As to him asking why it ain't bother his spirit before , I think it prolly hurt em a bit when Kendrick said somethin bout em n he resorted to anger to deal wit that and after it went out he was over the initial hurt n regretted dealing wit it that way.
As a human being J Cole has every right to do as he pleases I think as an Entertainer you owed it to the fans to partake in this battle that's what rap was built on and you can't put yourself in the top category or upper echelon if you're not willing to battle
We don't wanna see the crash, we wanna see people work at their craft to the edge limit of their possibilities without violent actual beef happening Imagine if a challenger driver tells a Mustang I can beat you, and the Mustang apologizes for even having a race with the challenger

The fact that cole couldn't come up with a diss track without lying and feeling uncomfortable with what he was saying - imo takes him out of the conversation, release a diss track for that doesn't take away from who u are. That was the mission and he failed. Simple.
Charlamagne, you are lying! What Cole said about Kendrick's albums is what a MF LARGE majority of society has always thought! Mr. Morale is not important as you say and stop pretending it is!

It's all good on the "I want to be myself" & the "peer pressure" take. But the main issue with this apology is the AUTHENTICITY! Cole has been calling for smoke for YEARS and he went off on the last 3 singles, before the album dropped, daring people to start beef with him. Cole been talking SHIT the last 3 years, talking about how he's always felt like 3rd, then realizing he is as good as everyone, then feeling himself, calling himself the GOAT, and DARING someone to start beef. Then when it comes TIME to PROVE IT, and there's literally a nuclear bomb dropping, setting the stage to have the MOST anticipated, wanted, and historic beef in all Hip-Hop HISTORY. Cole answers Kendricks insults. And we all fnally think "ITS FINALLY HAPPENING, LETS FINALLY SEE WHOS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE." And in only TWO DAYS, J Cole is on HIS stage, in from of THOUSANDS of fans and cameras and this dude not only gives the person he's beefing with, the only person that is just as talented as him, who can actually give him some competition, a FUCKING APOLOGY?! But then asks his fans, HIS FANS to praise THE DUDE HE'S BEEFING WITH?!? Bro, that's inexcusable. That's the SOFTEST shit and FAKE shit anyone could of ever done. Fuck your feelings Cole thats weak as fuck. I'm so disappointed in you dawg. Damn.

J Fold wanna be arrogant and say I’m number one and I dare a rapper to try me AND come off as the humble/bigger man. And you can’t be and advertise both, then back down.😂😂😂
With great power and influence comes great responsibility. COLE realized that we are to prone to accepting DISS unity as a people .Now I am HIP HOP head and I Love a good battle but if he values peace and showing the power of a man who can apologies because he feels its warrented and that shows the amount of respect and love he has for kendrick lamar . COLE is a beast and a GOAT ...Now let's see how this goes now that he is not in the way and now it's Kendrick and Drake ....
I have to look at J Cole’s entire catalogue differently now. How many times on his songs or on others he’s says he’s the hardest MC, or he’ll put your favourite rapper neck in a noose? Then when it came time to put it down, he just laid down. And Charlamagne is wrong, J Cole didn’t get strays. The biggest line in Kendrick’s verse was in response to J Cole’s verse.
I can't believe that me and Cole are around the same age. Claiming he made a diss song under peer pressure? Cole, you are gonna be 40 years old in under a year!
I think I know rap but this situation made me realize that maybe I don't really know hip hop. Does being the best rapper mean being the one who dissed everyone who came his way ? I mean, is it possible to be the best rapper (as the person with the highest rap skills) without having to diss someone who sent shots towards you but not really ?
People aren't bashing him for backing down. People are upset that he had to publicly do it. Just stfu and stay out when/if Kendrick disses him again. You don't have to grovel and say sorry.
This is the point that i agree with Joe Budden. Geography plays a huge part on it. Cole is from Fayetteville and Kdot is from Compton. It’s not on Cole’s heart. It’s simple that.
I’m ready for the The Fall Off, but I don’t want to hear anymore J Cole after that album. He better put his heart and soul into that album and NO raps about being the best. Just be the best version of himself on that album and I’ll be straight as a fan.
Why we got dudes who know nothing about rap yapping? This dude really think drake who hasn’t done much for the culture in terms of bringing us a classic album has more of a claim to “number one” when j Cole has gave us classic albums. What is dude talking about
I think some of you don't know the meaning "pop songs" all genres can fall under pop songs if they're big enough. Pop is literally popular music what's more popular than rap these days ?
