Don’t max out your glider because this can happen and it might be worse for you.
Don’t fly with tension knots in the trailing edge lines with trims out on speedbar at low altitude without a reserve is my take on this.

Im from Ireland and I’m new to paramotoring about 1.5 years maybe 20 + flights … Is this because he was going to fast for the wing and had a frontal collapse ??
No, it’s because he had a tension knot in his rear lines causing a deformation to the trailing edge of his wing. In the trims out and speedbar configuration on his reflex wing, it is very dangerous. This is why you should only use tip steering in this setup on this wing.

It wasn’t that. One of the control interments at the start was tangled up (trim I think) and when he pulled it the parachute collapsed

@@august6479 First of all, it’s a glider not a kite. Secondly, he is full-trim out and on speed bar. That puts his glider in reflex mode and it’s explicitly stated in the manual NOT to touch the toggles (controles) in this mode as it will cause a collapse. He’s doing exactly what he should be doing. He had a tension knot, it was not his fault.

Trimmed all the way out with full speed bar at low altitude. Not for the faint of heart. This was horrific. :( At least he is recovering and will be back in the air soon.

@@megatronopera in a nut shell, he pushed the glider to it’s limits as far as Speed goes. This is the most dangerous configuration and was done at low altitudes which adds more danger. The glider had a slight defect or tension knot that contributed to the collapse.

If you want to see the guy hit the ground again and scream the most soul churning screams of pain just go watch his video again. This page probably wasn’t trying to jar their subscribers with that, if they even got permission to post it to begin with.
that is not what i said at all,
you can easily Edit out the Sound on the Video, maybe even add a voiceover saying:
"despite the severe injuries, he survived"
and end the Video in a nice way, maybe letting people hear him saying:
"SIRI call 911"
instead the Video is chopped, volunteerly in abad spot, to cause an unfinished sensation to he person watching it, kinda like TikTok.

He was trying to fly 45 miles in a paraglider but at the end the string or one of the lines started moving and that messed with the rest of the lines to cause him to fall when he fell the paraglider broke his right arm broke his neck and back broke and he was breathing very heavily and yelling cause he broke a lot of stuff and then he was yelling at Siri to call 911 after Siri did call 911 it took 911 awhile to pick up the call so then 911 finally answered he said he was in the middle of the desert he and crashed a motored paraglider so then he was rushed to the hospital he is still alive

Trim out on speed bar. In this mode, toggles should remain stowed. Tension knot caused the collapse, not a lack of staying alert.

While I don’t disagree with your statement. The reason for the crash wasnt due to a lack of attention. One of the ropes wasn’t tied properly and was bound to snap. He was testing out a paramotor which goes very fast so he wanted to track the speed on his phone.
