Ford Focus MHEV Review - it may not be the one you want, it IS the one you should get! [2020 MY]

  • Check out my full review of the 2020 MY Ford Focus MHEV (mile hybrid electric vehicle) hatchback. There's been some updates, but the big news is the new mild hybrid engine.
This car has sports suspension, all the kit and the ST bodykit, with a manual gearbox and great off the line acceleration, it's so surprisingly good, it almost makes the ST redundant.
Don't dismiss the Focus, because you'll be missing out on one of the best modern driving experiences out there, as well as all the usual practicality and versatility that comes with a daily-driver Ford.

@@BrownCarGuy This car has considerably worse MPG's than a 2015 Focus 1.5 TDCi (120 BHP) (Tax Exempt & ULEZ Compliant) Max Range about 700 miles. You can get a FSH example with less than 70,000 miles on the clock for around £7500. That makes a lot more sense to me. The 1.5TDCi (120) averages about 65 MPG and can get 80 MPG cruising at 70 mph.

My dad had a 1st gen Focus Estate Ghia 1.9 TDCI vrm ST04MGZ. I took the broacher to school and used it to help design a wooden car in CDT class.
I loved dads car. As a kid I would sit at our living room window and just look at it. Dad put nearly 200,000 on it. Helped by me as it was the first car I drove after passing my test.
I’m currently looking at buying a 2021 focus ST Line X. Maybe not the best in class but a focus will always have a place in my heart.

You are right to bring cars of this class to our attention! These are perfect for the daily commute, leaving us to enjoy our classics and modern classics on weekends without piling the miles on them. Like you I really enjoy the sound of the 3 cylinder turbo on my daily driver. The door panel protection is awesome, I did not know that was a thing? (current youth lingo).
