    Ken love your videos, but how do you do a living in St Cloud video and not actually show the city of st cloud?!? The brick streets, monthly market, twin theater, lake front. Loading... Gastro and 10th St market - if you haven't been check them out! Honestly St Cloud is like 3 totally different areas. The northern Narcoosse area which is basically merging into Sunbridge/Lake Nona. The state streets which is kind of old Florida charm. Then Harmony which is out there, tight knit community away from it all. All totally different vibes. Honestly the communities off of Narcoosse are a great deal right now - Jack Brack, Jones Rd, etc 15 mins from lake Nona, 5 from sunbridge, $100k+ less in price many of the same builders, Dream Finders, Ashton woods.

    Great video and info, as always, Ken! I remember those commericals well!!! I also remember thinking, "did I miss something?"😂
    I mean, yeah, we could drive down I-Drive and hit Kissimmee and its outlet mall and tourist t shirt shops pretty quickly. But we never did find St. Cloud, or anything that compelled us to want to stay "in the center of it all" (trademark...not totally accurate😂). It may be 30 or so years late, but maybe it might begin to live up to those commercials with the new development. Will be interesting to follow!

    Driving around there I did see a lot of potential. The one thing i worry though about this area is the accessibility and traffic. I know there were proposed expressways, but going through moss park has been an uphill battle. Osceola really needs to prioritize their traffic plans with the upcoming developments, otherwise I’m predicting a lot of bottlenecking.

      Florida infrastructure is decades behind due to over development. The politicians keep making empty promises. Extensions and widening of roads aren’t enough. Now you have to show what St. Cloud really looks like lol. This gives the impression that it is still farmlands and everything must be so far away ,like it really was when we moved here in 2004. It really has been built up and continuing to be. Really no more farmland and that is why some acreage like 5 acres with a 3 bdrm house is a million now. It’s really not small town living anymore.

    As someone else has mentioned, that's not REALLY St. cloud life. Firstly, Lake Nona is considered the Orlando area. Harmony is a residential community located NEAR St. Cloud.
    People have come to live here for the "Small Town Life" . People that have lived here for many years have taken pride in that. The little town along the lakefront, with the cow pastures and many acres of land on the outskirts. Unfortunately, the construction all of those huge homes and communities is turning the town into the next Kissimmee. More people moving here expecting busy places like Orlando and Lake Nona, is causing a lot of change, taking away from the town's charm. Two years ago, we could drive down Hickory Tree Rd, take in the beauty of the land filled with horses and cows. Most of that is gone now. The traffic and the increase of accidents in the area is horrendous. If you're going to share information about. St. Cloud, share the actual town.... Small shops, boutiques, bars, and restaurants all downtown. Events at the lakefront including Spring Fling and independence day fireworks. All nice little things. But if you want crazy night life and lots of things to do like bowling, them park and the like, you still have to drive out of town.
    I'm sorry to be that person. And your video was well made and great quality... But portraying this town as something that it isn't causes people to move here expecting more, and then adds to changing this place into every other place around it.

    • @kenpozek
      @kenpozek  Před 2 lety +2

      You can be “that person” all you like! Love locals input. This video was really trying to portray what’s coming to St. Cloud. The massive amounts of development coming. I know small town life is what some are after, but the massive communities are what will make up St. Cloud in the next 15 years. Similarly to what happened in Horizon West and Downtown Winter Garden. You’ll have quaint downtown life, but most people will live in these large communities.

      @@gloriamaisonave8655 yeah its boring here, no good jobs (they are all in orlando or else where), and population has nearly doubled since 2010 with people everywhere and some places regularly have tons of traffic every day. New houses being built everywhere for better or worse. All that being said, it could be worse and I still like said cloud but the "celebrating small town life" motto is definitely outdated now ;p

    Wonderful!!! With all that undeveloped space and 25 mins to MCO, it's no wonder builders are committing that level of investment to that area. Many companies are switching to permanent remote work, so if they create enough school capacity, the area could be very attractive to young professionals with family.

    Hey Ken, do you think there will be any plans for new construction luxury homes in Saint Cloud similar to the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club or is that already in the works? tia

      Certainly enough land for it!
