'll tell u what if it was a Oldsmobile cutlass like a 60's then yup I'd find a way git that thing here..but the only thing I really want out that car is that 327 engine..I've been lookin for one or a 427 not to be had around here..
@@nola504creole5 what’s the price and where’s this located. I’m in Arizona
Wow, that is a keeper for sure,it will sell.
A friend of mine had one of these. Triple black with hiding headlights. Power windows, seats and cruise. Managed to drive it into a brick driveway approach. He was able to fix it, but no more hiding headlights. It was a beautiful ride. I had a 70 model Impala custom. Stuffed a 71 400 in it, with a cam, edelbrock performer intake, headers with an electric fuel pump. A turbo 350 with B&M trans pack and ratchet shifter with a posi rear end. She was a runner. My to be wife didn’t like it, so I sold it. Should have just kept the car. Both gone now……
My wife was the same way till I restored a 1968 396 SS Chevelle for her. Numbers matching! I did tell her she has to buy her own tires.
When I was between 7 and 10 years old , my Dad owned a '69 Chevy Belair 4dr. , white with blue interior . It had two taillights on each side instead of three on each side like this Impala . I still miss that car !! I miss my Dad too !!
Wow what a find🤯 treasure
Code 65 Olympic gold metallic. I had a gold one with a black vinyl top. It had the 327 also with a 350 turbo. It was a nice car. The one's build early in the year had the 327 and then mid year or so they started using the 350, if my memory is not failing me. Then in 1970 you could get the 400 sb with lower compression thanks to Uncle Sam. All three engines got the job done. I have a factory am/fm/8 track for this car somewhere. My guess would be that all the missing parts were aftermarket and the owner keep them for his next ride and that some kid had it last and got it from his grandparents. Thanks for sharing your find. I sure hope someone saves it.
Can't go wrong with these vehicles, this 69 impala not bad to work on!
End of the Road for this Classic Chevy.
Around my aunt's house there sits a 69 impala 2 door blue. It's been sitting for a while now and I'm debating looking into it. The windows are down just like that one, one of my all time favorite cars. Actually, the 1970 is my ultimate favorite, but the 69 is a close second!!!
I have a 70 caprice 2dr .
I had one of those with the 396 engine in it for about a year. The only thing that had been done to that engine was a very small Comp cam put in it.
The flexplate ended up cracking and I didn’t want to go to the aggravation of getting it replaced so I traded it for a 1971 SS Chevelle rolling chassis in the early 90s.
It didn’t make big power but that sucker would get up and go!
That’s beautiful car and great project car
Those bumpers are worth good money!!
These were beautiful cars hopefully some one saves it
My aunt had a 69 caprice 4 door it had the factory hide a way headlights power windows
She was fully loaded
That Chevy impala needs to be saved.
Is already crushed!
Talk about a once in a Blue Moon occurrence! Looks to have been in car shows!
But this example also seems to have been hiding a LOT of rust in the A pillar, trunk lid, and driver's quarter.
Even if the glass didn't work, I"m sure there's quite a few hombres who need Impala glass!
I legitimately need all of those door panels! Especially the passenger side! Willing to pay for shipping too!
I have a 72 vert. Would LOVE to buy that!!! 😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Benny you should've put back the rear seat that you remove from the car regardless it's a junkyard, cause that rear seat is still great condition and can be in use for someone else...always remember safety protocol in a junkyard.
I usually do that after i finish the video. I think im gonna go back and buy the seats.
@@ClassicRideSociety Okay i'm glad to know that, cause everything on that car have alot of worth but i have to admit what a shame someone scrapped a staight keeper like that...but it goes to show not everyone understands the value of what they have.
Man that car needs to be saved, that is a gem and can be modified into a nice donk and taken to car shows
😮I would love to buy this !!!nice project car !!!
Unfortunately it doesn't exist anymore. They crushed it
LOVE that sled & I'm Ford guy typically.
Benny you got a new Camera👍
Ahhhhh... my second favorite impala. I seriously would want to save this one. Regardless of the amount of bondo.
That radio is same as 69 Camaro gotten good money for those before love your videos thought I'd give you the info
Beautiful Car Big hug from friend Marcos Polux Brasil 🤜🤛🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
The Impala Custom Coupe shared the concave rear window and very long deck lid with the Caprice Coupe. There was also an Impala Sport Coupe with a shorter rear deck and non-concave rear window. 1969 was the last year for SS 427 and also the last year for bucket seats/console in Impala.
I had a 72 impala and it had the concave rear glass as well. It was a great car too.
Because you showed the cowl tag, VN means it was built at the Van Nuys CA plant; I'm guessing. Color code 65-65 is Olympic Gold and the car has an aftermarket repaint not even close to Olympic Gold. Also the car left the factory without a vinyl top or a two tone. 65-65 means upper and lower were the same color. Thanks.
It's been shown as VN, L or LOS on various tags. They all mean Van Nuys, CA assembly. L and LOS stand for "Los Angeles" as Van Nuys is a suburb of LA. The Van Nuys plant closed in 1992 and was making the F body cars through that model year.
That's a shame, I think a family member didn't like what someone left for them in the backyard.
