gabe seems very serious, focused, knowledgeable, articulate, strong...but does he have speed, looks very fast, dude's on the right track
On his Instagram, I believe, he says he represents Mexico in competition. Other than that, Mexico has no real male presence in elite bodybuilding and Strongman (that I know of). No Mr. Olympia competitors, no other Strongman competitors either, no elite powerlifters. He's US, MX, Latino Texan. lol - decent mix there.
He's very artistic in this sport really picks apart what every detailed movement does really love working with Gabe
Looks like Brian's taking him under his wing too, I'd say he smells potential for a new WSM dominate competitor. I give it 3 years, Pena will be WSM and sweeping leader boards
@@ethanh6849 doubt that very much bro,u saying he's gonna b sweeping Tom Stoltman, I think u smoking something bro.Not a bloody chance in hell!😯🤔🤯🤔🤯👁👀👁🤯🤯
@@craigmorgan4676 i wish i was smoking it bro, Toms a great competitor and a hell of a story, but i think if Pena keeps it up we're gona see one hell of a match up
Really enjoyed seeing Gabe in these. He seems like a guy desperate to absorb knowledge and try his hardest. I hope we see him evolve into a top tier strongman over the next couple of years.
@Lord K thats the only way to make a decent living in strongman.
Brian is such a great guy, helping his competitors get better too. Inspirational for sure.
He's a competitor but also now apart of the evolution athletics team
@Lord K Do you do your job for free?
Love that Brian's new coach is implementing dynamic effort method and some conjugate methodology. Plus wenning warmups
you can really see the gears turn when Gabe is listening. these big guys don't always get a lot of credit for their brains, but he seems to have a good one
This Gabe seems like the nicest guy! Love his energy!
He is actually a very nice guy. I met him at the Shaw Classic 2021. And he was a solid stand up guy.
I feel like if Brian effectively builds a deadlift which is halfway between his normal deadlift and the deadlift he does in the second half of the vid... that'd be a scary strong deadlift!! I've always thought Brian's had the strength for a 500kg deadlift, but maybe not the technical proficiency for it.. Until now!! His coach is killing it 💪💪
Hes always had it in him, i dont think weve ever seen Brian gut out a max deadlift. Which is smart on his part, high risk lift, he typically just does whats necessary to win or gain appropriate points for the event. Justifying the point made by many commentators that hes not just a strong brute, Brians a thinker and assesses every event/lift. If he wanted the deadlift world title, i dont think many would question his ability to hit it
@@ethanh6849 I think the other problem is that his tendons just can’t support the amount of strength he truly has. If that makes any sense, if he went all out I feel like multiple tendons would give. Even steel cables snap eventually.
@@righttohavebeararms.4300 youre not wrong, speaking from personal experience. Ive had bones crack under weight my muscles didnt have a prob with. Nick best/eddie hall mention this as well in one of their nat geo specials they did a while back
I see his tension is better now on the starting position.
Love watching the videos keep up the great work!! Congrats on how far you've gpne!!!
When Gabe speaks it like listening to a professional sports broadcaster
Man, Brian is training to lift the Earth *AND* pull the Moon out of orbit. Goals.
For Brian thats not a goal. Its just a warm up.
Yes, just like Thanos
@@undertaker666dead I meant goals for me, but for him, definitely a light warmup.
@@ss4jarmon Thanos only wished he had the power of Brian.
Not with how slow his bar speed is.
Great video! Good to see Gabe getting more recognition.
I’ve always been amazed at your deadlifts Brian, for a man of your height they are so very impressive
Always awesome to see Shaws videos
I love how these guys warmup on my PB. Partly humbling, partly inspiring. Makes me want to go into my garage and start doing deadlifts.... I think I will now
Get it man
Hey Shaw, I enjoy watching and listening while working to your videos, you seem like a very cool down to earth guy, keep it coming Motivator!
Love the collabs, hope we get more of them and more often
Loved seeing you both feed off each other, can really see that in this duo!!!
Brian's so BIG, he makes 45lb plates look like 25s😳
Great work guys! Looking good B!
Absolutely love Gabe. so excited to see his future he’s super strong and a really really kind individual.
Brian, please keep selecting such great athletes as your workout partners. Surrounding yourself with people that are talented and always positive, and keeping at arm’s length those who are not, is a great strategy. I am thoroughly enjoying the workouts you have videoed as of late. There is a great vibe in the air!
Gabe has a”Kaz” like presence. Dude is legit and really has camera appeal. Brian and Gabe could have a great thing going here. Keep it up guys! These videos are amazing!! Love the chemistry. Brian has so much knowledge and Gabe is a sponge. This could be a deadly combination!!!!
