  • DISQUALIFIED IN A KAYAK BASS FISHING TOURNAMENT TOUR EVENT LOON LAKE, WASHINGTON..
    This was not an easy video for me to create. Reliving a mistake over and over on video while making edits and uploading clips is heartbreaking work. The video recaps my adventures on Loon Lake, in eastern Washington, fishing tournament that I am ultimately disqualified from.
    I wish I could tell you this has a happy ending or a silver lining, but it doesn't. I cast 4 minutes before "lines in" and was disqualified from the tournament. The only way I can rectify my actions is knowing that I did the right thing - I turned myself in and owned my mistake. The lessons learned are invaluable, and cannot be replaced with any victories or hardware.
    Thank you for hearing my story and reading this description.
    V/R,
    Chase Odeen Fishing

    Saw your video on the Bass Slingers FB Page. That’s a tough pill to swallow but you did the right thing. It’s sad how many people don’t have the integrity to do that like you did, speaks volumes about your character sir!

    Somebody once said that you are never wrong when you do the right thing. Don’t know who it was, but that has always stuck with me.
    Did it suck that you made a mistake and DQ’d? Sure. But at the end of the day you can stand tall and know you did the right thing. It’s just a bass tournament. It’s done and over. But our choices stay with us forever.
    I’m going to show my kids this video and we are going to talk about it together. Thanks you for sharing this. It’s a great example of a man doing the right thing and we will all learn something from your success as being a good person and doing the right thing. And that is better than any paycheck or trophy
    Keep those videos coming. We fish a small pond boat and always enjoy learning new lakes and techniques.
    Thanks again👍🏻

    Your integrity will pay off in the end brother. You made the right choice. Nobody will ever be able to say you didn’t earn it when you do win it.

    Appreciate your honesty....but think about it, you did not cheat....cheating is gaining an advantage over another angler. Did you gain an advantage over another angler by doings something against the rules? If you would have kept fishing and used that fish for your creel, then that would have been cheating. You broke a rule, and called it in on yourself. Honest mistake, you are not the first person this has happened. Don't think a DQ was in order but maybe a lb penalty. Kinda like not wearing a life jacket when the rules clearly state it. Its not cheating, its a rule infraction and should be penalized but not dq'd. Either way, you did the right thing. We as angler's have to police our own sport in these type of situations. Keep on catching.

  • @bbowen4629
    @bbowen4629 Před 3 lety +2

    I think DQ is to harsh for a honest mistake. You should have been penalized 30 min to one hour. Or a 1 inch penalty. It was not a bass master tourney. Don't agree with the decision. Did you get your money back?

    • @ReelandRoll
      @ReelandRoll  Před 3 lety +1

      It is what it is. I suggested a penalty on the spot, but it didn’t happen that way. The rules are published and they say DQ, not penalized - the end. Thanks for the comment.
