- The Jeep sky one touch rear glass couldn't be removed until now. By viewers request I removed the back window of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe with sky one touch. Here I will show you how to remove the back glass on the Jeep Wrangler 2021 JL
The Jeep 4xe back glass replacement is very easy. DO NOT over tighten the rear window bolts.

I would suggest put the window hinge bolts back in their holes, first you won't lose them, second they will prevent dirts get into the hole.
Great idea Jun!!!
i wish the window can roll down just like the 4runner does or any after soft vinyl window and roll up
This is the reason why the back glass should have been powered on that model
Just did this per your instructions and took less than 5 minutes with the wife to hold the glass. Thank you for all of your guidance on this amazing beast.
Absolutely brother. It’s pretty easy!!
Just followed you step by step. Such a big difference with the wind. Can't imagine not doing this now
This is to difficult for most customers. The rear window should have the same quick disconnect latches as the rear quarter windows. Also the rear defrost grid connector should have been removable by the one driver side connection and the washer hose should have been routed at all the same location. Quick disconnect push button pin to release/connect the bottom shock from the mounting bracket’s.
Thank you! New-ish jeeper with this model, will definitely be trying this (safely with a friend!) Appreciate your content!
Keep experimenting my dude, obviously the man can put on the one touch perfectly back together
Thank you!
@@BrandonHaneline if anyone wants to talk stupid they should see how I tried to build my 2015 3.6 to be a v8 swap killer
Sweet!!
I can’t wait to see the video on that :)
Thanks Brandon, made this super easy for me.
Thank you for the video instruction! I can't wait to try this.
Thanks for the videos. Well done! My 2021 JLUR should arrive in the next couple of weeks and I've been wondering how to remove the top and/or rear window.
Glad to see this. However the one I ordered has a soft top so I won't be taking my glass off. LOL... But I am smarter than I was before I watched it.
Thanks for all the great videos.
Pat
I love this. I really hope Jeep redesign this to be a quick remove rear window when they update the power top. With the rear glass out and side windows out it’s almost like having a full tip down feeling.
You are correct!!
I totally agree with you. I would like to try doing this as well this weekend. Thank you so much for doing this video!! My son was just saying how horrible of a vortex it created when sitting in the back seat when windows are down and touch top is open.
You rock Brandon - all the videos I want answers to - and then some!!
Awesome!! Glad you enjoyed!!
Great video. I have to say i overtight one of the backglass screw and broke yhe head of the screw. No need to replace whole assembly. You remove glass, then bolts. After you drill the rivet. You can remove the small bolt backplate from the wire whole. Make new threads, place backplate back, new rivet and put back glass in place.
Thanks for the video… was worried about the frost connection. Worked well. I crimped and zip tied the washer hose to avoid an accident. I also disconnected the washer hose at its connection. Now I am ready for a river crossing to get it wet anyway
Great idea for programming the accessories buttons! How about a "rough neighbourhood" button which closes all windows, the Sky One Touch and locks the doors with the push of one button. One button for all windows up/down and one for all windows and top, open and closed. One question I have is how would you clean the engine bay? I used to have my ICE engine steam cleaned now and then. A video on cleaning the engine bay would be informative.
I’m doing this!! I always wanted to take my back glass off!! Thank you for this video!!
It’s really easy!!
This was very helpful, thanks
Thanks BH! Love your creativity and filming style. Everyone should film and narrate like you 👍 Great content and great producing. Keep these coming!
Oh, one other one - next time you pop off your Sky roof, consider adding the Mopar grab handles - looks like they can only be installed with the roof bolts loosened up.
Oh yea!! Definitely!!
Brandon you are a smooth jeep operator dude! Love your vids!
Thank you so much. Make sure you share with everyone.
Ty 👋🏼 Brandon 🥰🥰🥰… I was going to remove that back glass for better flow myself too…& u beat me to it ✅👍🏽
Awesome!!! Go for it!!
That’s awesome Brandon !!!! Thank you for the info, really easy to do for sure! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Awesome glad you enjoyed!!
@@BrandonHaneline Definitely doing that when I take the doors off as well.
Great video, thank you!
Good information. Good to know.
Great vid! Nice 4XE by the way! (I got one too)
Thank you Brandon. Love the videos a lot of information.
Waiting for an update on the tazer!!
@@BrandonHaneline I hope we get something soon, the wife be hauling tail lol
Lol 😂
Good information, enjoy your videos
Thank you so much!!
Hey Brandon, great videos! Is it possible to remove the full back rear glass panel? The 6 bolts holding it to the frame, 2 bolts into the top support bracket, and disconnect the electrical/washer fluid hose and leave the rest of the top in place? It looks easy enough in your top removal video. The rear glass panel doesn't look like it is supporting much of the weight of the top due to the long support brackets mounted to the roll cage.
your Jeep is really cool.👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I thought that was one of the big design flaws of the sky top...that stupid wind block of a back window. Appreciate your quick easy methods. I can totally do this myself. I think I'd like to buy a padded bag to be able to bring the window with me on certain occasions.
Have you found any nets that would cover the back window and removed glass that would allow a dog back there, but keep them in? I can only find the triangular ones for the roll bars, but that leaves a gap on the back side of the bars.
If the rear glass had a small rear Gladiator window it wouldn't cause the vortex air block problem + power or manual mini van tilt out windows needed for venting on hot days.
Other way is jalousie style tilt blind style rear glass like on 60s/70s homes. Or clear plastic zipper panel over Camaro style rear glass cover, so u hve security feature & way to vent on the cheap.
