The last JRAD show I saw in New Haven 7/31/21, they teased a lot of Floyd. My GF said they should just play Pink Floyd songs and the occasional GD tune. (JRAP) This is an awesome set of some of my favorite tunes.
Music festivals will quickly become a thing of the past. unless you’re willing to vax or test for entry it’s seems this is the reality atm to refuse service. Not sure if this is all festivals but some have adopted such things.
Stunned with lack of attendance. I saw JRAD at Sunshine Music Festival a few years ago. On point with every song. Lock N attendees should know this band well? Not like they are new to the scene? Very confusing...
You live in a consumer market. You live in a capitalist society. When a business is selling tens of thousands of tickets and then are forced to lighten the load to 20 people consider yourself lucky it’s not $12,000 for one person entering.
It’s a cover band. They are amazing at it; 5 good friends that are insanely talented playing cool tunes in a way that a bunch of people enjoy. They also all have other gigs that are not covers. You should check them out. I’ve been turned onto some great news music through the jrad connection.
I mean. They’re all in other bands that make original music. They do have at least one original tune. But what cool is they play music people enjoy. And it makes people happy. It’s just assholes like you who can’t seem to want to let other people enjoy things. Learn some empathy. Hope you feel better. Cheers!
To add to the points made already, I feel like the way JRAD approaches their covers is different than alot of others. When they get to the "jammy" part of a song they take it to places that the original creators would never take it. They add an original flare to the songs and breath new life into them. Sometimes I will forget that I'm listening to a dead cover band when I see them simply because of how far off the beaten path they will go.
Dad - They actually are all accomplished musicians who have written a ton of tunes for their respective bands. Also they are kind of reinventing the coat vs riding its tails. And they give credit to the seamstress. You should check out Killing Floor by the Mighty Wolf and it's Lemon Song coat tail. Talk about rip off.
No, it is not the Sound of Pink Floyd. I don't think think it is intended to be. It is the songs of Pink Floyd being transformed by Joe Russo's Almost Dead (Joe Russo's Almost Floyd?) into something else. You will notice the word "Almost" in their name? Try Brit Floyd or The Machine if you are looking for a Pink Floyd cover band...
Yeah, but those parts are not exactly Lesh, are they? My cat Egg can play most of Roger's bass lines. For me, the Floyd vibe comes from the other three players involved...
Great shooting. What a cool perspective of the whole scene versus just the band..
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment! Have a great one!
Totally agree. Nice videography, specially with the song and weather.. superb
I've always thought JRAD was,..well rad. But they have taken it too a whole new level!
Right-on
RAD!
Thank you so much for recording this!!
You're welcome!
Thank You Monica! This is sooooo good! After Westville, I thought this was gonna happen!
I was here for this. Loved this weekend even with the rain!

We did! XOX
Had no idea they did Floyd so well! Great stuff!
you do know who these guys are right? They crush whatever they touch!
@@thegratefuldog lol, of course! I never heard them do Floyd though :)
They do some great Zeppelin too. I was lucky my first JRAD set they busted out No Quarter during an extended Truckin jam. Think that was Hula 2014.
@@matthyde53 Duly noted!
Echoes is so damn good. thanks for sharing this
So good!
Great video! Band is on point. The rain is trippy! Plus the stage-hand freaking out about something at 21:00
Really tells a story.
The water marks will give it character. "This was from back in '21 when they killed with Floyd" ❤
I wonder if equipment on stage was getting wet.
Thank you! That's the owner of the piano... it's all good now, but in the moment... ya know... water and piano's no bueno.
Thank you Monica!!!
You're welcome!
Almost Dead is my favorite Dead cover band, next to DSO. They are super tight.
yes they are great but every song doesn't have to build to a crescendo. it gets a bit repetitive.
Agreed 100%
@@michaelbuckland3950 I disagree. It showcases how awesome every song can be. They play the slower, quieter ones as intended though.
Thank u made my evening
Thank you thank you!
weird to see that field up on the left empty
Awesome, thanks @monihampton!!
The weather and clouds play into Echoes somewhat...
Yet again....thank you for doing this
Btw keep an eye on the big fella with the tie dye on....he's a weird one 💚💚💚
Missing the real lockn festival.😣
I need to check these guys out live!
Do it Hamp! XOX

Awesome
Wow. Lock’n will be back. See you there jrad
Wow. Thanks. There isn’t any info anywhere about what’s been going on
Damn, can we get some of that wet stuff in the Pacific NW? And some JRAD too!
seems like a really small crowd for JRAD. I guess it was the rain.
It's morning, everybody still sleeping⚡️✌️but not for long!!!
Woah this would be freakin' sweet, especially with so few people! What was the attendance at this event???
I'm hearing 400/500
1 hard working band these folks, it shows TY kindly....and the frantic piano drying seems to fit in almost perfectly choreographed lol
there can't be more than 200 people there, what the hell?
Echoes
Woah! That place is empty
Great Sound ! where's the crowd ?
This is recorded early in the morning so everyone is still asleep!!! I imagine a few woke up once hearing this performance. Cheers!!!
Wicked…
There's literally no one there.
Lock'out
Where the fuck is the crowd? Looks like 11 people there to see one of the best live acts ever.
where are the people??
Sounding real good. Hey, they got the lyrics right. Even Rick Wright messed up the lyrics now and again. Greetings from New Jersey!!
Play Virginia Beach!
Does it 🌧 at every show they play?
yes.
100%
Is the band getting totally soaked? Waaaaah! STill rocking!
Water makes them rock harder! Like Gremlins! XO
that looks like a bust of a little festival and i love jrad

"go woke go broke" isn't just a meme lol
Is that a RATM tease I caught at around 14:00 into Echoes?
Very Morello-ish
i love other shit
Just had to dance between the rain drops, like the girl in the center with the hat is doing
Ps: i'll take 2 of whatever she's having, lol

there were thunderstorms all weekend. This was a make up set for Fri. and played early before scheduled events for Sat.
Was this show Christmas morning? Paid attendance of 18
Yes.
@@monihampton …I would have opted for the lump of coal…Merry Christmas
JRAF
Where the fuck is all the crowd? What’s going on here?
i bet they lost money
Entire weekend of a cover band. Crowd size looks right
120$🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

@@turntupturnip352 No one sounds lucky in that scenario.
14:00 sexy psychedelic dance
Does jrad have any of their own tunes or do they strictly ride coat tails?🤔

Shhhhhh. Don’t tell this guy about zeppelin
Is very very Boring 😴 This is not the Sound of Pink Floyd. The Band must be Shame. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Nice try ... swing and a miss.
Thanks for bringing some of that notorious German positivity to this comment section!

I think they actually got the Waters bass parts right, which gave it a very floyd-esque vibe.
