Whitetail Taxidermy: Quick Ear Tip

  • Here's a quick tip for when you are in the process of mounting a whitetail and are prepping the form the day before your going to actually taxidermy it. This is how I usually prep my ears the night before I put them together.

      Thanks for watching! This will definitely allow the clay to stiffen up and stay together and allow you to not have to worry about smudging fresh clay.

    Thats awesome!! I been have found that if I pre-sculpt the muscluature with oil clay, I get the exact look I want, but, I do the fiberglass resin cast and peel out the oil clay. alot of extra work, I will try this method thx!! I was never satisfied with just stuffing clay around the ear base and shaping the ear butts when mounting the deer. Still a greenhorn😅

      I never tried that process, but this definitely should save time compared to that method while keeping your details in tact.
