Join me for the first week of this new villager-free playthrough of ASKA where we find our footing and try to survive alone on this hostile island. #aska #survivalcrafting #survivalgame
Thanks for your video, saw your comment on reddit and wanted to come take a look. Great info, great editing and commentary. I might take another try at Aska as I honestly gave up with how much of a pain just starting a game and trying to manage villagers was.
Thanks for the video! What an interesting concept! I always use the hoe to make a small plateau for my starting area (about shoulder height) to avoid being harassed by the small raids. When it comes to maintaining the farm and bloomery, I definitely would not want to manage those solo- both take way too long
Tempted to try this myself, Doing my first playthrough of Aska and I just seem to find myself looking after the villagers all the time instead of making any progress! Just entered Winter and one has already starved to death and the rest are decreasing in morale and I can't seem to improve it 😅
Do it :D The devs will be coming out with a patch this week (end of August) that allows for world sliders - so you can adjust the world difficulty to better accommodate a villager-free run.
the patch kinda broke the game A.I, so Im also tempted to try a solo run myself. It is doable if you can protect your stuff from smolkrs, which just means teraforming no reachable areas.
You totally should, it's very relaxing with just the right amount of panic moments. I'm def looking forward to doing another solo-series. And I hear you on the AI with the patch - I left day/year length normal in my new series for that reason.

Thanks, appreciate that. And yes, the villagers being a pain was the inspiration for this series lol. Episode 2 is up now FYI.

I've not tried terraforming as defenses yet but its interesting and def gonna give it a go sometime soon.
