I’ve had a set of these for well over 10 years. I honestly can’t remember when I got them. I’ve actually had a couple sets over the years and have given them as gifts. Great sound for the price. Nice detail. Not bad bass. Great for any source. About the best deal in a powered 1/8th inch device. Have used them for studio monitoring, tv listening, music, podcasting, everything.
@@alanwilson2122the cable that connects them is not that long, sadly. I did however use these behind my old 55” tv and they were great. Much better than the integrated speakers!
Studio monitoring? Really? These are cheap sounding speakers, I just got a pair and they can't compare to the presonus e3.5 I own, I also have the E5 but they are astronomically better and still not great for monitoring, so idk what you mean. Reviews like yours fool people to buy things they have high expectations from. These sound exactly like £40 cheap speakers that would be considered an upgrade from laptop speakers.
I remember back in the day you could have put the Creative logo on anything and it would have sold like hotcakes. I had creative products myself and could never fault them so its refreshing to still see them in business today. Visually they look like they are more expensive than they are, like those posh "bookend" speakers you can get. Judging by your review the sound quality is better than the price point would have you believe.
Even at full price I think these would be a decent purchase so from a Facebook Marketplace deal thats even better......NOICE. Thanks again for another great video Mike and Kath
FARTY BASS !
i really enjoy creative labs stuff, both Kath and I still have the Creative / Cambridge audio FPS1000 sets which were the early four point surround systems that went with the first of the sounblaster live cards. and mine are over 25 years old now and still sound great. Wonder if these will last until my pension
@@mikesunboxing Yeah I think they'll last another 3 years ;-)
@@uglybob7505 I should hope so :-)
Dear god! thank you for actually giving me a really great sound test of these speakers. Every person I found had weird music playing over the test, or playing one song without showing the range and differences depending on genre. I wanted to know if the vocals would sound okay, if jazz it would pick up the instruments, and how it overall sounded balance wise. You are a life saver. I didn't just want to buy them without hearing them properly.
No problem! these are very clear vocally if lacking slightly in the bass low ends
They sound exactly like £40 speakers would sound... cheap ! Don't be fooled by the reviews, it's probably people who upgraded from laptop speakers to this, someone even said they're using them for studio monitors 😂😂😂
Fun fact, the T20 speakers were the first product I ever unboxed/reviewed on my channel. They were great for the price so I imagine these are the same if their anything to go by.
yes i think i can recall that video!
Thanks for the review, I was split between the pebbles and these and went for the pebbles but just returned them. They are fine but everything Im seeing on these is that the sound is significantly better, especially bass response so I’m going to order a set of T10’s instead.
Hope you like them :-)
just bought some, arrived today, they are pretty good if you have decent quality music going through to them, obviously missing the sub bass but a real improvement on my dell all-in-one speakers, well built too
Glad you're pleased with them :-)
They 're great, i paid $20 to a friend. I love it.
Glad you like them :-)
Buen video .Saludos desde Lima Perú
Gracias por ver :-)
Listening to the test through my set of them I got from the thrift store like "Hm,yes, the sound is made of sound"
Thanks, your video convinced me to grab a pair. They exceed my expectations and I really like them. Kinda surprising this model has been around for so long and has barely gotten any attention.
Perhaps they roll off at 80 Hz in an anechoic chamber but in room and nearfield on a desk they go much lower, essentially full range and sounding larger than they are.
Considering the rave around iloud micro's I'd say these t10's are not a completely embarrassing alternative or at least worth the gamble at 1/8th the price.
i think they are great for the size and cost
I still use these speakers with my smart TV at the mo, they sound pretty good really, had the speakers for years on various laptops and PCs! This week, thought I'd invest in a 'JBL' 2.0 all-in-one soundbar, and the soundbar sounded AWFUL in comparison, so I took it back and plugged these speakers back in again! Still looking to upgrade these, my hearing is not fantastic, and it's time I got some better speakers.
the t20 are a good upgrade or t40
That bass drop... what us old folk know from the Akai test tone suite gave those drivers a real dusting. Those T10s are half decent, I know a few folk that have that model very popular for sound, the price and they age well. I got my mum the creative t15s for her birthday this year to replace some crappy USB powered pod speakers. I got them for £25 due to the box being crushed a bit (yes I'm that cheap) but they sound great too.
yeah these are a decent little set and the sound stage isn't amazing but the tonal quality is top notch
lol Mike's expression during different music types.
