    I am a caterer and private chef: I am wanting to sell my baked goods online (I have a commercial kitchen) to increase revenue, especially during the pandemic. Thank you for this.

    My question is how do you send the food in the mail

    It is my understanding regardless of what your state cottage laws say you cannot sell across state lines due to federal laws. So if your state says you can sell online that only means to your state, not to be confused with interstate commerce you are only allowed to do Intrastate commerce. So selling on ebay, etsy or amazon you cannot control where your customers are purchasing from so those sales would be illegal and subject to prosecution.

      Exactly it's kind of a unique situation that some States allow you to have a Internet presence in sell online but you have to personally bring the product to the customer a lot of cuts a lot of people will not actually start a business for they have to drive halfway across the state to deliver obviously that doesn't make a lot of sense but yes you can create a website a lot of times I recommend to clients I've done consulting with is to create a website that's informative 1 not 1 that allows you to have ecommerce features were you sell a product but you can inform customers in as your business grows from there then you can transition to e-commerce

    Do we need nutrional label?

    • @vortexdefense2258
      @vortexdefense2258 Před 4 lety

      Depending on your state yes you need to label your food. Not necessarily the nutritional aka like calories however the ingredients must be listed in almost every single state.

    • @MarketingFoodOnline
      @MarketingFoodOnline  Před 3 lety +2

      I would highly recommend you use a nutritional label a lot of cottage food laws do not require nutritional panel but you can check out recipe.com that website allows you to actually type in your recipe in you can get a nutritional label from that
