Found this on my feed, saw that youR reacting to "my" children Pentatonix, so I had to sub of course. Classic Ptx reaction- MIND BLOWN!"HaHa! You have 10 years of them churning out amazing music to catch up on! I look 4ward to being on this journey with ya! It is great entertainment for us Pentaholics to see the looks on reactors faces as they keep getting their minds blown over & over as each song shows another aspect to the talent of these people!!!. You WILL NOT be prepared for the experiences you will have as you go down this deeeep rabbit hole!! You can't be prepared! Just saddle up, strap yourself in & hold on tight! And just so you know Pentatonix = perfection!! They are not an A capella group, they are THE A capella group. Technically they do have Kevin (the beatboxer) play his cello occasionally & Scott (the tall blonde guy) play the piano, but when you are an A capella group of the highest caliber in the world you can do whatever you want! (Well, that's my opinion!) I will catch you on your next Ptx reaction! XO

Bohemian Rhapsody will blow your mind with how they can match a full rock band. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy will do it as they match a full symphony orchestra. Amazing Grace will have you in tears. But for a real blast, start the journey at the beginning -- episode 1 of the Sing Off. All 12 episodes are available. There are a few of us who were on board day one. Now almost 10 years ago. And to think Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie still aren't even 30 -- not even in their vocal prime yet. Let that sink in,.

I disagree. Most reactions I’ve seen are blown away by Kevin at that point, and miss Avi’s low note. Which, btw, before I listened to this with headphones, I easily matched that note, as a second bass myself. Once I heard it with headphones, that note blew me away again, with the clarity of his tonality. My version of that note is definitely closer to a growl note. Damn you, Avi! You’re too good!

And another one for later on that is just plain fun to show what they can do is their collaboration with their friend Todrick Hall. Todrick Hall, featuring Penatonix in "The Wizard of Ahhhs", where they tell the entire story of the Wizard of Oz a capella in a mashup of 17 songs in 6 minutes, featuring songs from a diverse group such as Judy Garland and the Chordettes to Motley Crue, from Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift to Dannity Kane and Kanye West. The only personnel change since they won the TV Singoff is that Avi left because of a sickness in his family preventing him from keeping the touring schedule. All amiable, and he helped find Matt as his replacement. If you think you see any other personnel changes... it's just Kirsten and Mitch altering their looks.
Aside from group material, there are solos and duets out there.
Kevin Olusola is perhaps the most talented member of the group. He does a good bit of studio recording work. He speaks English, Spanish and Mandarin. Has a pre-Med degree from Yale and a music degree from Berklee. He's credited with "inventing" celloboxing. You could review the vid link below, of him in 2005 at age 17, appearing on "From the Top" (a show about overachievers) at Carnegie Hall, playing sax and demonstrating beatboxing. Then look up his cover of "Down," to see him use a studio full of instruments and mics and pull off some fantastic pre-planned looping.

"Love Again" is the definitive followup. It has an EDM/club beat similar to this one, and even more exotic makeup and costuming (they were able to get a shirt for Avi) and some of the notes they hit are amazing (it might have the widest range of any PTX songs for the lead vocals, with Mitch's soaring highs and Avi's super-deep lows), and it is one of their first original songs (close to 100 million views, it is their most watched original composition).
For copyright purposes, anything labeled as "official video" after 2014 is subject to copyright strikes. Their "Evolution of ..." Videos are safe, and their older stuff is OK as well, since they were not signed to an SME label, with their army of copyright claimers.

Some answers to questions you have, or will have and random tidbits: If you find yourself asking, "Is that Mitch?" Yes, it's always Mitch. He didn't leave or get swapped out. The only change has been when Avi left 😢(I know, it makes me sad too. He's doing fantastic though and seems very very happy. Matt, Avi's replacement that he helped PTX choose, has a smooth silky bass and is amazing too!) Also, it's always Kirstin, too. Kevin+Avi=meat and potatoes. "Really? REALLY?!" Absolutely! You'll find yourself saying that a lot.
You should react to Run to You, Love Again, Imagine, Radioactive, Light in the Hallway, Havana, Gold, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Christmas song, I know, but it's fantastic) Little Drummer Boy AND All the PTX Sing OFF episodes. Ok, I'll stop...or I mean I could go on..there's Water, Rose Gold...ok ok, stopping. Thanks for an awesome reaction, glad I subbed. ❤

they have hundreds of videos out now for you to jump into LOL this year is their 10th anniversary of being together so there's 10 years of content to wade through! They are mostly pop but they also have their own sound to some really great familiar songs. Might I suggest that you start with their "Evolution of" videos. There's Evolution of Music, Evolution of Michael Jackson, Evolution of Rhianna, Evolution of Beyonce, Evolution of Ariana Grande. and when you get to their side projects, Scott and Mitch (the blonde guy and the high pitched brown haired guy) have a side project called Superfruit and they have some evolution videos they have done.

Welcome to the rabbit hole. You are a blast to watch and a joy to listen to. For recommendations:
    Amazing Grace
    Imagine
    Bohemian Rhapsody
Come Along - this one's fun!
    Sound of Silence
And of course, really any other song in their catalog is great too!

Bohemian Rhapsody HAS to be next. There is no A Cappella group in the league with PTX. HOME FREE is good, but PTX is PERFECT. They have two original EP's! That is another thing that they bring to the table. Sing and Cracked are off the first EP and two of my favorites.

Jaron -- just a note on your reaction. I was on when it went live. I've watched it at least half a dozen times today because it is so real, so authentic and so fun. You said you're trying to say something professional. Don't try. Just bring your authentic joy of discovery, which makes it so great. I subscribed 3 minutes into the Hallelujah review because I could see how you were going to go into the rabbit hole. As someone onboard from day 1, it's a blast to see others get on board. For me the best was when you ran headlong, full speed into the full effects of "Meat and Potatoes" -- Avi and Kevin during "Television Rules the Nation". They were given the nickname Meat and Potatoes by Shawn Stockman (from Boyz II Men) on the Sing Off because they are the Meat and Potatoes of Pentatonix. You have a real, true reaction. And as someone said recently, watching your reactions: "I'm In. I'm All In".

You can’t go wrong with watching and reacting to any of their music but it’s a must to watch their Sing Off Journey and their cover of John Lennon’s Imagine it hits hard when he released it back in the 70’s and it hits even harder now

You’re absolutely adorable! I love your reactions! I don’t know if this was mentioned but they filmed this video in some guys closet. The contact also bothered Kevin(the beatboxed) that’s why he has the sun glasses thing on his face. You can also see it in Avi’s eyes. You should check out their evolution videos!!
