    --------------------------------------------------------------
Because of its wartime past, this holiday is always charged with equal parts controversy and nationalism. On the streets of Banja Luka you can see all kinds of Serbian iconography such as flags and coats of arms.
The creation of Republika Srpska was an important factor in the start of the war in Bosnia 30 years ago, and although Bosnia and Herzegovina is a peaceful place today, in the Bosniac and Croat parts of the country the celebration of this day is seen as an act of provocation and discrimination towards the other nationalities in the country.
The celebration of Republika Srpska Day was banned by the constitutional court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021, however, as we see in this report, the parade is carried out normally, and even this year, for the first time, there has been a similar parade in the East of Sarajevo, the capital of the country.