sorry was tired and silly :-)
Mike as an electrical engineer i can tell you these are better than the very expensive creative t40 speakers, i have both sets and i much prefer the clarity of these over the t40, the t40 distort very easy and the treble is non existent, the t10 are a big winner, i have a pair on the riotoro pc i showed you a picture of, also electrically these t10's have a much better midbass driver, although the tweeters are mylar and silk domes usually sound better, in the case of the t10 thats not the case at all. in my extensive testing the frequency response is 78 - 19,700Hz, this means a subwoofer that crosses over at 80Hz would be a perfect combination, ok the t40s have 2 midbass drivers in each cabinet, but theyre smaller drivers and the cabinet/amplifier design in the t40's are horrendous. these beat them by a mile for sound quality and build quality actually. these have a lovely soundstage, listening to 80s dance tracks ive had to look over my shoulders quite a few times thinking my surround system was switched on. have a listen to a classical piece called "goddess of the woods" by Patrick Hawes, its the most beautiful piece of music, also "goodbye milky way" by Enigma.
wow there is some great info there! i agree the t10's are really good for what they are and the price i paid is an absolute steal
thanks
No problem
Kind of eyeballing these to go with a wall mounted TV in our office. My Creative Pebble is great but could use a smidge more bass. Unfortunately can’t have a sub because we’re in an apartment.
not a bad choice
Found these for £4 in a charity shop with all cables so seems I got a pretty good deal
Not bad, not bad at all. you will be impressed, especially for £4
That is TRS tip ring sheath as discussed there.
nope definitely seems to be TRS tip ring sheath as discussed here www.provideocoalition.com/ts-trs-trrs-trrrs-combating-the-misconnection-epidemic/
Do they produce the "Hissing" sound when they are IDLE? I experienced some speakers, that have the annoying sound when they are at like 50% of their volume and there is a "herc" sound when they idle.
not that i can tell. that is often static from the input signal or the mains power
I know it’s been a bit since you reviewed this, but one of the Amazon reviewers talked about a sort of brief hiss as the speakers dropped in and out of a stand by mode after about 15 seconds or so. It was something that once they heard they couldn’t on hear, but they also prefaced by saying they have sensory issues and most people probably wouldn’t notice. I was just wondering if in your experience with the T10s if you heard anything like that, and if it was any big deal? I’m replacing an old Dell soundbar that sounds absolutely wretched so I’m sure these would be a huge upgrade, but I still would like to know everything that I can before I purchase them.
there are a few revisions of these speakers and some that we built and sold in some regions had to have the "power saving" feature enabled, some older units don't have it. I haven't noticed it on these
Hey Mike, how different are these from creative gigabyte t20 in terms of sound clarity? I am confused between this, t20 and bose companion 2 . Not really a bass person just need something with good voice clarity. Even if I can get 90% of Bose sound with 50% less expensive, I am happy with that. Thanks!
the t20 is much better
@@mikesunboxing Twice as expensive though. 😅
If you want to get drunk really, really fast play the drinking game every time Mike says *actually*
🤪🤣
i might try it myself :-)
I have always had good use out of creative PC speakers and for the price they can't be beaten. I always used them when travelling doing presentations as they will take the knocks. But as a self-confessed Bose fanboy these days.........................! Dam! Bobs beaten me by 4 hours. The last thing my grandfather said before he died was “It’s worth it to spend money on good speakers.”
That was some sound advice.
some sound advice - i see what you did there - fridays bad joke or lucky coincedence?
@@mikesunboxing it was the Friday bad joke on Friday.
I notice 😘
How do these compare to the Creative Pebble V2, as that's a lot cheaper, and USB powered?
these are a big jump up in volume and clarity although the pebbles have a lower frequency supported for deeper bass but lack the clarity in the mid range
@@mikesunboxing Creative website listed the V2 as having a frequency response of 100-17,000 Hz while the T10 is 80-20,000 Hz. T10 is 10W RMS while V2 is only 8W RMS, so if the specs are true, then I bet T10 has better performance.
Came across your good detailed video may you tell me they sir if these speakers would work great for playing movies? Im looking on planning on getting speakers to use for my portable DVD player :) help appreciated on budget?
yes they are pretty good and if you can pick them up cheaply i think they will be fine, the mid range is very clear so vocals should be nice and clear
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows if these could ve used to connect to an audio interface? I'm setting up a music studio and was interested
they use a simple 3.5mm jack so i would think so
@@mikesunboxing thanks Mike!
