I am getting ready to start my next afghan. I've always just made granny/solid granny, mainly because I know my sides will be automatically straight with those. But for my next afghan, I would love to make this one. I have my colors all picked out, and for 2 weeks have been looking at different patterns, and have decided on this one!! I am still nervous about the edges tho. Is it fairly simple to always end up with a straight edge on it? I will use stitch markers every so many stitches across, to help with the stitch count. Thank u

For example even though they all say to chain an even number, some skip a different amount at the beginning, or some people chain two instead of one at the beginning of the rows. I just don’t understand why it’s different for the same stitch.
