SpaceX just revealed New Upgrade Spacesuits…
After over 2 years of development, finally, the SpaceX Extravehicular Activity (EVA) suit has been officially unveiled.
The new suit features many upgrades and changes to apply to a very special mission: the Polaris Program’s Polaris Dawn - the first commercial spacewalk mission for astronauts.
So, what special and different points does it have compared to the old suit?

Recently, on May 4th, SpaceX released an inspiring video clip, nearly a minute long, showcasing the latest Extravehicular Activity (EVA) suit marking a significant advancement in space technology and setting the stage for the highly anticipated Polaris Dawn mission this summer.
Furthermore, SpaceX has also updated details of the special features of the spacesuit, making it unique and unlike anything ever constructed.
OMG! It looks absolutely amazing! It carries the essence of a modern vibe and the evolving future of space exploration.

I can't even imagine what it would be like if I got to try it on, even just once!
What's even better is that Elon Musk also promised: "Our next-gen spacesuit will be even better!" There's no doubt that this means the current EVA suit is not SpaceX's final version, and they want to improve it even further.
It will be exciting to see what comes next!

How would those suits protect against micro meteorides? I believe the old traditional suits were bulky because the fabric had a self sealing compound, but I might be mistaken. I remember reading about this as a kid.
Those suits are connected to the life support system on spacecraft by long hose. And if there would be some leak caused by micrometeorite, it will simply increase the pressure of the air pomped into suit to equalize the leak - and astronaut will have time to evacuate. Real micrometeorite protection is required for EMU suit (those with backpacks) - becouse they do not have enough air on board to compensate for long enough time for the leak. And if some serious thing like space junk will hit you in the space, well, nothing can protect you - even armor would be destroyed.

I'm curious to see how the design is going to change as it moves towards an independent suit. For planetary EVA suits, I feel that you don't want that umbilical cord attached to the suit.
I think the placement of the umbilical seems a little risky, not being as visible from the astronauts point of view it can get caught up on something and out of easy reach to untangle.