Do you know if these speakers have the annoying sleep mode circuitry incorporated?
the version i had , did not have this "feature" but i have heard reports that a lot of EU sold devices have it for meeting power saving requirements
How does this compare to the pebble v3? And what about voice ? Like watching shows are their voices clear compared to the pebble v3?
looking forward to testing the pebble V3 but i would expect these to be better due to using AC power and a more robust speaker cabinet
@@mikesunboxing are you aware that there is a t10 r3 version ? i think it was updated in 2016 and is there any difference compared to the one you're using
@@GhettoSuguru no i wasn't aware of that, i wonder what the refinements are?
Hey friend, excellent video. How good do you think these speakers are compared to the Creative Pebble, the regular version, the V2, V3 and even the Pro?
they are a lot better than any of the USB powered models
Are these better than the Logitech Z313s, I'm struggling to choose between the two
Not tried them sorry so can’t say for sure
Up to what bass frequency do they support?
On the box it says up to 80hz but my current speakers say up to 150hz and can be heard on 90hz and it's not supposed to support that frequency
they seem to work down to around 40hz for me using one of those frequency tests on youtube
@@mikesunboxing and are they worth buying for 50 dollars?
@@snampryio8939 canadian dollars yes, american dollars maybe
@@mikesunboxing they are american dollars
I got a pair of these just the other day and for whatever reason the sound keeps cutting every ten or so minutes. Then I have to turn it off and turn it back on again. Any ideas what's going on
if there is no sound they go into a sleep mode, blame the EU power regulations for that one
@@mikesunboxing Thing is if I'm playing a game or watching a video on CZcams for ten minutes or longer it still happens Any ways to get around it
@@Aaron_Gentry if there is constant audio and it still does it then that sounds like a fault and they should be returned
Can i use these with a turntable and then plug headphones into the speakers so sound comes through the headphones?
the turntable might require a phono pre amp, but it might work
Are the speakers today good? And is the bass good? I'm german I don't understand the whole video. And what is the different between the tone button and the volume button?
yes they are good. the bass is good also. the volume is making the sound lower or higher and the tone dial adds or removes treble at one end and bass and the other
@@mikesunboxing thanks for the answer

The inner speakes have a huge magnet, that's where the weight comes from.
I opened mine and found that the cables connected in the twitters were reversed. I corrected the polarity and now I feel/hear more highs...
hmm might have a look at mine....
@@mikesunboxing be careful when opening the right speaker, unscrew everything behind the knobs. The mainboard is glued with silicone to the back of the speaker , so the mb won't come out with the front panel (I broke the potenciometer of the volume knob thinking it was free).

Which is better the pebble plus or the t10s ?
T10s are in a different class audio wise
Boom, Im first again :-)
Yes you are!
Lol
Damn! That's a lot of bass for a tiny, cheap set of speakers! 😲👍
yes they are very good.
Will they work well for playing games like rocket league and listening to music?

Actually it does make sense that the speakers would have lumps of metal in them to control their resonance behavior.
ah gotcha, that makes sense
It's difficult for us to tell how good the sound is because we are not hearing those speakers we are hearing our own speakers!
True, but they are Creative speakers. I have my 5.1 set of them for nearly 10 years and still sound crisp.

Small speakers with tweeters, Why? No wonder the tone is lacking 🤔
i suppose it helps with the higher frequencies
Just got a pair and i really don't know what i expected, They sound exactly like £40 speakers would sound.... cheap.
strange, maybe the output isn't very high level?
@@mikesunboxing no i just expected too much from cheap speakers, probably because of all the good reviews coming from people who upgraded from laptop speakers, meanwhile I come from presonus e3.5 and e5 , totally my fault for expecting anything more than what these are.
UPDATE: ok so I've managed to hook them up to my scarlet solo gen 3 and it's actually bearable now. Previously I've had them plugged in to my PC ( mobo is b550 ). So yeah actually not that bad, still no match for the presonus e3.5 which are twice the price but 4x the performance.
My conclusion is: if you're upgrading from laptop speakers, or some £10 usb powered speakers and have limited space then you'd enjoy them.
Otherwise unless you have some sort of audio interface and an auxiliary to TRS cable, you're better off spending a bit more for better speakers.
