- In addition to Elesh Norn and Mondrak, Phyrexia: All Will Be One features a disgusting new white version of Phyrexian Obliterator that ignores damage and redirects it to other targets of your choosing.

The white power creep was my nickname in highschool
Ayo 💀
LMFAO this made me squeal
jooo XD
i hate that you made this joke while named joyboy
...hol up
Questing Beast laughs in its face.
in that case I would attack with Phyrexian Vindicator instead.
@@Nomo-sapiens *laughs in Fog*
@@GamerGeek527 I was pointing out that Questing Beast is not a straight counter. Im not going to play magic in the comment section.
@@Nomo-sapiens that's fair but like yeah i just find it funny that Questing Beast and i think one red card also from Eldraine are nice counters to it but not straight up counters.
Questing Beast is objectively cancerous power creep.
When I first started playing, I thought Obliterator was "When this creature is dealt damage, you sacrifice that many permanents." Like, it was a downside for having an undercosted 5/5 in black. Years later I drafted it in a cube and read it more closely. THEY sacrifice the permanents???
You read correctly bc there are two of them. the original you have to sacrifice, the second one they have to sac
That card exists! It is phyrexian negator from urzas saga block
Aha! I'm a dummy. Thanks y'all.
@@loxeggcheeseit’s def negator that makes it’s controller sac
It feels like a lot of my opponents make the same mistake. They gleefully block/nuke it... then there's a long pause.
I can't be the only one that got a little confused when I first saw "white power creep"
Dangerous title for a video these days hahaha
I dunno if I'd call it better. Obliterator can absolutely annihilate some board states and can easily put a player beyond any hope of recovery. Vindicator is not as high-impact unless you're infinite-comboing with it.
It's worse, IMO. It can combo, yes, but opponent sacs a perm is better than a ping, and it remains the same until the number is equal to a life total. Trample also works better than flying with this kind of ability.
Vin is more stable, while obli is more powerful. I like em both.
Careful with that title void lol
Me: Cast Wheel of Misfortuene. Hold priority, cast gideons sacrifice.
Opponent: target?
Me: Phyrexian vindicator
Opponent: IM IN DANGER!
Honestly can't wait to see the rest of the cycle. Love the designs
Pair it with double damage effects. Let's say you lightning bolt it. 3 doubles to 6. Phyrexian Vindicator prevents then redistributes 6, which is doubled to 12.
With double damage effects, since it says any target, it can just deal it to itself, right?
@@elijahbuck6499 if it said any target, in theory you could. Vindicator specifically says any *other* target.
@@Slightly.Lost. I misread it, dang, but that’s neat
So play two shock and and infinite damage?
@@moop6667 exactly. If you have two you could bounce the damage back forth with a Doubling effect in play until its large enough to fling and kill an opponent.
Hopefully it doesn't take 36 year's to complete this cycle.
hopefully it isnt a cycle, not every cool card needs a parallel in every color
@Tagmata18 while I agree we don't always need a cycle, this particular 4 solid pip phyrexian cycle is kind of neat, I'd like to see the RUG takes on it
@@tyrthesemiwise304 I think itd honestly be better if this was just a black thing, the og Obliterator was a spoof on phyrexian negator which was essentially the same creature but worse. this white one however feels like its kind of breaking the color wheel, i dont think any 4 drop white card should be this big and be able to deal so much damage with literally no downside besides the cost. plus green already has questing beast they dont need more amazing 4 drops
idk it just kinda feels super pandered towards commander with very little thought on how this will effect standard/pioneer
@@tagmata1872 honestly I’m inclined to agree that this is a color break, but I’m okay with it in the context of phyrexia, which is a realm that inherently breaks and bends many color norms.
@Tagmata18 you know what, I'll give you that. As someone who really only plays EDH I don't often consider the impact on other metas. I'll also agree that it does break the pie a little. If it was only damage from sources opponents controlled, that would be a little more white.
And phyrexian negator is crying the corner.
Pariah's shield to direct all damage aimed at you to it.
Video: It’s Better than Oblitarator.
Me and my Tergrid Deck: Grr
Tergrid doesnt count
I'd like to see one of these for each color
This is definitely stronger. Flying is better than trample for multiple reasons.