Great vid. Not seen a lot of the Texan Titan before
Love the shirt shaw!
Yessir, reppin Texas 💪
It's things like this that will make the new gym even better!
DON'T WISH FOR IT! WORK FOR IT! That hit me right in the teeth, sitting here wishing I had my 25 year old body back. Awesome inspiration from an awesome guy.
Brian Shaw is strong and smart.
Another good guest.
I really thought Brian was going to kool-aid man it right through the garage door when carrying the yoke.
The camerawork is just incredible
Really appreciate you sharing your training techniques. Don’t see a lot of guys doing things like this, it’s gonna pay off at world’s.
Who loves following along with their workouts with modified weights ofc?? I sure do!
So your saying you don't deadlift what Shaw does??
Camera man and editor are doing a bang up job lately.
Gabe has a great voice, he should find a way to use it like announcing/podcast/voice acting/etc.
he has sat in and announced a few amateur shows… i know for a fact he announced one of the static monsters while competing and pulling a wr deadlift in it
Looking good very interesting seeing the bio mechanics in motion Brian has to sit back alot more in the lift it almost becomes a squat just because of where his levers and pivot points are.
Brian Shaw and his deadlifts are crazy!
"Deadlift day is the best day" needs to be on a t-shirt
Whatching Brian lift is like watching steel machinery move weights around.
Gabe showing some serious speed, very impressive!
I know BIG Z is considered the greatest strongman of all time but Brian can't be too far behind especially with all the content he brings 💪
big z is the greatest in terms of titles but brian is by far doing the most in terms of growing the sport and bringing it to a bigger audience
@@mustwinmedia yeah without brian I wouldn’t have even started lifting, let alone training strongman
If Big Z is number 1 then Brian 1B. Basically whatever position you put one of them you're putting both.
Technically if you look at WSM specifically Mariusz has more wins but over all nobody can say Brian isn't a legend in the sport
@@paolocaso6734 the sport of strongman isnt just that one comp overall no one comes close to big zs record
his 8 arnolds for example compared to brians 3 and mariuzs 0
Pena with this t shirt look badass 😈 good job brian and pena 💪🏼💪🏼
Great form on the deads.
Brandon Allen’s vert pull nice
you two are great strongmen💪💪
I idolize brian Shaw absolute beast of a person
It's nice to see Pena finally getting some exposure
Fan of Gabe.. hope he does great this year!
Look at Brian!!! That's a Big Nasty Beast Right There!! Let's go Brandon!
deadlift day is the best day indeed!!!
Great workout👍💪
Awesome bro . RGV in the house !!!
That very pull thing looks sick
Dude, Peña reminds me so much of Kazmaier!! Just with how he presents himself. Looking forward to seeing him at his best!!
Can't wait to see them at shaw classic
Wishing you an injury free competition Brian
Just trying to imagine how Congress would look if two "competitors" could act like these two men!
agreed
You mean like when Arnie was a senator?
Depends, is one threatening to burn down the gym?
@@MisterBoy316 Governor

Hey Brian!! Thanks for being such a great inspiration! I’m 6 foot 6, 275 pounds, 28 years old. Just started training for WSM. Hoping to be on the stage with you in 5-6 years time! Love the videos :)
Enjoy all the steroids and lower life expectancy
@@edi6722 Who hurt you?
@@janapewen362 nobody? I’m just letting him know the path that this is because it’s not healthy at all and all these guys are taking steroids so you have no real chance to compete naturally
roids roids roids and do a five day fast same time every month
gotta have backers or a good job and sponsors or lots of money saved up to get enough gear to be a pro strong man
@@feelinghealingfrequences7179 and a shit ton of food lol
U and Gabes back strength is insane. Any tips on how to make a stronger deadlift from two masterminds like yourselves?
Pena pulls quick and keeps pace, good stamina 👊🏼
you are always the best
Wonderful very beautiful I adore your superpower keep it up champ 💪💪
Shaw is hungry WSM 22 💪
🙏🙏🙏💪🏆WSM 22
No he weak been watching the other THERE right now deadlifting 800-900 pounds. Even the farmer's ARE at 1000 pound to 900 pound and the small german guy dumbbell are insane like Eddie halls 250-300 pounds BRIAN is not even close.