What a shame.. That’s bad ass ride.
Seen Hole Lot Worse Being Saved that is a shame and its a two door
Looks like a good fixer upper
Lowrider style vato loco 💪🏽👈🏽
Had a 69 Caprice & a 70 Impala would love 2 have that 1
That CRX toy is worth money !
I want to cry!!
Bud Lindemann and his crew road tested one of these back in the day.The video is up here on YT.Shocking how these drove back in the day.Search for 1969 Impala road test and take some Dramamine before watching!
@jdslyman Amazing.Looked like the car was going to corner on the rims it was plowing so hard.Good looking car though.
Trunk opened up like a coffin😂
What idiot would do that to this car just Breaks my heart!! Please can
someone save her!! 😭
Unfortunately she's parts only now
We had a 68 impala with a 327 automatic in it with a Rag top. Tried to replace rotors in the front and we find out it had some kind of corvette rotors or something. I remember it was hard to find parts. Sweet ass car though and my aunt ended up with it and sold it to a junkyard for 40$ ! Freaking dope heads! SMDH!
I have the same issue with my 70 Pontiac Executive. It has disk brakes and parts are non existent
Worth saving
Unfortunately what was left after being parted out, the yard crushed
Can’t believe the 1/4 panel molding is still on there
Wild the stuff that ends up out in the yard. But I agree there's probably a ton of filler in there. Anyone else notice the trunk lock is filled right in?
I would have grabbed that tach, now that I see what new ones cost I think you'd get $25 out of that at a swap pretty easy. Beyond that would have to sit down and see what actually sells off one of these.
Dang its a disc brake car too!!!!
All I can is why..why...why? This car should be here. One of the easiest cars to get parts for body pretty good ( even with bondo)
This should be on the road. 305,, 350..
I dont know ow how you do seeing these cars that could have probably been picked up for the price of scrap. Sell people don't scrap🤪 With that said I love the videos thanks man!👍
I can also use both arm rest with the chrome backing
Need driver side trim piece that goes from rear side window to back window. I have a 72 impala. Are u willing to part out ???
The first new car my dad and mom ordered was a 69 ss Impala 350 four speed car.he got after he got out of the army.shame this car looked in pretty decent shape.
I would love to have the front grill and bumper hanging on my garage wall
Hi. We see this is being scrapped and would like to enquire if you could let us know the yard name and contact details. Cheers Dave.
Man I could use those inner fender wells
I'd be hauling that home if it was reasonably close to me
Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't tell if this car had a vynal (if spelled right) but the roof looks great.
It had a vinyl top. Chrome strip along bottom gives it away.
Wow I like
Wow..what a shame. I learned to drive in a 68 impala.
You can find out which ones a valuable from videos on you tube. Good luck.
Cool 😀
Hey bro! Did you ended up buying this beauty? Please tell me you did? I just hope someone save this project car for resurrection.
Would you part out the rear bumper?
That car is long gone. The Junkyard crushed it
Too bad it didn't have the rare hideaway headlights on it.....Supposedly only offered on "68-"69 Caprices....But there are a few Impalas with this option from the factory that were built...Super rare on an Impala......Either way,if it was on it you would have a tidy sum of money there.
Are you selling the parts?
Like Far Out, far down, far up, far around. That's so far out its back in again.
It should be a rule cars from 1979 or older can’t be within 100 yards of the crusher that impala isn’t popular but for someone who just wants a classic ride would be a good start
Do they call you whebever a car like this arrives ?
I HOPE SOMEONE THAT'S A BALLER CAN HAVE FEELINGS FOR THIS CAR AND SAVE IT... IT'S NOT THAT BAD
That being in a junk yard just ain't right!
That car is worth fixing
The junkyard doesn't know that he can get a ton o cash for this car if advertising it market place 3k easily would anybody would pay it's worth saving it 2 Dr those A/C on those cars are super cold have had 3 of those cars man they ride smooth .
wheres this thing located i could use parts for my 1970 impala
Crains in Ft Worth TX
What you need?
Can any body please guide me as to where I could sell a 75 chevy Montecarlo?..thank you!
I'd start with Facebook marketplace. Lots of potential buyers there
Some pennies are worth $20,000. Some worth $160,000. Some $1.7 million. Dimes, $400,000 $500,000 so don't just spend them. Look at hem first
We had a 67 impala or bel- air as well hard top when we lived in Long Beach in the 70-80’s. We would watch the cholos work their magic with hydraulics in the allies to cars like this. They invented that shit in the alley garages in Long Beach. I miss them days of vibing with them. Redhead white boy here and got reactions from the Mexicans when hanging out with them. They tripped on us hanging with them.
Ive installed a couple of hydraulic systems. My brother had them in his 62 impala
2 door needs to be saved
One of my dream cars a true American muscle car. Such a shame

1969 Last year for the 327 1970 had 350,400,402,454 and the 307 but the 307 came in chevelle nova camaro no full-sized caprice or impala the 283 of the late 50 and early 60s was a good engine but the 327 made the chevy smallblock famous chevy sold a lot of 327 powered cars from 1962-1969 replaced in 1970 with the 350