7:12 we dont want to see crash in nascar or f1 racing . we want to see a good fight in a boxing match . so we wanted to see a good rap battle in Rap because hip hop is a competetive sport .
This whole talk about “ Cole has been on I’m the best” for the last year. Well you’re supposed to be. What ever you do you’re supposed to feel like your the best. Im cool with his decision. It wasn’t really his fight honestly.
Drakes a Pop Star, Cole deserves to have his spot questioned for the apology but Drake shouldn't even be on the list. He's the largest industry plant to date.
"I think he's fine with being 3rd" no he isn't. He is just not willing to sacrifice is own morality to achieve it. Music is subjective and relative to the person. He has reached point where he's confident in his ability as a rapper. Pushing this narrative that he sees himself as less than Kendrick and Drake is part of the issue. Too many ppl run around acting like its a universal truth that Kendrick is the best rapper and he has nothing but flawless music. Walk up to 100 random niggas in the hood and ask them to name 5 songs from TPAB or Mr. Morale. 70% of them wouldn't be able to. And another thing, how tf are you guys talking as if Cole was in the wrong but Kendrick wasn't. Just like Cole could not have used his catalog as an angle to diss KDot, Kendrick could have simply kept his shots aimed at Drake. Kendrick didn't shoot up no damn house. He wanted to go controversial and so he referenced them both. It's as simple as that.
Seriously saying Drake is #1 or even top 10 is wack. He’s bitten more rhymes than any rapper. Like when he bit off of Rappin 4 tay. What he has is talent for entertainment period.
- cole cried for respect and credibility as a top mf which he worked his ass off for and got it . -then started campaigning “ I wish someone would try it “ while being woke and all about peace -got the smoke he asked for and hit back expeditiously -now wants to backtrack once his reply is out and wants to go back to being woke and about peace .. only thing worse than all of that is lying to yourself and fans about someone’s catalog , backtracking on it and then apologized knowing if he was to reply it would be deemed bad works since you apologized already .. true colors were shown and shit disappoint fr
Every artist has said they are the best. When did we start holding artist accountable for what they say in songs. Yall holding Cole to a standard that is unbelieavable. Ive never seen any other artist held to this standard for the bull shit they talk. Cole cant even feel good on a track and talk ish like others smh. This is cyber bullying ×1000. 🗣 “I don’t wanna hear any Excuses…. YOU jumped off the Porch…. YOU put the Song out….. I feel the apology was because he knew it wasn’t a good Diss @ all.”🫡
Yall didnt notice why he apologized and took 7 minute drill off the mixtape. He was spitting a lot of facts about Kendrick Lamar's career and its inconsistencies taking the battle seriously, going in but not doing his best.. If you notice the rest of the tracks, when he diss Kendrick, he was playing around. Listen to what's left of might delete later, then listen to 7-minute drill. The way j Cole speaks changes. He's being a lot more aggressive and personal. The reason he apologized was because they are friends and he felt he said some things that shouldn't have said about his friend. That's why he was losing sleep. Cole never actually threw in the towel like people think. He basically only said he was gonna let Kendrick get some free personal shot in allowing kendrick to get even because he made it personal. Also in like that he wasn't really referring to cole, If he was throwing in the towel he would have deleted the whole mixtape. If you notice the rest of the diss tracks he only kept the ones he was playing around in
Bro i have never seen 2 dude miss the point so badly. It's not super deep. It's about the competitiveness of hip hop, Kendrick didn't want beef or toxicity he want a friendly battle. Cole been saying he the best and want all the smoke for YEARS. Jermaine punked out, this is the softest move in can ever remember in the history hip hop
J Cole's narrative about Kendrick went against the truth. Regardless of the internet trolls, most people knew that wasn't the truth. His angle of attack was all wrong. He should've talked about the mental health and / or his undefeated feature record on tracks with other artists. Challenge Kendrick to get on a track with him. He didn't have the catalog history to talk about Kendrick's!!!

@@REMOV28 The most entertaining parts of it was based on the premise of the Takeover. Period.
Like Drake said „rest yall I treat you like you never made it“
I read that slow like I was bout to brush my teeth
As to him asking why it ain't bother his spirit before , I think it prolly hurt em a bit when Kendrick said somethin bout em n he resorted to anger to deal wit that and after it went out he was over the initial hurt n regretted dealing wit it that way.
