The reason that Megatron was redesigned into a Knight in The Last Knight is that they planned on having flashbacks that retcon Optimus and Megatron's origin to match the gladiatorial arenas from the Marvel comic. It would've given more context to the characters' appearances, fighting styles, and rivalry in the film. I also like that they added a big cannon on his forearm like in G1. Obviously, it's very hard for the writers and design team to tribute the long history of the franchise when the director and producers don't care.

I honestly dont hate megatrons redesign in tlk even though he also got knighted. It's my least favourite gimmick from the film franchise but megatron still somehow looks and sounds really cool. I wouldn't mind the Knight aesthetic as much if they hadn't tried to expand an already confusing continuity with the knights of cybertron and iacon knights 'storylines'. Like we find out in aoe that prime is apparently a Knight alongside the dinobots and they once explored the universe in a big ol' ship which messies up the timeline, now we have to ask if megatron is also one of those knights or if he likes the look

Optimus Prime in the originals would only kill if he had to. But in Michael Bay’s he just has him kill a decepticon on sight. It’s just not close enough to the original. Goo d fight scenes and CGI though.

Just letting everyone know, in DOTM The reason Megatron gets fricking slaughtered is because he wasn’t even trying to fight Optimus. He wanted a (temporary) truce but Optimus killed him before he could react.
Why do you think megs sucked he became weaker and more damaged through the movies and he was reborn and not used to the galvatron body and his body was rebuilt and revamped to his liking
I kinda feel bad for the decepticons and megaton they want save their home but their own brethren betrayed them for inferior people that have no real regards for them. But still evil
Not evil, megatron has the point here. Optimus's compassion and kindness blinds him. Humans don't care about them at all, which ends up biting them in the end since humans end up killing almost all autobots. Ironhide saw this by telling Optimus that humans are a violent race, also sentinel told Optimus he could never make the hard decisions. That is where megatron could come in and make those hard decisions for Optimus.
Megatron is without a doubt one of my most favorite villains of all time. I may hate him with everything I've got but he does deserve some credit for his raw power and fierce attacks, my favorite styles to see Megatron in are his look in Revenge of the Fallen and his look in The Last Knight, both are fierce, cunning, devious and deadly but those are just some qualities that make any villain pretty cool and rather fearful. All I have for Megatron is hate since he never will learn, but his styles are pretty intriguing and cool.
I gotta agree, his rotf and tlk designs are pretty cool. I also like his dotm look because he finally has an earth vehicle mode All the stuff about galvatron was just confusing and unnecessary. Like how did he turn back into megatron? It really messed with his story arc
@@Tom-oz7wk I agree too. As much as Age of Extinction is one of my favorite Transformer films, Galvatron is just very unnecessary. Galvatron isn't just snappy, it's also cheesy.
@@meredithtoich3150 age of extinction was very good but it's because we had lockdown as the antagonist. The factionless bounty hunter was a unique character and it was a nice change to the films. Galvatron was a terrible execution of a concept I hate already. He doesn't even do anything during any of the final battle stuff. He just watches his soldiers get munched by dinobots and then throws a temper tantrum. The whole transformium gimmick was silly too. Lockdown saved the film, especially because he's so unassuming, he's not a prime or gladiator or anything but he can still hold his own against prime and it made for a fun film. I'm so sorry, I've rambled a lot here
"We were brothers once" Line always gives me goosebumps because b4 the war they where brothers and omg that line will always be in my mind and it's just awesome that Michael bay put that line in there
He didn't, one of the movie's four writers did, but it is easily the best line in the series. And what makes it even better is Optimus's response and the fact that it's the two original voice actors of the characters who've voiced them since 1984.
It makes sense in a way, the last bits of their culture were dying off together with Cybertron, and all the main transformers have spend very long time on Earth, which I believe led to them adjusting their looks to humans, since they reflexively wanted to fit in with Earth's habitats, because even if Megatron doesn't want to admit it, Earth has become his home of sorts, he was trapped there since first movie and it definetly had impact on him. I also feel like he was becoming less power-hungry and evil through the series, with each movie being less ruthless both towards autobots and towards humans. In my theory, he was slowly realising how many things he lost thanks to his war for Cybertron and as he was getting tired from warfare on Earth, he was rooting for peace more and more. He started to miss Cybertron in it's glory and he didn't even care about humans anymore. I mean, he ordered to kill his sleeping agents in DOTM, and he wanted to enslave humanity, but at the other hand he didn't have a need to mock humanity or kill them any time he sees one, just look at Sam's gf, she could speak with Megatron openly without him doing any harm to her, he had no reasons to harm her anymore. And at the end, he was ready to stop the war with Optimus and go repair Cybertron together. So.. yeh, he would make a peace with humanity at the end, if he didn't get killed, which reignited his hatred and lust for vengeance and dominance.
@@Altherot this would actually be awesome of It weren't for two details: 1) most of the more characterized bots in the film are just stereotypes so I would not really called them real characters, also some are like TOO MUCH humans in face and body, they look like humans with some kind of metallic mask on their face, while in the first movie they were unique yet still robot-looking. Some of the best designs are of characters that has less than a minute of screentime like Mirage or Barricade... 2) those films have almost zero continuity... in the fourth film creators pop out, and in the fifth they are already forgot and here It Is Quintessa while I still remember being the All Spark the source of life on Cybertron and the reason Megatron crushed on earth and not to meet with Sentinel... and boy the Matrix... forgotten after just half movie!
@@endertuber8300 the Matrix appeared in DOTM, it was in two of the movies. And Quintessa seems to be one of the creators These movies do have continuity with only a few outright contradictions, but definitely too convoluted.
The first movie Sam helped him the second he Needed jetfire’s wings and megs became really weak and in the 4th the galvatron body was controlled by ksi and when he woke up than he needed to get used to the galvatron body and finally tf5 because they knew megs was not that stronk and they had more confidence.
TF1 he lost the one on one with megatron, TF2 wasn't his original body/was dead and Optimus had more time to train while he was at the bottom of the ocean, TF3 is basically the same thing/died and was unable to adapt to his weaker new body/ TF4 he was basically beating him as galvatron and TF5 if you look at 10:53 you can look at the size difference and it's apparent that he is much bigger and would still dog walk Optimus. Just like how Optimus got jumped in TF2, he got jumped in TF5 and lost that fight. Megatron literally won the fight on cybertron. Megs wins any day.
Just to prove that the new megatron is uber strong. He was only beat because he got sucked out of a hole. He overpowered optimus with one arm and almost beat all the auto bots
Zonerybow 515 I thought it was the giant talking robots that made the scene unrealistic. Also, Optimus took Megatron by surprise, who wasn’t looking for a fight with him. Not to mention that his mind is slowly degrading due to having half of his head still blown off. Lastly, It doesn’t matter how strong you are, if someone starts shooting you in the back out of nowhere, you lose the fight. This is how Megatron got the advantage over Sentinel.

