      I make my own rosemary oil, hair pomade, and hair mist using fresh herbs and quality olive, grapeseed, shea and avocado oil. It's easy. I make carrot oil and herbal hair mister. Recently, I learned to make my own conditioner and my hair loves it.. I still bought approximately $120 in Mielle products a month ago but haven't tried them yet. I've been seeing videos of ladies saying their hair fell out from using Mielle since Proctor and Gamble bought the company in January. They feel the formulas were changed..

    The thing that ppl need to learn most is applying oil to a dry scalp isn’t helping anything…
    The massages are stimulating the blood flow..
    Oils are best applied to wet/damp hair & the scalp to seal in moisture.. lubricating your fingers with the oil to do massages is good to help prevent friction/frizz, but it’s not penetrating the scalp or cuticle 😊

    • @aamialeach7414
      @aamialeach7414 Před rokem +30

      it does lock in moisture but the only reason is because oil and water repel each other..they never mix...so theoretically what you are saying makes no sense...if your hair or scalp is damp...the oil will just sit on top and never be able to penetrate! Oil is a moisturizer not a hydrator...if you are trying to lock in moisture then your method works...like LCO method...but if you are using this to stimulate growth then its never going to absorb into your scalp and stimulate if its being repelled by a wet or damp scalp...ijs

Hence water is not required. Moreover, water on scalp/hair, might "block" the mielle oil from reaching the scalp and hair, since they don't mix well. So I think the key here is that she massages the scalp for a few minutes. Not a few seconds are under a minute. Her point is in just to get the oil in there, or rub it in. The point is to really massage their hair for a long time to stimulate the scalp and the blood flow. she also says she uses it twice a day. I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve never used this oil before, but I see that it seems to be a current trend right now, but some people have said it didn’t work for them. So I was curious.

    • @Tionaintown876
      @Tionaintown876 Před měsícem

      I can attest to the nightly scalp massages. I tried it once (maybe a month consistently) and I had never seen so much hair growth before!
      Like you said it has to be a few minutes so I do mine for exactly 5 minutes, then immediately on your back with your head hanging over the edge of the bed for another 5 minutes. That allows for maximum blood flow from the scalp after stimulating your hair follicles.
      Personally when I did it I used olive oil. I looked at the ingredients of the Mielle hair oil and it didn’t look too spectacular (mainly soybean oil and coconut oil but coconut oil doesn’t absorb into the hair well it’s more of a sealant. Look up individual oils and their benefits. Sweet almond oil is full of vitamins and is absorbed easily into your hair/scalp.
      Different oils do different things so I would recommend you look some up and see which one might be best for you, then consider mixing it with another oil.
      Btw, are you Jamaican? I am but I was just wondering based off your speech

    The rosemary oil was and still is the only thing I used from Mielle, everything else from them always dried out my hair. I think most companies have changed their recipes recently regardless of whether they were black owned or not and will continue to do so. I used to swear by Aussie's 20 Hr freeze gel! It made my combination 4b/4c curls pop and kept them moisturized AND my edges laid, but unfortunately earlier this year they reformulated and removed all the moisturizing ingredients. Even the Herbal essences coconut conditioner ive used for YEARS has changed. With rising costs companies are gnna continue cutting corners to cut costs so they meet their profit goals but that's just capitalism 🤷🏾‍♀️

      Idk that’s also what I’m looking for as I don’t know how she applies it twice a day if you are supposed to wash it off a minimum of two hours after. But I did just recently watch a video that said not washing your hair and letting the sebum build is also actually bad for you since it will clog up your scalp with dead skin cells and some other bad thing is produced so now I’m just overall confused about the showering part of hair care routines😅

  • @youtubewatcher8117
    @youtubewatcher8117 Před rokem +5

    This may not work for you because If you put hair oil on your scalp you will end up having to wash your hair more often and use more shampoo to get out the oil you put in and your natural oils, sebum, which will try out your hair and if your putting in the middle same thing but the shampoo with take out the natural oils in your hair, leaving it dry and damaged. Try only putting the oil at the ends of your hair where its the driest and use a leave in conditioner for the middle of your hair. No need to add to the roots, you'll just end up washing it more.

I wash, condition, massage this into the root, spray a leave in conditioner, rub in a leave in cream, then rub in avacado/olive oil, braid and put in a tail bag. I do it once a week. Her tail is sooooo shiny!!!
