    IMPORTANT NOTE!!
    After several comments from people, it seems that the Kickstarter version (in this video) of the Bobby Backpack is quite different from the retail version. Key differences are that there are no internal: zipped side pockets or sleeve at the top.

    It's not about putting all the crap from your old bag to the new bag. It's about protecting what's in it. I too have to carry less after switching but turns out over time you'll realize it wasn't needed anyway. I like the fact it reminded me just because you could doesn't mean you should. Like most people they keep packing the bag because it fits and end up with a huge bag on their back which looks ridiculous.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  Před 7 lety +4

      I can see where you're coming from Frank and I agree in someways with what you're saying. However for me, one of the main gripes I had with this backpack was that it was hard to access the stuff in transit which I often need to do. Now that's totally the idea that XD Design are going for as it is anti-theft and supposed to be hard to access, but where I live, theft isn't that common so there isn't much of a need for me to use this as a daily backpack. But if I were to go to another country or place where theft is common, I would for sure use this bag.

    You need to evaluate what you need to bring around, who need 3 pairs of headphones and if you have an iPad/laptop/phone with you, why use a journal? I am sure i could have easily fitted all the stuff you have in there much better. It is a nice bag pack and i would surely consider getting one for myself as my normal backpack is really getting old. practice your "Tetris" game and try redo the packing :)

I carry with me at all times a 2016 15'' MacBook Pro, iPad Pro 2016, iPhone 7, notepad, water bottle , umbrella, stationary and many other tech gadgets and it all fits perfectly. If course in your situation things didn't work out but I'm my experience it was worth the money and you were using it wrong. If you have any questions etc please reply and I will answer

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  Před 7 lety +8

      Haha, yea man I agree. If you're not carrying much stuff and you don't really need to access stuff from the bag in between transit, then I think it's great. But it just doesn't suit me personally and my needs. Of course this bag suits people out there, but just not me. But having said that, if I were to go to a country or place where theft is common, I would for sure bring this bag.

    Bought one. Looks great, gives good protection. At the same time, you can't put a lot of stuff in it. So either you need to organize very precisely so you can still close the bag, or just don't take a lot with you. I used to have a laptop plus my fitness clothing and shoes in my old bag, which was actually a lot smaller, but can't do it in this bag. It takes way too much time and effort to stuff it in without spending much time and frustration organizing and closing the bag.

      +UhOh_bent is theft an issue at your school and where you live? If not then don't get this bag. It's an anti-theft backpack and it does a fantastic job at that, but for me its a terrible bag for taking out items. Sure you can fit a lot of stuff in different pockets and tetris the entire thing up, but what happens when you want to access the thing at the bottom? Unless you open the entire thing up, it's very difficult and inconvenient to access things. And opening the whole thing up say on public transport isn't going to be convenient either. But it is anti theft and supposed to be difficult to access the items but I think it's unfortunate. I still prefer backpacks with individual compartments like the one featured in my what's in my bag video. I think at best, the Bobby can fit one full binder with a laptop. But if theft is an issue, definitely go with this.

    Hey, great reviews here. I'm thinking about buying this bag but I have to carry a few books everyday at uni and I was wondering if this could fit along with a laptop and like one or two notebooks. I think it could but can you like remove or fold the compartments on the bottom ?

    (sorry if I'm not really clear, english is not my native language)

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  Před 7 lety +1

      +Smaxe I think the Eastpak backpack has much more space. But I reckon from what you mentioned, it should be okay. You can't remove the compartments but they fold down flat easy enough. The really good thing about the Bobby Backpack is that when you load it up and wear it, you hardly feel anything and that's due to the good balancing of the centre of gravity. So if you're carrying heavy books, it'll be good for your back in the long run. But if you need a lot of space, perhaps you'll need to look elsewhere.

    • @Smaxe
      @Smaxe Před 7 lety

      I think I'm gonna get it so, I can adapt the number of books I bring with me so I think it'll be okay and I really like the concept, a few concessions are sometimes needed. And I'll check before if I can send it back just in case.

    hi, I was considering helping this project and buying one, but do you think this will work well for a college student?
    I usually fit a portable battery, laptop (with wires), 2-3 binders, 1 notebook, water bottle, a small lunch box, pencil case (that i can put into the pencil pouch), small planner, wallet, keys, calculator, bluetooth headset.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  Před 7 lety

      +Chris Park I would be inclined to say no but there would be people out there who would say it's possible. I tend to side on the fact that this backpack is a little too small. You can see all the stuff I tried to fit in there and I wasn't that successful. So I don't think you will have much luck either especially with trying to fit everything with your 2-3 binders. I mean it can probably fit but how practical will it be to access things and take things out.

    I think this will be perfect for day outing during oversea holidays. I will need to bring power bank(s), camera,, probably pen and notepad and ample space to put small souvenirs purchased along the way. The back pocket will be perfect to keep passports, travel docs etc. I have my Ogio Renegade to do what this bag cant do, and Ogio is too big for day outings, so its perfect.

      +Isaac Ooi to be honest I haven't used the backpack since I did this video. As I mentioned in the video it's because it doesn't really suit my usage/needs. I would assume the back pocket is quite useful for storing documents such as a passport etc.. At the end of the day, it's a travel backpack.

It's not always used but I get around with it; easy for me to just throw what I need in and go. Mind you, I do not always carry everything I have with me, just the essentials and that's probably about 4-5 things including cables and plug-ins. I also did not see the date this video came out so I would think you may have gone through some extensive changes for your backpack choice.

  • @that1cooluncle

    You are suppose to fold the straps up so the extra length unused doesn't dangle at all. In fact you won't even see the extra straps. External battery can be placed on the inside-side pocket right near the usb charging port. Backpack meant for people that don't use notebooks. This day and age, everything is on the Cloud. 1 mac, 1 tablet. 1 water bottle, 1 external battery & wire. Pens, maybe. Definitely use exterior side pockets on each side for quick access to smaller items. It even stands on it's own when used properly. Overall for a minimalist, 4.8 out of 5.

  • @arcticblue248
    @arcticblue248 Před 7 lety

    I bought a red one, I like the bag, its pretty and got some nice features but same as you I find it abit small for my normal use.
    I usually have a 12" tablet that I have to put in the PC slot, I have a small notebook where I put in the tablet pocket, and a sketchbook that I also put in the pc-slot... then some cables, battery, some sockets and sketching tools...
    What I do miss with the backpack is a side pocket where you can put your flask, it could be something that could be folded out ... (have seen in other backpacks something similar) also maybe abit more storage space for papers (or books) and the backpack would be so much nicer.
    However, I do use my backpack every day, even for a short 2 day trip (with one sleepover) and managed to fit a change of cloths even hehe.

    I used to have this bagpack It is small.. this what i need to carry! a laptop, ipadpro, kindle, cables for the 3.. a batterypack, a wirless phones..(music one) keys, a water bottle, some chips and a sandwich.. and this is where i have problems to fit the water bottle,sanwchic, I forgot the umbrellla... so maybe the XL is better, but I think there better options.. also to grab the bottle of water u have to search for it iside.. when there are other bags that are easir to grab the water of bottle, i will have to take out everything to just grab the water of bottle.. it drives me crazy!!! so I find his review very logic, becasue i have see his other videos and the easy access to things in this bag is not that good,