@@darkart-mr8wu Top 3 will be Tom Stoltman, Novikov and Brian Shaw. Wild cards will be JF Caron and Martins Licis. 💪
long time subscriber and recently i never see your videos being suggested i always have to look you up 🤔
Watching this just before my deadlift session
Hey Brian I know chances of you seeing this aren’t great but I should at least give it a shot. You are my idol for many reasons your talent, your professionalism, and because all of the things you do to contribute to the sport. Do you have any tips to stay motivated to get out there and continue bettering myself in the fitness world? Thanks!
I want to give Brian a long hug
Way to get down low on those paused deads Brian, looked amazing! Hope the glute doms weren't to bad
9:30 I think I hear the phone in their talking "back, back, back..." It's like some tiny robot is directing them. Hilarious.
2/15/22, 3:57 p.m.
I like Gabe. He's got a great future ahead of him. It don't hurt a thing, training with B Shaw. Hopefully 5X WSM this year.
Worlds most humble men.
Not sure I could call myself the titan of somewhere when literally looking up at the colossus that is Brian.
One rep makes all the difference. One mis-loaded sandbag, one missed log, one less deadlift. Get that 5th title Brian! BE GREAT
Where are the donuts and chocolate milk Gabe!? 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I think taking second at WSM gave Brian a lot more confidence he's going all out now and although I am a big fan of Tom stoltzman he better not get too cocky.
I was doing a back day last night. Have y'all considered doing a halting deadlift? That's essentially where the bar comes to just above the knee, and back down.
With Martins and Mateusz back it'll be even harder for Brian to win another WSM, but I wish him all the best
I hope Brian's hamstring is doing okay after the rogue
He seems to be symmetrical on this speed work so hopefully.
@@What-he5pr I hope so, his 5 plate sumo deadlifts had me worried though
@@simondean5227 I didn't get to that part of the video yet, I'm nervous now.
@@What-he5pr it wasn't from this video it was from a couple weeks back, he was doing 495 sumo for triples and it looked pretty difficult
@@simondean5227 him training sumo is a good thing. He’s never really done it before, he’s not gonna be able to jump into it and be pulling 700 easy right away. Especially when he’s been deadlifting a totally different way for the last decade. Credit to Brian for self evaluating and realizing he needs to radically change how he trains deadlifts.
Hey big B, how's the hamstring after the surgery/injection? I believe they said up to a year it'd take to heal?
I like how Brian's forearms are the same thickness as my legs. Sick.
what’s up gabe i’m also from south texas bro i live right here by edinburg as well 😎
PLEASE! Strongman Yoga class with Eddie, rob, and the other classics. PLEASE MAN.
are there ever training sessions or portions where strong men only train as haard as they feel comfortable without things like hand straps, hernia belts, or for stone training without tacky? I heard Eddie talk about it long ago but im not sure if that was in a video or an episode of strongest man in history. i just remember you, ed, and ob were all there when he was talking about it
Brian should start sponsoring athletes. Gabe would be one to consider…
When will you post the events for your amateur contest for the Shaw classic?
You can tell Gabe is a MONSTER on deadlift. He's going for the record, right??
I'd reckon Gabe has the strength, technique, and drive nessacary to break the world record.
He goes for the Axle WR if I remember it correctly
This dude is cool, I hope he wins next string man
WOW!! So, much better on your deadlift form. You'll lift so much more weight now. And not get injured. Before, you were lifting to much with your back and hamstrings. Nice Work!!
Brian must’ve ate another human when he was younger. My dude is two grown men in one.
Hard work + staying safe + being healthy =🏆
WOOO COACH
I'd love to see Rob and Gabe do a video I feel like they would play off each other well
Have you done a followup on your PRP treatment and how your hammie is. Very apparent that you're trying to train yourself to be protected in the bottom position of the dead going into this comp
Good question, id also like to know cause they said that procedure would completely fix it. Including the original tear from like 2018
@@jaket2274 He explained it heals over time with that procedure
@@CWPWWRESTLING I understand that, anything takes time to heal. I was just saying I’d like an update on how that’s doing bc the first tear never healed completely and this procedure was supposed to fix both of the tears completely (not immediately though as I think you assumed I meant)
That bar looked so damn tiny when Brian was using it 😅😂😂
I want to train at the Mountain gym!
Awesome
Gabe was bricked up🤣
You should have your trainer on the podcast.
Hey Brian ! sorry if my question is stupid, what is this string hanging on the right of your deadlift bar?? a counter?
I want some of them shin guards
How are they NOT hitting their nuts on that bar? haha
My arms are JUST at the the right length that the bar lines up perfectly with my junk haha
Been thinking about getting a cup specifically for when I deadlift 😅
Steroids shrink your nuts
Their thighs are so thick it pushes the bar forward
