    Fantastic described.. Can i get closer output by any regular speed light soft box..pls advice.. Thnx

    • @ChristopherMichaelImages
      @ChristopherMichaelImages  Před rokem

      Unfortunately most speed lites are mostly 100w. Which means it won't have the power to really expose your subject while keeping the background exposed properly with a soft box. You may try a couple speed lites or you can get an ND filter which will allow you to keep your shutter speed under 1/200 of a sec.

    at 5:00, you moved the flash a little far away, will the flash still provide enough power for 3/4 lenghth portrait? (the previous shot you already go with 1/1 full power)

  • @danmango5
    @danmango5 Před 4 lety +1

    You've got me interested in learning flash photography. I have a Canon 77d. The shutter only goes to 4000 where your using 6400. Do I need a better camera body. I was planning on buying the godox ad200 until I seen this video. Would the ad200 work outside? What lenz where you using.
    Thanks for the help and nice work!

    • @ChristopherMichaelImages
      @ChristopherMichaelImages  Před 4 lety +1

      A single AD200 won’t give you the power to shoot with an aperture of f2.8 or below. At best you would have to shoot at least f5.6. You won’t get the depth of field but still be able to get good enough lighting on your subject. I started out with two ad200s. There are flash mounts for using two of them.

    What’s a tip on figuring out your zoom and power?

    • @ChristopherMichaelImages
      @ChristopherMichaelImages  Před 3 lety

      For the zoom I do the best I can to have the most amount of zoom causes background bokeh the best. Power on the flash I set it buy taking a shot too bright turn it down. Not bright enough turn it up or move it closer. Seems simple but in practice it works well

      Angela Bowe i believe the AD600 is the most versatile. The AD200s are great same with the 400. But if you are looking for something to cancel out the sun the AD600 is the way to go.

    Nice video.
    I have a question. You are using godox ad600 which is way more powerful than a speedlight. I have a godox tt600 speedlight with a 60cm softbox. How will the distance from the subject change considering the same harsh light situation?

    • @ChristopherMichaelImages
      @ChristopherMichaelImages  Před 3 lety

      The issue you will have is the tt600 will not be able to cancel out the harsh light on its own if you are trying to expose for the sky. It just doesn’t have the power to do it. What you can try and do is adjust your settings as best you can to bring the sky out as much as possible for the flash to still put good light on your subject. The closer you have the flash to you subject the more you will be able to adjust for the sky.

  • @Strravaganza
    @Strravaganza Před rokem

    The grid was completely useless. It hardens the light and reduces flash output.
