Your present tense should be
-고 있어요 ?
Am i right?
나는 공부를 하고 있어요. I am studying.
나는 공부를 했어요. I was study.
나는 공부를 할 거 예요. I will study.
Present tense means Now is working!
But If you want to say the things you always do.
나는 매일 요리를 해요. I cook every day.
→It means that regular things like habits or roles.
나는 요리를 하고 있어요. I am cooking.
→It means that I cooking NOW.