That may be so, but Obliterator doesn't need strong evasion because no one in their right mind will ever block it.
Infect strats go nutty with the card if you use it right. Not to mention land destruction decks.
That’s if it can stay on the field long enough to make any difference lol
my Truefire Captain is crying
The art for it is beautiful
Both die die pretty easily to the most used removal spells . Both hate on red hardcore with green getting some splash damage as well though So that is interesting. Although neither color has had much trouble with red really lately.
Pariah equipment and some way to make it indestructible & hexproof...stand back due to no one being able to attack/burn you.
I have this card and I so focused on damaging it I didn't realize till now, months later, it flys. Months later I just said out loud holy shit it flys too!?!
this could make for an interesting abzan deck in standard. Hard to run obliterator and vidicator in the same deck, but if the mana is there you could just perma clear their board.
Pariah and Gideon's Sacrifice
Give it Entangler and your opponent can't ever attack you
Love the flavor texts
Great for firesong and sunspeaker decks
It's actually not a very good card. Let's say if it were to take 5 damage. It gets to deal the 5 damage out. Compared to the black counterpart, it would sacrifice 5 of your opponents' permanent, which is usually way more important in early games.
Plus if you take into account damage cannot be prevented cards. This card is no longer that good, on top it only applies to itself, so you can only use it as a blocker.
There are some insane infinite combo's tho
@@rileyjennings6701 yes and those can already be accomplished with brash taunter which isn't breaking the format in half. this is good but it is not the nuts
I think Obliterator is already pretty easy to play around and this one is even moreso.
This is sick , as a Teshar player I wish it was 3 pips instead of 4 x
Phyrexia set appears to be spreading lots of monocolor Creature love, like Dominaria did for multicolor decks.
Whoa! Deflecting Palm as a creature. 😮
Was literally thinking of blasphemous act as you flashed it on screen lmao
Oh boy I get to do 13 damage to one player.
It dies to removal.
Call of the Kor!!!
This card is the white power I needed to come back to the color.
Mono white looks like it's eating well this set imo but I'm a casual so what do I know XD
This is a funny comment "back-in-the-day" because obliterator didn't see play in standard back in the day.
This is -nowhere- near Obliterator. Night and day.
There are so many removal spells that say "destroy" or "exile" that can kill this thing in Standard alone, it's such a horrible card. It's so funny that white is getting a retro power creep. Absolutely insane...
Ah yes, falling back to the good ol' classic "dies to removal" argument.
Guilty conscience (a 15 cent, 1 mana aura) + this card dealing damage = win on turn 5 without ramp
@@stevenboland9271 you can do the same thing with brash taunter. for 1 more mana without being restricted to mono white.
It won't see much main board play outside of janky combo decks but it's gonna be a sideboard staple against RDW and Soldiers
@@maxxiderrick91 when a cards main selling point is “it does damage when it takes damage” and does nothing else when you cast it that’s pretty rough. Also this dies to fatal push lol.
Welcome Stuffy Doll 2.0
Lose all your lands vs lose all your creatures
Lose all your permanents vs maybe do some okay damage once in awhile to one player or creature.
This card goes infinite with guilty conscience just realized
And blazing Sunsteel
Both. Both would be good
Instantly going into my firesong deck. That deck is full of burn wipes like star of extinction. “Deal 20 damage to each creature” that’s 20 damage dealt to a player now. That’s my 3rd brash taunter/boros reckoner… if I deal 20 to each creature and player with something like earthquake that would kill 3 players
Gideon's Sacrifice on them and obliterate your opponent
Give it deathtouch and a ping source and you can just remove creatures easily
Its a bit weaker, but with bigger combo potential.
The best thing is it will probably be cheap. It won't see huge play with it's restrictive mana cost.
It probably won't. If it's wanted by most commander players and mythic, the price is not cheap.
Don't get your hopes up.
Don't expect a cheap reprint.
Don't forget Capridor, Capridor is love, Capridor is truth.
Yeah, it's not like every deck splashing Black can also cast Invoke Despair right?
@@LowinBayrod it’s already $8 from 30 and the second it leaves standard it will 100% be a bulk sub $1 rare lol.