Heart part 4 🔥🔥🔥🔥
12:18 "Heroes looking for the villains to help" - Kendrick Lamar, Savior
As a human being J Cole has every right to do as he pleases I think as an Entertainer you owed it to the fans to partake in this battle that's what rap was built on and you can't put yourself in the top category or upper echelon if you're not willing to battle
We don't wanna see the crash, we wanna see people work at their craft to the edge limit of their possibilities without violent actual beef happening
Imagine if a challenger driver tells a Mustang I can beat you, and the Mustang apologizes for even having a race with the challenger
Thats not possible drake has clowns around him kendrick has over serious people around him we need the entourages to get of Twitter n ig and let it play out on he charts
I totally agree with Andrew’s assessment of J Cole!
I believe for Cole recording is therapeutic and the challenge was fun, but making it public was the misstep. Not a fan of that "why'd he put it out" narrative, we know hindsight is always 20/20
So we forgetting that jcole punched pdiddy for kendrick but aight i see who knows the history
J cole about to retire after the fall off he aint worried about no beef its very on brand
The fact that cole couldn't come up with a diss track without lying and feeling uncomfortable with what he was saying - imo takes him out of the conversation, release a diss track for that doesn't take away from who u are. That was the mission and he failed. Simple.
What stood out the most to me is that it was the Drake stans gassin this and not necessarily Cole fans.
Makes alot of sense I am glad I watch this
Charlamagne, you are lying! What Cole said about Kendrick's albums is what a MF LARGE majority of society has always thought! Mr. Morale is not important as you say and stop pretending it is!
J cole is a smart dude , you cant put a price on peace . He’s always been brains over braun
Braun
Wat is that?
Then maybe he should stop rapping about being the best and that no one should challenge his pen🤦🏻♂️
you think he has peace now.. with all the reaction his apology is getting??
@@alibabi7648 he doesn’t care about people’s opinions, his spirit is at peace
@@Missave2 the same person that sang a song called "let nas down".. don't care about people's opinion? You sure about that? If he let Nas down then.. what you think he has done now.. BTW Nas sang ether.
This two are so corny 🤦🏽♂️
If Cole would have left off 7 minute freestyle the rest of the album would have been an even mannered respond that would’ve aligned with him. Outside the trans bar too idk what that was
That Snapple analogy is fire
I agree with the guy with the dreads he hit every nail on the head
Where did that other dude come from😂😂😂
Pimp uh butterfly was kendricks prince album it was the truth but good kid goated ta me💯
The dude with the braids is right though
And we all fnally think "ITS FINALLY HAPPENING, LETS FINALLY SEE WHOS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE."
And in only TWO DAYS, J Cole is on HIS stage, in from of THOUSANDS of fans and cameras and this dude not only gives the person he's beefing with, the only person that is just as talented as him, who can actually give him some competition, a FUCKING APOLOGY?!
Damn.
Alex basketball analogy makes sense.
The funny part , is how many fans including people in these comments call Cole soft and 98% of yall soft too😂😂 yall aint doing nothing different in ya real life.. shut up and stop acting tough online over some rap bars 😂😂😂
Yes we may be soft, but that mudafaka told us he wasn't soft for the past 3 years , what are you all saying... If you want to throne he as to battle for it, no way we are going to allow all these pussy shit in hip hop
Future put Charlamne on the intro of disc 2
That last example is another reminder on why your man ain’t with us. Thank you, Charlemagne for helping my guy out.
3:15 if that’s the case then don’t say you can kill anyone on the mic. Don’t say your best if you don’t want to be it
Piece of mind is priceless
People have to listen to J Cole's interview with Kevin a few years ago so they understand the apology better.
no on want that smoke Charlamagne was right lol
I agree!
it was just a battle though. kendrick diss him first and he responded. he didnt have to apologize.
Shultz has also been down playing Kendrick funny how he is more quiet when Charlamange is around.
9:07 😂😂😂
I have to look at J Cole’s entire catalogue differently now. How many times on his songs or on others he’s says he’s the hardest MC, or he’ll put your favourite rapper neck in a noose? Then when it came time to put it down, he just laid down.
And Charlamagne is wrong, J Cole didn’t get strays. The biggest line in Kendrick’s verse was in response to J Cole’s verse.
They’re all tied!
Cole was right. TPAB is not a great album. I reserve the right to have my own opinion.
Vraiment ? Et quel album de j cole est au niveau de Tpab?
That doesn't mean your opinion is true
CTG was spot on with this one.
