    32:54 feels like he meant MVP as Most Valuable Player (shown in games usually) to show this was the most important screen but in Product Design MVP is Minimum Viable Product which is not what he wanted to mean. Unfortunately your use of lingo can mean something else to a recruiter so gotta be careful of that. Kudos on the Case Study though and an interesting video🙌

    I feel that login should be essential only after an user go through the entire app . The reason being users are unsure of the territory's that they exploring . Users will be hesitant to share their credentials even before exploring the app . It also makes user to forcefully enter their details for nothing . I feel that user drop off rate will be more even before they are in landing page.

    I think without exploring anything about the app, showing the login page at first will be frustrating for the user & the user might leave the app instead let the user explore the app first & then ask to log in while booking or purchasing where the app needs data to do the next action.

    This was awesome review and detailed. You have patiently read it all but i don't think actual recruiter will read all those para :) I would like to see how to review a portfolio of a senior ux designer :)
    I liked the fact that you mentioned, UX of UX portfolio should be thought of. Nowadays, i think ux recruiters expect storytelling and instead of flowcharts they want to see storyboarding stuff.
    Main point is "how" users get onboarded to this app, and "why" they get onboarded is fine and covered in this case study.
    One more point is many a times recruiters want to see case studies similar to their product/company or related it and its tough for people to keep creating hypothetical case studies every time they apply somewhere new. Then it becomes difficult for people to land an interview too (forget about getting selected). This problem is widely faced be it junior designer or seniors. You should definitely do a video on this :) We always appreciate your work! Keep educating! ✌

    Laying out listing in a vertical scroll facilitates faster scanning. While horizontal scanning works best when we want users to slow down and compare things .

    As an user who is just trying to explore the app, I wouldn't like to give my information at the very first place. I might close the app and look out for other app which will not put a condition to sign up in order to proceed. Good aesthetics and promising apps are always acknowledged by users & they will surely sign up for that app❤

    Assuming one does everything right, a user survey, a user flow, few screens and a basic prototype is all that you need to send your application for a PD-1 role? What deliverables are expected from someone who's applying for a full-time role?

    I am 10 mins in the video and I can tell Sapta wouldn't have sat to read every word written in the case study and would have looked for something else. I believe he has done for the sakes of us aspirers so that we can have a better understanding and write quality case studies with quality solution. Thanks Sapta for this long form video and specially for the time you reviewed it.
    Q- When you say PD- 1(entry level), should we assume its a full time role without any hands on design experience? Is there a market for such?
    Also, would love to see future video on the interview part if the case studies go through selections. What could one do to prepare themselves and how to navigate the interview or interviews in an effective way.

    Could you explain what would be the best way to present a user flow in a case study, that would be easily digestible for the reader? Also, how would you present a summary of surgery or research results

  • @tusharbhatotia761
    @tusharbhatotia761 Před 11 měsíci

    Hello Sapta, I wanted to appreciate your hardwork for this video which helped a lot. But, I have a question regarding the 'User flow', as you mentioned that we should try to make it easy for the readers and adding user flow diagram is not the best way, then what and how should we add the user flow in our case study?
    Also, I would love to mention my opinion on the user flow that you mentioned, according to me, I think it's a big flaw to not let the user enter the app without logging in, a possible case of 'Dark patterns'.

  • @ganesh_ucee
    @ganesh_ucee Před 11 měsíci

    I would actually let the user to navigate the app without the login because maybe he can have play area or experience the app firsthand and then we nudge him to login if he goes for the hosting or maybe be based on the time count after some 30seconds we can nudge him to login/signup. But it's again it's always based on the business constraint (if they reduce the no. of drop of logins ig), he might have thought this.

  • @prathamrasal8994
    @prathamrasal8994 Před 11 měsíci

    I think for this app concept the login shouldn't be the first thing for the user to do. Let the user browse the app so that he gets an idea of it and whenever someone gets on an attend/host event CTA at that time ask for a login.
    What do you think Sir?

    22 22:12 hey, I understand your point that interviewer might ask the question why he had made horizontal scrolling but from my understanding there could be many answers for this question e.g he might have thought that this is the best way to show options, or he might have thought that users usually scroll horizontally more than vertically. What could be a good answer for this question I would love to know your thought I will wait for an answer

    The decision of requiring a login before accessing the app is heavily driven by business considerations. It hinges on business objectives, much like the distinct approaches taken by Netflix and Amazon Prime.
    In my view, for an app unfamiliar to users, offering initial access to explore before requiring a login is a more user-friendly approach.