Give it Lure and just swing the to the player with most power on the board
Enchant with entangler, pariah, or guilty conscience which is infinite
Thinking Star of extinction thoughts
I just had a horrifying thought: what if the last thing to be spoiled are the the other phyrexian 4 cost beaters. I know it's crazy, but they made the Dominus cards in this set so I wouldn't be surprised.
I think they already figured out that the Mythics are all spoiled. This seems more like a two color mirror pair like White Knight/Black Knight anyway
Two of these out and a damage doubler/tripler kill any player
Nice title
firesong and sunspeaker…
Stuffy doll tribal with an up side to target your stuff...
Its going in my Light-Paws deck, and I'm going to stick Entangler on it.
Well, I got 2 of them, so we're in business
White is way too good nowadays.
It's like a vigor but instead of counters it's damage
But vigor is your whole board, whereas this only protect itself
@@cabbagedestroyer1693 doesn’t even really do that. No one’s using damage based removal on a 5/5 lol.
Blasohemous act lmao
In a vacuum I would say it's worse but that's my opinion.
I don’t think in any situation it’s that good. Also hasn’t done literally anything in standard. If it has vigilance it’d probably be usable.
For anyone saying this would be good in commander ...
It is a creature that is only playable in a monowhite deck, or maybe two colours.
It has no innate protection, nor any immediate effect on the battlefield. No one is going to block this. Or if they do it will be with a 1/1 thopter token.
No one plays damage based removal on a 5/5
And before you say "Blasphemous act" ... yeah, that's cute when it comes together, but both white and red have nearly no Sorcery tutors, so you're relying on random luck.
And even then, 13 damage is a nice chunk but only a third of a players starter life total.
And it's to one target.
You're not going to target him with a burn spell, because then you could have just targeted the creature.
The flying is actually a downside, because now most earthquakes wont hit it.
Put lure on it
This one reminds me of spawn
what i love about this card is finally White gets a card that's supposed to be "WHITE" so no other color combination is gonna want to use it. But why is it doing a Red color pie thing is my problem.
Preventing damage is white but yeah sending that damage to another target is more red.
Blasphemous act gideons sacrifice you're welcome
Bruh.... Blasphemous act alone with this is just insane... Board wipe plus 13 damage to the face or walker?!
I still fuck with Phyrexian Negator
Also, Vindicator looks like he's on stage or on the football field
Calling this power creep is like saying my car got faster once I painted it
I kinda think the black one might be slightly better
yeah like let's take the situation where someone who isn't the obiliterator's controller blasphemous Acts that person must now sacrifice their whole board. the new white one sticks around and zaps em for 13
Sacrificing permanents is way stronger too imo.
Myriad plus blasphemous act lmao
I'd by no means call it power creep, but it is in the same vain and is in certain situations better and can go infinite
The effort required to go infinite with this is more than just using obliterator to set a player back to the Stone Age.
By the way, it’s going to cost an arm and a leg as well
It’s $8 which is only because it’s in standard. Second it leaves it’ll be a bulk rate for sure.
I’m sure you’re right unless it becomes very popular in commander then it will either go higher or stay where it’s at currently
its just a brass taunter why are people hyping this thing so much i dont get it...
Enchant it with Guilty Conscience, deal some damage and it's gg
I think card looks better than it actually will end up being. You almost definitely want to be running this in a boros deck but needing 4 white mana makes casting this pretty difficult in two or three colors. The same potential strengths of this card already exist with Brash Taunter and Stuffy Doll and I think those are more playable in most cases. Good card but not great.
Not even close.
Pariah
Pariah anyone?
It's good but not $30 good
You’ll be happy to know it’s $8 or less now lol.
Power creep? You mean getting good cards?
Getting “okay” cards. This isn’t even a good card it’s just a worse brash taunter that’s even harder to cast in a color that can’t take advantage of its abilities easily.
Bro, you have to change the name of this video.
Pariah. End of conversation.
Maybe a different title... lol
Also if you have two in play and any damage increase effect you can bounce damage back and fourth until it’s enough to be lethal
I read this as "white power creep", not "white power creep"🤣
Phrasing!