Cole talked all that though shit just to retreat when the time came to test his steel. Don't claim the throne , if you are not ready to defend it.
Cha knows what he's talking about
I can't believe that me and Cole are around the same age. Claiming he made a diss song under peer pressure? Cole, you are gonna be 40 years old in under a year!
1:37 WHAT???? Of courseeee people TRY to be number 1. Wtf u talking about? 😂
Lol no idea what they were talking bout there. Cole been aiming for top spot for so long
Exactly who tf goes into anything not tryna be number one ??
Didn’t Cole even say he was number one??
that guy paints his nails?
I used to hate Charlamagne, ngl saw his last two videos with Schulz and realized he’s seems the most modern and factual critic.
If he would have came from the angle Charla said it would have been fire
Actually really thoughtful discussion 👏🤝
Fr, I respect Charlemagne’s growth over the year
@@ZacJonesCZcams one thing though, I feel like he just brushes off most of AL’s comments just to say something similar 🤣
I hate to see J Cole slander.
I’m ready for the The Fall Off, but I don’t want to hear anymore J Cole after that album. He better put his heart and soul into that album and NO raps about being the best. Just be the best version of himself on that album and I’ll be straight as a fan.
J cole was hurt by lamar coming at him/ sending strays while he finally on a run thats all .
Why we got dudes who know nothing about rap yapping? This dude really think drake who hasn’t done much for the culture in terms of bringing us a classic album has more of a claim to “number one” when j Cole has gave us classic albums. What is dude talking about
His diss was weak thats why he took it back
You are a child , move along.
Facts
I think some of you don't know the meaning "pop songs" all genres can fall under pop songs if they're big enough. Pop is literally popular music what's more popular than rap these days ?
Its just lyrics and rhymes that make sense its an art form.i don't think that nothing is wrong with telling lies in clash songs just entertainment
I said it… soon as I heard his diss none of it was facts and he knew
Ak is a Drake Glazer and C tha God is a Kendrick Glazer
Keep in mind, Andrew is a psychologist, he has a degree in human behavior
Charlamagne wit no bev is crazy
Seriously saying Drake is #1 or even top 10 is wack. He’s bitten more rhymes than any rapper. Like when he bit off of Rappin 4 tay. What he has is talent for entertainment period.
- cole cried for respect and credibility as a top mf which he worked his ass off for and got it .
-then started campaigning “ I wish someone would try it “ while being woke and all about peace
-got the smoke he asked for and hit back expeditiously
-now wants to backtrack once his reply is out and wants to go back to being woke and about peace
..
only thing worse than all of that is lying to yourself and fans about someone’s catalog , backtracking on it and then apologized knowing if he was to reply it would be deemed bad works since you apologized already .. true colors were shown and shit disappoint fr
Yall literally talking his bars literal its the craziest shit ive seen in hiphop.
The fact that Schulz said that this man never wanted to claim the crown only shows HE DOESNT KNOW SHIT, HAVE YOU LISTENED TO JCOLE ON ANY FUCKING ALBUM SINCE, I DUNNO, COLE WORLD????? Y ARE YALL LETTING THIS GUY ACT LIKE HE HAS A VOICE IN THE CULTURE LMFAO. Stop with this already.
🗣 “I don’t wanna hear any Excuses…. YOU jumped off the Porch…. YOU put the Song out….. I feel the apology was because he knew it wasn’t a good Diss @ all.”🫡
Except he’s been daring people (other rappers ) to test him for years 🤷♂️
Im from the era when the best rapper mean the person whos rapping the best. Coles been rapping the best whether hes up for pretend smoke or not.
Kendrick l'a détruit sur vendredi noir il n'est pas au niveau de Kendrick.
Exactly
If you notice the rest of the diss tracks he only kept the ones he was playing around in
Friends don’t diss each other in hip hop.
@@powerfulcornelius3285 I need more Context and specific to what you're referring to
Cole still the greatest. I don’t think he shoulda apologized but still he’s the goat
You are not the goat if you called yourself Mohammed Ali but are not willing to stand on your word
He should have did the same thing on 1985
@8:30
J Cole was being cowardly. His diss received mixed reviews. That's why he apologized.
Now it’s the fans fault 💀
One of the rare moments where I agree with Charlamagne.
Charlamane actually got it right... Cole should of took a different angle. He responded too fast
The apology made it serious when it was just a battle of words, wit & intelligence. Cole’s rhymes as far as jabs & anything machismo won’t hit the same anymore.