Megatron was holding his own against all the Autobots and proceeded to overpower Optimus with a single arm momentarily. The only kicking his ass got was when he was kicked out into the vacuum of space
He was really kind in TF5. Just wanted to go home as fast as possible with any back-up people to speed it up. He didn’t kill Optimus once he took the staff because he just wanted Cybertron
For some reason, DOTM and TLK are my favorite Megatron designs. But TLK the most, since he looks more faithful to the original G1, with a Knight look to him and a sword axe.
It would’ve been cool to see the decepticons win one movie like how they did with infinity war or they could’ve at least took us to cybertron or something like that for a movie like how they did with transformers prime
I really hope that in a future Transformers movie, Optimus and Megatron team up for 5 mins to take down an antagonist that threatens both there existences.
He said that because the fallen is an original prime(and the strongest one) so he can teleport and have telekinesis but he can't use them against a prime so he don't have that much advantage from the start but sentinel and optimus are not original primes so they don't have those powers thats why Megatron can kill them but the fallen can use his powers against Megatron so it would be harder to a transformer who is not a prime to defeat the fallen , he said that because there are only two transformer who can challenge him and they are not primes(Megatron and lockdown)
I don't see how hard it would have been for Megatron to just blast the fallen. It would have saved so much time. Get Sam to get the matrix, activate the machine and presto. What purpose did the Fallen even serve?

I don't think that's the main reason they even started to fight. It was because the decepticans were destroying their own world.

I may hate him with everything I've got but he does deserve some credit for his raw power and fierce attacks, my favorite styles to see Megatron in are his look in Revenge of the Fallen and his look in The Last Knight, both are fierce, cunning, devious and deadly but those are just some qualities that make any villain pretty cool and rather fearful. All I have for Megatron is hate since he never will learn, but his styles are pretty intriguing and cool.
I gotta agree, his rotf and tlk designs are pretty cool. I also like his dotm look because he finally has an earth vehicle mode
All the stuff about galvatron was just confusing and unnecessary. Like how did he turn back into megatron? It really messed with his story arc
@@Tom-oz7wk I agree too. As much as Age of Extinction is one of my favorite Transformer films, Galvatron is just very unnecessary. Galvatron isn't just snappy, it's also cheesy.
@@meredithtoich3150 age of extinction was very good but it's because we had lockdown as the antagonist. The factionless bounty hunter was a unique character and it was a nice change to the films. Galvatron was a terrible execution of a concept I hate already. He doesn't even do anything during any of the final battle stuff. He just watches his soldiers get munched by dinobots and then throws a temper tantrum. The whole transformium gimmick was silly too. Lockdown saved the film, especially because he's so unassuming, he's not a prime or gladiator or anything but he can still hold his own against prime and it made for a fun film.