Thanks!
Could you do most of that (besides the big four bolts) when sitting in the back with the tailgate open and glass down?
Thanks! I might try it... Or may just drive with the back window open?
I wonder if the wire on the passenger side of the glass heater can be simply modified with a clip on/off connector so that way there’s no fear to damage the soldered connection to the heating grid and be able to simply disconnect it just like the drivers side make it more of a bolt on bolt off rear glass
When The 392 Concept was shown it didn’t have the rear glass seeing this makes it seem soooo much more convincing to do
1:30 - Still love those flashlights and the holder
Yea I wish I was still selling them!!
Is that a fire extinguisher velcroed to the driver side rail in the back? What brand is that?
Waiting for this!!!! Yaaassss
Awesome!! Let me know what you think.
Maybe stick a golf tee in the rear washer tube in the case you accidentally trigger the fluid spray.
Is it even possible to convert the sky one touch top into a hardtop? Or is the brackets and railing way too different?
If side glass was a box both sides w/plex tinted looking glass u hve 2 storage boxes or can remove for open look. Hve a molie panel instead of tint poly plex window gives u a overlanding mount spot.
the boxes should b able to lock together into a rolling carry on deal w/a handle, so the plex cover in tint is not prt of the box just cover & can b used on clean look or off plex instead molly look.
thank you so much for your videos!
The hose at 14:18 connects to a little black square on the outside of the rear glass. What is it some sort of antenna?
Question: raise your hand if you are planning to remove your glass 😅 I can’t even change a spark plug 😂😂
LOL
what about the whole rear section???
Can this back glass fit in the car so you can even Carry it
I'm curious if you still work at the dealership or not?
The hummer had a push one button and all windows go down thing. It was kool.
I have to creat that.
@@BrandonHaneline You totally should. I would use it all the time. I constantly put my 2 front to go down the immediately the 2 rear
They should make the back glass like the side windows …just pop off it’s frame 🤔🤷🏻♂️👍
This is why I just bought a traditional soft top
I know you've done a few on mpg but haven't seen the average mpg after and range of 1 full battery and 1 tank together, would love to know, thanks
Already have done this. Here is the link czcams.com/video/qSk4hbhjm8I/video.html
What would you recommend, taking off the whole Sky One Touch or the rear window?
Open feel
Sky 1 touch, so much better and convenient.
Brandon, did you make a video on removing the rear side windows?
No havent. would you like for me too?
@@BrandonHaneline sorry for the delay! No, I realized I can’t take the glass out of the 3-piece hardtop. However, I would like an update to the charger adapter you tried previously and whether or not it was a bad charger or incompatible adapter- if you have time. Thank you for the hard work.
Is there a seperate reservoir for the rear washer fluid or is that line plumbed all the way from the front?
Its plumbed all the way from the front.
There is no separate reservoir
Just dont accidentally turn on the fluid for back window with it tucked away in there...
That would not be good
Why would Yu leave just inches of frame seems more difficult than removing the whole top
Is it a bad idea to keep the back glass just propped open when driving? vs taking the glass off?
That’s how I drive lol no issues so far
Me too........plus I kinda like the way it looks with it open
Can you put the front windshield down on your jeep next ?
Heck yes I can!!
Looking forward for that as well. “Apparently” we can’t with the one touch.
Was a video ever made on putting the sky one touch back on?
Launching tomorrow morning!!
@@BrandonHaneline Cool thanks! Appreciate your videos 💪🏼
If you're buying a new jeep stay away from the power top. Get a dual top package or just a soft top. Taking the top off is a huge difference. You won't get the open car feel with that power top, it's 4k and bound to break.
You can take the power top off for the open air feel. I had mine off and on 10 times though the summer. No noise tot problems. Best top makes the power top for jeep the same people that make the folding soft top.
@@BrandonHaneline You mean taking off the fabric?
The rail system that powers the fabric can be taken off but is a mechanical nightmare. You will also void warranty if things go wrong which will happen. Jeep does not recommend taking apart the mechanical railings. You're still stuck with the frame of the car and the back window. It's no where near as open as having the entire top actually off. Why would you go through all of this? Makes no sense. Soft top is by far the best option and you save 4k. The other issue is, if you take off your rear glass and take off the sky touch roof you run the risk of getting caught in the rain, you can't travel far cause you have to worry about weather. The soft can be taken apart and put back on in minutes.
Watch this video and you will see it’s very easy it’s no different than regular hardtop. There’s eight bolts on each side and it just lifts off like a regular hardtop czcams.com/video/S6VUuxf5cL8/video.html
And it does not void your warranty as it is a removable item just like removing your radio does not void the radio warranty
Text me at (704) 459-3087 That’s my cell number. I can go more in depth that way seriously mine stays off the whole summer
Back glass is the only thing preventing me from upgrading to a power top. Completely stupid design by Jeep. Maybe they will fix that soon….
The rear window staying in defeats the whole purpose of the one touch . Horrible design
I don’t see a point in this. Takes way too long to have to just put it back on again. Jeep needs to come up with an easy way to take that back window off. They barely have any features but decide to add a pointless windshield wiper in the back and defrost. We don’t need that.
Unless you have had a sky one touch you probably do not know what your talking about for all these commentors on here. Ive run 85 down the freeway with top open, side window out etc. and the back glass is not a problem at all with it still on the jeep. The sky one touch gives you many more options than the other tops frankly. The flip flop wearing soft top bums will bitch about anything other than a basic mail carrier jeep.
Good god just sell the one touch and get a blue mytop
