I was so moved by what you did for that man and his family. I'm a retired carpenter and now volunteer for guide dogs for the blind and in doing so feel so enriched. My late father was a plasterer and during school holidays I worked with him so I know how physically hard your job is, you gave that family the most precious precious gift YOUR TIME. Your good deeds might seem invisible but they leave a trail imprinted on the hearts of others.

Not many of us left Kiddo! I did two free last Christmas one a full conservatory and a start to finish media wall build with an acrylic paint application. I normally do a free job once a year at Christmas anyway. I thought I was on my own doin’ that type of caper, but it seems my mate kirky boy does the same sh%t. It’s a blessing we can give a little back to those important enough who need it. Proud of ya kid!

I remember artexing a ceiling in an older house back in the late 80s , that all fell off , sure enough lime wash underneath. I also remember scraping dozens of artex ceilings flat and often without bothering to even put a mask on . Health and safety awareness virtually non-existent back then. I'm a painter but i still enjoy the vids mate , you look like you got a decent apprentice there , lovely gesture at the end , you're right it feels really nice helping somebody else out from time to time 👍

My brother in law who taught me how to plaster showed me a tip for skimming over artex, worked perfectly everytime. 1st coat was a half and half mix with skim and bonding and the 2nd coat just skim finish. Works brilliantly everytime 🙂👍 top job kirk 💪

For people watching plastering a ceiling is hard work. Just try holding your arms above your head and see you long you can do it. Never mind with weight of plaster. And they have to work in a certain time to do the second part of rubbing it smooth. Very hard work being a plasterer.Well done mate.👍

Done something similar myself
A couple of years ago I was minding my our business sat in my van and a guy knocks on mi widow distraught asking if I would decorate his bedroom as his wife was dying of cancer and ultimately be bed bound and he wanted it nice for her.
I did it for free least I could do it took a small bit of pressure of him.
Unfortunately for me I don’t have a successful CZcams channel like you Kirk 😂