He didn't, one of the movie's four writers did, but it is easily the best line in the series. And what makes it even better is Optimus's response and the fact that it's the two original voice actors of the characters who've voiced them since 1984.

Transformers used to be good and then these new robots turned too ''human'' which for me is huge turn off
It makes sense in a way, the last bits of their culture were dying off together with Cybertron, and all the main transformers have spend very long time on Earth, which I believe led to them adjusting their looks to humans, since they reflexively wanted to fit in with Earth's habitats, because even if Megatron doesn't want to admit it, Earth has become his home of sorts, he was trapped there since first movie and it definetly had impact on him. I also feel like he was becoming less power-hungry and evil through the series, with each movie being less ruthless both towards autobots and towards humans.
In my theory, he was slowly realising how many things he lost thanks to his war for Cybertron and as he was getting tired from warfare on Earth, he was rooting for peace more and more. He started to miss Cybertron in it's glory and he didn't even care about humans anymore. I mean, he ordered to kill his sleeping agents in DOTM, and he wanted to enslave humanity, but at the other hand he didn't have a need to mock humanity or kill them any time he sees one, just look at Sam's gf, she could speak with Megatron openly without him doing any harm to her, he had no reasons to harm her anymore. And at the end, he was ready to stop the war with Optimus and go repair Cybertron together. So.. yeh, he would make a peace with humanity at the end, if he didn't get killed, which reignited his hatred and lust for vengeance and dominance.

1) most of the more characterized bots in the film are just stereotypes so I would not really called them real characters, also some are like TOO MUCH humans in face and body, they look like humans with some kind of metallic mask on their face, while in the first movie they were unique yet still robot-looking. Some of the best designs are of characters that has less than a minute of screentime like Mirage or Barricade...
2) those films have almost zero continuity... in the fourth film creators pop out, and in the fifth they are already forgot and here It Is Quintessa while I still remember being the All Spark the source of life on Cybertron and the reason Megatron crushed on earth and not to meet with Sentinel... and boy the Matrix... forgotten after just half movie!

I love how Optimus overcomes Megatron every time.
The first movie Sam helped him the second he Needed jetfire’s wings and megs became really weak and in the 4th the galvatron body was controlled by ksi and when he woke up than he needed to get used to the galvatron body and finally tf5 because they knew megs was not that stronk and they had more confidence.
TF1 he lost the one on one with megatron, TF2 wasn't his original body/was dead and Optimus had more time to train while he was at the bottom of the ocean, TF3 is basically the same thing/died and was unable to adapt to his weaker new body/ TF4 he was basically beating him as galvatron and TF5 if you look at 10:53 you can look at the size difference and it's apparent that he is much bigger and would still dog walk Optimus. Just like how Optimus got jumped in TF2, he got jumped in TF5 and lost that fight. Megatron literally won the fight on cybertron. Megs wins any day.
Just to prove that the new megatron is uber strong. He was only beat because he got sucked out of a hole. He overpowered optimus with one arm and almost beat all the auto bots

I thought it was the giant talking robots that made the scene unrealistic.
Also, Optimus took Megatron by surprise, who wasn’t looking for a fight with him. Not to mention that his mind is slowly degrading due to having half of his head still blown off.
Lastly, It doesn’t matter how strong you are, if someone starts shooting you in the back out of nowhere, you lose the fight. This is how Megatron got the advantage over Sentinel.

He said that because the fallen is an original prime(and the strongest one) so he can teleport and have telekinesis but he can't use them against a prime so he don't have that much advantage from the start but sentinel and optimus are not original primes so they don't have those powers thats why Megatron can kill them but the fallen can use his powers against Megatron so it would be harder to a transformer who is not a prime to defeat the fallen , he said that because there are only two transformer who can challenge him and they are not primes(Megatron and lockdown)
I don't see how hard it would have been for Megatron to just blast the fallen. It would have saved so much time. Get Sam to get the matrix, activate the machine and presto. What purpose did the Fallen even serve?
